The eyes of the unknown True Devil flashed, and the suppression of his Devil characteristics ceased.
Immediately, his body began to grow bigger. First, he grew in height and then horizontally.
His body deformed.
Black scales with a gray tinge emerged along his skin, soon taking the form of a majestic spiked armor.
His skin split and four more arms grew—two on each side of his sternum—while a third eye appeared on his forehead.
The transformation was pretty quick.
Yet, when the dust had settled and everything was over, the unknown True Devil had turned from a kind-looking middle-aged man into a humanoid beast more than ten meters in height, with four arms and spikes growing all over him.
Still, the crimson color in his eyes remained.
In fact, Liora keenly noticed that his red eyes were now filled with hunger, madness, and bloodlust, completely losing the earlier warmth and kindness.
Although she couldn't understand what method the robed woman had used to achieve this, Liora realized what was happening.
Through a bizarre method, the robed woman had managed to place the Devil under illusion.
That illusion didn't cause him harm or bring him any danger, but it led him to lose consciousness.
Thus, his Devil appearance was revealed, and his bloodthirsty instincts overpowered his rational side.
Losing his consciousness and letting his instincts take control over his body—Liora could already predict the outcome.
Sure enough, not long after, a deafening growl sounded as if a beast had been born.
The unknown Devil opened its mouth wide and howled at the sky, his piercing voice echoing throughout the barracks.
Then, his body shot forward.
His head turned and surveyed his surroundings while mid-air, as if he were searching for water to quench his thirst.
Originally, the person standing closest to him should have been the robed woman.
But after she cast her bizarre ability, she hurriedly escaped, opening some distance between them before disappearing.
Thus, the people closest to the unknown Devil were now none other than a team of cultists and a dozen Holy Knights.
The unknown Devil didn't mind, though.
With a flicker, his body teleported beside the team and reached out with his hand, taking hold of them all.
Panicked and shocked cries followed, but they soon ceased to exist.
With a flick of his wrist, the unknown Devil tossed the cultists onto his mouth.
The many rows of sharp, serrated teeth began doing their work while his jaw moved up and down.
Blood dripped out of his mouth as he gulped with difficulty, causing his throat and belly to elongate, like a snake that had devoured prey far beyond its limit.
However, the unknown Devil showed no discomfort.
The red light in his eyes grew deeper, and even his strength seemed to have increased, as if he had taken a powerful tonic.
He was about to continue his hunt and grab the nearby Holy Knights when a faint trace of disgust flashed across his face.
As if he had recognized that the holy power would do him no good, he turned around, noting that these creatures could not become his meal.
Then, vast demonic energy left his body.
It turned into eerie crimson ropes, extending towards the cultists, wrapping them up, and pulling them towards him.
While they were still mid-air and about to fall, the Devil raised his head and opened his mouth wide.
A large number of crunching sounds soon followed as the cultists became his meal.
From his transformation to their death, only a few seconds had passed.
Yet, during that short period of time, every single surviving member of the Necronomicon Sect had died. The barracks were shrouded in silence.
But that silence was destined not to last for long.
The unknown Devil showed no signs of having been satisfied just yet.
He raised his head and scanned his surroundings, looking for his next potential victim.
Instinctively, he searched for the robed woman that he had sensed not long ago.
Although he had lost consciousness and moved purely by instinct, his disgust for the robed woman was deep, engraved onto his bones.
Therefore, even in such a state, he was still looking for revenge.
Unfortunately, the unknown Devil couldn't find her.
But he did find something else. A red-haired woman standing in the distance.
Though she looked ordinary and unassuming, the True Devil in this form could sense an aura belonging to his kin.
This didn't awaken him from his stupor, though.
Instead, it made him even more excited.
He was longing to have a taste of his kin, a taste that was still fresh on his mind.
There were no further words.
One moment, the unknown Devil was standing still, and the next one, he had turned into an afterimage.
Instantly, he flashed before Liora and brought his hand down, like a human trying to slap an ant to death.
The changes in the situation were drastic.
The unknown Devil's forced transformation, the robed woman's sudden disappearance, the death of all the cultists...
Yet, though Liora was surprised, she hadn't lost track of what was happening around her.
She immediately noticed the unknown Devil's arrival and sensed the overwhelming power converging towards her.
Seeing that a handprint-shaped shadow was forming around her while an invisible power was locking her in place, Liora didn't hesitate.
She knew that what she was facing was a True Devil. She could not afford to underestimate him as she had done to Marquis Lavender.
Thus, she immediately activated her new ability—Life Ignition.
With a thought, the Life Seed on her abdomen shook before bursting with Life Force, filling her body with unimaginable power.
Her originally unassuming aura grew rapidly as she deactivated her Shroud Form, allowing the horns and other Devil characteristics to appear.
Then, dark shadows coiled around her right arm and transformed into a majestic sword.
Gripping its handle tightly, she raised her head and swung it up, towards the descending giant palm that was trying to wipe her out.
