Evolution: From Little Devil to Devil Empress

Chapter 78: Demon World [2] - Accident

So far, Liora had experienced teleporting several times throughout her life.

From the River of Oblivion to the dark void where she awakened her bloodline, then to the Crucible and back to the dark void.

Yet, although she should have long become accustomed to this experience by now, this time, she felt quite strange.

Perhaps it was because of the improvement in her strength, or perhaps because the real Demon World was very far away from the Crucible she was in, Liora found that she could vividly feel the changes in the space around her.

Because of this, she had the illusion that she was constantly spiraling within a giant wormhole, accompanied by Alpha, Scurry, and the Owl Devil.

Unfortunately, maybe because of their low strength, her three subordinates had fallen unconscious, leaving Liora alone to experience this unusual once-in-a-lifetime phenomenon.

The teleportation lasted a long time, giving Liora the time to inspect her surroundings.

Raising her head, she observed what appeared to be a wormhole.

Countless flickering lights of different colors were constantly flashing throughout it, while the space itself dilated and contracted, pushing Liora forward.

While this was happening, Liora was able to sense an extremely vast and ancient existence in the distance.

That existence seemed to be the center of the Heavens, causing everything to revolve around it as if a mere show of its power was enough to affect everything.

Although Liora should have been scared to face that existence, she discovered that she wasn't. An intimate feeling arose within her heart, prompting her to realize its true identity.

"The real Demon World...", she muttered in a low voice, sensing the throbbing of her own bloodline, which made her feel like a child returning to their mother's embrace.

While she was busy observing the world around her, time slowly passed.

The vibration of the space in the wormhole grew increasingly intense, further increasing her speed.

As such, the rate at which Liora advanced toward the real Demon World was constantly increasing.

Just when it seemed that she would finally arrive, though, her crimson pupils shrank as a hazy color flashed across them.

Her new ability—Void Whisper—had activated on its own.

Instantly, a still image formed in her mind.

In a vast dark space, two figures were intertwined with each other, constantly colliding and shattering everything that dared to block their path—including the space itself.

Before Liora could observe the figures' appearances, the image in her mind burst into pieces, and she was forced to return to reality, as if everything she had experienced was a mere illusion.

But Liora knew very well that it wasn't.

The inexplicable image had alarmed her, causing her to investigate her surroundings.

Once she did, she immediately discovered the space outside the wormhole was undulating strangely, as if it were suffering the impact of countless invisible attacks.

Its vibration only grew stronger, implying that the two unknown figures were gradually getting closer.

Liora instinctively held her breath and lifted her head, staring at the crimson light not far away—the Demon World—and hoping that she would reach her destination before the battle between the two affected her.

Unfortunately, fate itself seemed to have heard her wishes.

A moment later, two colossal figures appeared at the edge of her vision and rapidly approached her current location.

The aftermath of their fight directly impacted Liora, knocking her many meters back and having her collide with the wormhole's imaginary walls.

Seeing the light symbolizing the Demon World grow increasingly large and noticing that her subordinates were also facing the same fate, Liora made a swift decision.

Pushing against the air, she launched her body forward and arrived before them.

Then, turning her hand into a sharp blade, she struck ruthlessly at Alpha's neck.

As her hand sliced through the many mechanical gears, Liora used her other hand to grab the head before kicking the rest of Alpha's body away.

Bringing Alpha's unconscious head to her chest, Liora glanced out of the wormhole and saw that, by now, the battlefield had almost moved right next to it.

Just when it seemed that the fight would destroy the wormhole, a powerful turbulence assaulted Liora's senses.

The next moment, the wormhole seemed to have transformed into a catapult, throwing her toward the Demon World with all of its remaining power.

In an instant, whether it was Liora's or her subordinates' figures, they all vanished into the distance, while the wormhole itself disappeared.

In the space where it previously stood, the two figures continued their battle, without paying any attention to the victims impacted by their fight.

They didn't spare Liora a single glance, and, of course, they did not care enough to learn whether she successfully reached her destination.

It was as if they regarded her as a mere ant, someone they could easily trample upon and face no consequences or blowback.

173rd Layer of the Demon World, Inferno Valley.

Located at one of the most important nodes of the 173rd Layer, the Inferno Valley was rich in demonic energy and home to a large number of elemental creatures.

Although most of these creatures were weak—barely reaching the Young Devil stage—their sheer number was more than enough to be a threat.

Moreover, there were a few outliers among them who far surpassed their companions in both strength and intellect.

There were Lesser Devils, True Devils, and perhaps, even Great Devils.

Thus, the Inferno Valley had turned into one of the 173rd Layer's forbidden areas, rarely visited by Lesser Devils who feared that they would lose their lives.

But at this moment, a rare visitor appeared in the valley.

In the sky right above it, a crimson light shone brightly and, like a falling star, descended at lightning speed.

The light streaked through the sky, and soon, its destination became abundantly clear: the center of the Inferno Valley.

Many elemental creatures lifted their heads and looked at it with wonder and surprise, while a few, the strongest among them, seemed to have realized something.

No matter what, time didn't stop.

Before long, the light had gotten dangerously close to the earth and, with a roaring bang, hit the ground like a comet.

Dust, gravel, and demonic flames rose up, engulfing the light and hiding its true identity.

It was only a few seconds later, when the dust completely settled, that the light's true identity was finally revealed.

It was a beautiful woman with crimson hair and scarlet eyes, wearing thin black armor covered in intricate blood-red lines.

Her hands were holding what seemed to be a lifeless head, while her head was raised, staring straight toward the sky.

As she did, the red in her eyes deepened as an unbearable fury arose within her heart.

"Will of the Demon World!", she couldn't help but roar, her resentment and indignation clear.
