Considering the infamous reputation that the Devil race had, it was inevitable for one to ask:
How did Devils, a race born and raised in the Demon World, achieve such a level of fame throughout the Heavens?
After all, although the Demon World was powerful and was home to countless powerful beings, there were still some worlds that could match it.
Yet these worlds were vastly less known.
The answer to this was quite simple: The Devils were one of the few races in the Heavens that could actually travel between worlds.
As long as a Devil reached the True Devil stage, they would awaken the ability to communicate with creatures native to other worlds.
By establishing contact with such individuals, True Devils could use them as coordinates to descend into their world.
Recalling that information, Liora stared silently at the giant array that she had carved earlier.
Although Liora was not a True Devil and had only just reached the Lesser Devil stage, she still had something that most Devils could only dream about: the mysterious blood of the two unknown beings.
Even though her experiences in the Crucible had made her refrain from conducting further experiments on this blood, the knowledge she had obtained before that was still fresh within her mind.
And in that knowledge, information regarding the array before her was contained.
"World-Descending Array.", Liora whispered the array's name subconsciously.
"Or more commonly known as the World-Traitor-Finding Array.", she added, jokingly.
That's right.
Merely based on the array's name, one could instantly judge its function.
It mimicked the ability that only True Devils were supposed to possess—the ability to communicate with individuals in other, distant worlds.
As her gaze fell on the result of her hard work, having literally poured real blood and sweat into this array, a strange sense of accomplishment arose within Liora's heart.
Leaning back, she was planning to take a break to relax, giving the Myriad Devils Body the time it required to heal her current injuries.
Just then, though, a soul-tearing pain assaulted her head.
In her mind, the picture of a towering Fire Elemental flying above a valley appeared.
Its frame and oppressive aura were overwhelming, beyond any Fire Elemental she had seen so far, including the Lesser Devil-level one she had just killed.
The image lasted for only a brief moment before it broke into pieces, sending Liora back to reality.
However, Liora—despite her familiar surroundings—couldn't feel happy at all.
She knew that the source of the image in her mind was her new ability—Void Whisper. And, she also understood that this perception-based ability would never activate without a reason.
This, coupled with the constant alarms that were ringing in her mind, made Liora understand:
Soon, she was going to be in danger. And that danger stemmed from the towering Fire Elemental she had just seen.
"Although it was only a still image, I can be certain that the towering Fire Elemental is far stronger than the Lesser Devil-level one."
"I'm afraid that it has at least reached the peak of the Lesser Devil stage, if not surpassed it.", Liora analyzed.
Instantly, she knew without thinking that she could not contend against such an opponent in her current state.
Not to mention that she was currently injured, even if she were to be completely fine, it would be impossible for her to escape from its hands, let alone fight against it.
Realizing this, Liora couldn't help but cast a glance at the World-Descending Array beneath her feet before raising her head, her crimson eyes passing through the cave's walls and reaching into the sky.
"The Will of the Demon World!", she whispered.
She didn't believe that her being found was a mere coincidence.
She had been in the valley for quite some time, and so far, she had barely faced any danger.
Yet, the moment she finished carving the World-Descending Array, a suspected True Devil Fire Elemental happened to find her traces.
"Do you want to force me to activate it?", Liora roughly guessed the Demon World's purpose.
But, even though she did, there was nothing she could do to change the situation.
Although it was inevitable that she would feel unwilling to be forced to do something against her will, she knew that activating the World Descending Array was the only way she could escape from her current predicament.
Shaking her head lightly, Liora pushed those thoughts aside and stopped hesitating.
Waving her hand, she wrapped the lifeless head of Alpha with her demonic energy and let it land in her hands.
Then, she sat down at the center of the World-Descending Array and placed it gently on her lap.
Following that, she waved her hand again.
The pile of Fire Elemental cores beside her seemed to respond to her command, as one by one, they began falling outside the array's center, landing on top of the innumerable Devil Runes.
The cores instantly shattered, transforming into pure demonic energy, which poured straight into the array.
It was as if the World-Descending Array had been provided with the necessary fuel.
The Devil Runes began lighting up one after another, each shimmering with the brilliance of thousands of colors as if they all contained a rainbow hidden within them.
Liora felt the space around her tremble. The array shone brightly, as if it had been activated.
Yet, when it seemed that everything had gone according to plan and that her escape plan would soon succeed, something unexpected happened.
The World-Descending Array's rising momentum stopped abruptly, and the light of the Devil Runes retreated, as if it had run out of fuel.
Seeing this, Liora felt a little regretful.
But she knew that now was not the time to hesitate.
Reaching into her clothes, she took out the fragments of the Lesser Devil's core and threw them onto the array.
Instantly, the aura of the array began rising again until, suddenly, it broke through a certain limit.
The circle that Liora was sitting on started rotating, as countless white lights emerged from it and surrounded her seated figure.
"Please, assist me in becoming the King..."
"God, please make my husband fall in love with me again..."
"Evil God, I request that you make my girlfriend agree to my proposal..."
