The moment Liora activated the World-Descending Array, she felt her body break down into tiny particles and then be transported through space.
This time, the teleportation was completely different from what had occurred during her journey from the Crucible to the Demon World.
Not only was it way faster, but also far quieter and uneventful.
This only served to confirm her previous suspicions that the Will of the Demon World was indeed the mastermind behind everything.
Liora did not know how much time had passed.
It seemed as if she had fallen into a deep slumber, unable to sense the outside world or even check her own body.
Suddenly, just when she began to think that this state was going to last for a long time, she felt the particles that she had turned into rearranging on their own.
Then, these particles quickly merged back together and shot downwards, like an arrow that had left its bowstring.
The "landing" immediately jolted her awake, dispelling the faint haziness in her mind.
Her eyelids twitched as she slowly opened her eyes and observed her surroundings.
Immediately, Liora noticed something unusual.
In her opinion, the person who had summoned a Devil from the Demon World should have been a member of an evil cult, or, at the very least, someone susceptible to falling to evil.
Yet, when Liora stared at the individual who had summoned her—a blonde woman who looked more like a Saint than a cult member—she sensed the complete opposite characteristics.
Holiness, purity, kindness. These were the words that could best describe her.
Shaking her head, she pushed those thoughts aside and turned her attention back to herself.
Liora could feel that her current state was quite grim, and that was not only because of her injuries.
In her perception, her own strength seemed to have been sealed, as if the entire world was suppressing her, trying to expel what it considered to be a malign tumor.
"It's as if I've traveled through time and became a Little Devil again.", Liora thought as she inspected her state, noticing a weakness that she had not felt in a very long time.
Though somewhat surprising, this was not beyond her expectations.
"Is this the so-called suppression of the world?", she muttered, and bits and pieces of information contained in her inherited memories flashed in her mind.
"According to these memories, Devils who travel to other worlds will face those worlds' suppression. Depending on the world and its status, this suppression can be big or small.", Liora recalled.
"And it seems that the suppression is quite severe in this world."
In fact, the reason why worlds suppressed Devils did not need much explanation.
For a world, the Devils who entered it without permission were Otherworld Invaders, sworn enemies that wished to plunder everything within it in order to enhance their strength.
And of course, such plundering was at the world's expense.
Take Liora, for example.
If she were to go on a rampage and began slaughtering people—swallowing their souls and devouring their flesh and blood—once she left for the Demon World, this world would forever lose those "resources".
Thus, the disgust and hatred carried by the worlds toward Devils were not only understandable but also totally valid.
Although many thoughts raced in Liora's mind, in reality, less than a split second had passed since her arrival.
Yet, during this short period of time, the knights in the room had already faintly surrounded her, with the Priest hiding behind them and observing her with apprehension.
"Priest, what should we do?", one of the knights who had guessed Liora's identity questioned, his voice trembling and filled with horror as he tried his best to keep himself calm.
The Priest didn't immediately respond. Instead, he sized up Liora for a few moments before giving his answer:
"According to the ancient knowledge passed down in the Holy Church, the Devils are at their weakest the moment they descend into other worlds."
"It is only after they are given enough time to recover that they will turn into the World-Destroying beings we hear about in the legends."
Moreover, Liora's fatal injuries didn't escape the Priest's observation.
In his mind, now was the best time to get rid of this potential cancer, preventing the future carnage before it really happened.
Thinking of this, the Priest's face turned stern, and a sense of responsibility arose within his heart.
He vowed that he would kill this Devil, even if he needed to sacrifice himself.
Raising his hand, a bright golden light flashed in the Priest's right hand, while he opened his mouth and gave a solemn order:
"Kill her!"
Hearing the words that were dripping with murderous intent, the knights immediately reacted.
They didn't hesitate and, according to the training they had received, they charged forward.
Several of them unsheathed the swords that hung on their waists, while others removed the shields on their backs and brought them forward, ready to cooperate as a team to deal with their opponent.
Though immersed in her own thoughts, Liora was still paying attention to the world around her.
Thus, the moment the knights lunged at her, she instantly noticed their movements.
Shaking her head, she let out a regretful, somewhat pretentious sigh.
"Why? Why do you have to force me?", she spoke in a low voice, before turning to the stunned blonde woman and tossing Alpha's head to her.
"Catch!", she yelled, and while the head was still in the air and had yet to land, she adjusted her posture and faced the murderous knights.
She wasn't caught off guard by being besieged the moment she descended into the world, nor did she show any panic that she had lost most of her strength.
Instead, she felt her own blood boil.
"I was worried that it would take me a long time to recover from my injuries. I didn't expect that there would be people kind enough to volunteer.", Liora whispered, seemingly talking to herself, or to the knights around her.
However, before she had even finished those words, her figure had already vanished.
Although injured, she dashed forward at an astonishing speed, a speed that faintly surpassed human limits.
Arriving in front of a knight, she calmly dodged the sword slashing in her direction before waving her right hand forward.
Facing the suppression of the world, most of her abilities had also been suppressed, including Shadow Manipulation.
But Liora didn't need it at the moment.
Her hand turned into a claw, and her nails shone with a white brilliance as they struck the knight's torso, tearing through his armor and brushing against his skin.
Ignoring the warm blood dripping from her fingers, Liora's eyes flashed with a hint of surprise.
In her opinion, such an attack should have completely killed the opponent. Yet, the moment her nails were about to slice through his chest, they encountered unexpected resistance.
"Extraordinary armor? Is this related to the power system of this world?", Liora wondered.
Unfortunately, she didn't have the time to reflect further upon this thought.
Although her attack had indeed injured one of her opponents, it had also given the rest of them an opportunity to strike at her.
Feeling the cold air brush against the back of her head, Liora twisted her body and turned around.
Instantly, her pupils gained a golden hue as the sword's sharp edge was reflected in her crimson eyes.
