In front of the gates of Duke Saint Clair's Mansion.
"Mr. Eric, this is a package for Miss Inanna."
The speaker was a neatly dressed, polite young man.
Eric knew this young man; he was the new young supervisor sent by the guild's postal service this year. Every time there was any mail for the Duke's Mansion, he delivered it personally.
Behind him were two guards, and from the sword and shield emblems on their epaulettes, it was clear they were official guild personnel.
The young man held a sealed small box with both hands, and on one corner of the box was a red seal — the highest grade of mail from the guild's post station.
"For Miss Inanna?" Eric confirmed with a hint of doubt.
"Yes, Miss Inanna's package." The young man smiled, holding the box steadily without the slightest impatience.
This was strange. At this time, who would send something to Miss Inanna?
And with a red seal.
The young lady's social circle was not very broad, mostly limited to the noble circles of the kingdom, and she had little contact with the outside world in the past year.
If it was a formal letter between nobles, they would use the exclusive sky-blue seal.
So, it should be privately sent by a child from another noble family, right?
Could it be from the child of Earl Roland's family?
Although Eric had many thoughts, he didn't make the young man wait long in action.
He reached out to take the box: "Thank you for your trouble, Josh."
Seeing his name remembered by Eric, Josh was visibly excited.
But in just a moment, he composed himself and didn't linger a moment longer.
"It's my honor to serve Saint Clair. Now that the package is delivered, please excuse me."
Saying so, he left with the two guards.
Bringing the package back, Eric did not hand it directly to Inanna.
He returned to his room and took out some magic items.
First, he tore open the red seal, and a slight magical fluctuation spread out.
Eric was not surprised at all by this, as the seal was a small tool used to ensure the package had not been opened during transit.
Opening the box, there were two compartments inside.
One compartment contained a letter, and the other held a demon crystal about the size of a ring.
Eric instantly recognized its quality — S Level.
This made him even more puzzled, and he dismissed the previous guess that this was a letter from another noble child.
No child from any family would be extravagant enough to gift an S Level demon crystal to a friend.
Though curious, Eric wouldn't deliberately seek the answers to these questions, and he didn't look at the letter's content either.
His task was simply to ensure the young lady's safety.
After several magic items' inspections, he ensured there was no danger on either item.
What he did was not presumptuous; the Duke had granted him these permissions long before his arrival.
After completing everything, Eric packed everything up, placing the letter and the demon crystal back in the box.
Then he took the box and headed directly towards the training ground.
————
Inside the training ground, paved with obsidian and reinforced through enchantment.
The magic power fluctuations caused by the duel were intermittently transmitted.
In the field, two young people were testing their magic.
Inanna's magic teacher, Julian, stood at the edge, observing their battle.
Noticing the footsteps behind, Julian turned around.
"Good day, Mr. Steward."
Eric nodded in response: "Good day, Scholar."
Scholar was Julian's identity within the Relic Association.
"Mr. Steward, what brings you to observe Inanna's class today?"
According to Julian's own observation, this steward was usually very busy, though he wasn't sure what Eric was busy with.
Of course, the question was merely a form of greeting; Julian had no interest in inquiring into the secrets of the Duke's Mansion.
He was only interested in that study room.
Eric didn't hide anything: "There is a package for Miss."
Julian noticed the items in Eric's hand: "I'll call her over then."
"No need, let them finish their match." Eric shook his head in refusal.
Seeing this, Julian refocused on the training ground.
Several magic missiles were flicked out by Calvin, tracing an arc through the air towards Inanna on the other side.
Inanna, however, simply stood in place, using Water Mirror Refraction to condense a rippling water mirror in front of her.
She then ignored the incoming attacks, focusing on casting her next skill.
Facing the incoming magic missiles, the water mirror maneuvered agilely around Inanna, intercepting each attack just in time.
Two of the magic missiles were even perfectly deflected by the water mirror.
To avoid the counterattacks, Calvin had to abandon his next spell and take two steps to the left.
Just as he steadied himself, Inanna's Water Snake Technique came flying over.
Calvin wanted to retreat, getting out of Water Snake Technique's range, but he didn't expect it to be much more concentrated than he anticipated.
He had no choice but to use a Magic Shield to nullify the Water Snake Technique.
However, this delay allowed Inanna to prepare her next spell.
The scene within the training ground was almost like Inanna standing still, focusing on her spellcasting, while Calvin scrambled around, dodging unending attacks.
Occasionally attempting to counterattack, only to have his attacks bounced back by the persistent water mirror, making him even more disheveled.
By the end, Calvin was almost in tears.
When Inanna finally remembered to use Mud Swamp Technique to seal Calvin's movements, Julian ended the duel.
Seeing his eldest disciple, who was panting and collapsing on the ground like a dead dog after stepping out of the swamp, Julian didn't think he performed poorly.
Actually, being constantly disrupted, completing spells far less frequently than Inanna, Julian expected Calvin to be defeated earlier.
Unexpectedly, his eldest disciple, with his monkey-like agility, managed with an un-mage-like awkward stance to hang on until now.
He wasn't sure if he should feel pleased or helpless.
As for Inanna...
He could only say, the "Favor of the Elemental Spirit" was a talent that even he envied.
Sometimes the heavens just favor someone, giving her not only the best background but also top-notch talent.
Calvin's defeat was entirely justified.
"Alright, that's it for today, everyone go rest."
Calvin seemed a bit unconvinced, muttering to himself: "If I could use rings and magic potions, I wouldn't lose so easily!"
Julian glanced at him, asking: "Then should Inanna also use her magic wand?"
Calvin immediately fell silent.
Indeed, neither had used equipment for the duel.
If Inanna had that magic staff embedded with a large A Level demon crystal, Calvin knew he would have lost even more quickly…
Not bothering with his deeply disheartened disciple, Julian said to Inanna:
"Inanna, Eric has a package for you."
Unlike Calvin, who looked defeated, Inanna was merely slightly out of breath, as if she had just completed a set of warm-up exercises.
Upon hearing Julian's words, she looked toward the edge of the field and saw Eric holding a box.
Surprised, she asked, "A package for me?"
