When Old Shao and Mei Jiao entered the main hall, Old Shao was holding onto Mei Jiao's hand, trying to comfort her.

They weren't sure what was happening.

If they had made Lin Xuan Qi angry, their only wish was that Xue Cong and Ah Di wouldn't be implicated due to whatever their mistake was.

Xue Cong helped her mother by the side.

She was also worried by now, after being influenced by her parents' anxiety.

"There they are, come quickly." Madam Sai with her handkerchief waved at them.

When Xue Cong, Old Shao and Mei Jiao saw her with a huge smile and so were the others, they glanced at each other.

The other servants also gave them smiles, and some sighed at the fortunes of Xue Cong.

"Aiyoh. Come in and have a seat, it's a big day for Xue Cong. Got to cheer up and bring in the good luck."

Madam Sai did her job and went up to Xue Cong and her parents.

She led them to have a seat opposite where Sima Ye was.

"Master Lin, what is happening?" Old Shao glanced over at Lin Xuan Qi and asked.

"Today is the day where Master Lin is asking for your daughter's hand in marriage." Madam Sai covered her mouth with her handkerchief and gave out a burst of laughter.

"Did you hear that?" Mei Jiao held onto her husband's hands tightly when she heard Madam Sai.

It was all that they could have asked for.

From selling her into slavery and now with her becoming the wife of Master Lin, it was a miracle to them.

They had tried their best to redeem what they did to her and now, it was the best closure they could have.

No matter if Xue Cong had forgiven them.

Their sincerest wish for Xue Cong when they saw her again was for her to lead a safe, happy and prosperous life.

Old Shao nodded his head vigorously at Mei Jiao.

His eyes got teary with tears of joy.

"Xue Cong, we..." Turning his head over to Xue Cong, he struggled to finish his sentence.

The excitement and happiness were too overwhelming for him.

Mei Jiao was the same, being speechless at what was happening.

"I'm so happy for you, sister Xue Cong." Ah Di was also excited at the news, and he came over to Xue Cong and congratulated her.

Xue Cong, whose mind was blank, patted Ah Di's head.

Old Shao whispered with Mei Jiao and the others waited.

Old Shao glanced over at Mei Jiao, and Mei Jiao nodded her head.

What Sima Ye and Madam Sai said was right.

It would affect the reputation of Xue Cong too.

"Yes, we shall go with that." Old Shao said, and Madam Sai gave out a burst of laughter.

"Then, it's settled. I shall arrange for an auspicious day for Master Lin to take the hand of young mistress Xue Cong."

Zhang Jie stood up and bowed to Lin Xuan Qi, "Congratulations, Master Lin and young mistress Xue Cong."

She nudged Sima Long, and Sima Long quickly did the same.

And soon, everyone else in the main hall did so.

"Congratulations, Master Lin and young mistress Xue Cong."

Xue Cong's heart was beating fast.

She held her hands to her chest, feeling the excitement, while she gave everyone her acknowledgement of their well wishes.

"Young mistress Xue Cong..." She mumbled to herself softly while the realization sunk in for her.

What a day it was for her.

She glanced over at Lin Xuan Qi and felt for that moment that she was willing to do anything for him.

Memories came flooding back to her uncontrollably.

It went from the dark and depressing slavery house to the first time she met him, thinking that he was a servant.

Then to the buns that he had bought for her from Luo Bao.

Flavors from the buns swelled up to her mouth.

The mansion then came into her mind.

She recalled how it was when there were only the two of them inside.

And now, right in front of her, she and Lin Xuan Qi would be husband and wife.
