Awakening the Useless Class… But My Talents Are Broken?!

Chapter 59: Winter's Island IV

Mike and Emperor stayed back and watched as the lich engaged Leviathan.

The lich was not a physical fighter. It was a being made almost entirely of magic. Death magic, soul magic, undead energy, chaos—every type of dark power flowed through it. Against a monster like Leviathan, raw magic was the best opening.

Black spells crashed into Leviathan's body again and again. Spears of death magic pierced its scales. Curses spread across its massive form, slowing its movements and weakening its defenses.

Leviathan roared and answered with violent attacks. It slammed its body into the sea, sending huge waves toward the lich. Ice shattered as water cannons and freezing breaths were fired nonstop.

The lich took damage.

Its body cracked in several places, but it did not panic. Dark energy repaired it again and again. As long as Mike supplied mana, it would keep fighting.

Mike stayed focused.

From time to time, he drank mana potions when he felt his reserves dropping. He also activated the one-time buff items he had bought earlier. Strength buffs. Mana recovery buffs. Magic amplification buffs.

One by one, they activated.

The lich's spells became stronger. Leviathan was clearly getting irritated now.

After some time, Mike narrowed his eyes.

"Okay, buddy," he said, looking at Emperor. "You're in."

Emperor howled and charged forward.

He joined the fight from the side, moving much faster than Leviathan expected. Cerulean energy covered his claws and fangs as he struck. He didn't try to overpower Leviathan directly. Instead, he attacked joints, weaker scales, and distracted it.

Now Leviathan had to fight two enemies at once.

Even though Emperor was only a Peak Rank 0 monster, he was no ordinary one. As an Etherfang Wolf Emperor, his bloodline was extremely high. His natural stats, speed, and instincts were far beyond normal monsters of his rank.

And more importantly he was like an Mana in shape of an beast, he can easily fight for a long time with its mana reserves.

Because of that, he could still keep up—barely—with a Rank 2 boss.

Leviathan began to shift its focus back and forth, roaring in frustration.

That was exactly what Mike wanted.

Mike had prepared himself for a long fight.

Leviathan maybe be fighting two powerful monster like Legendary Wolf Emperor and Mythical Eldritch Lich but the damage done to him was not that fatal. It was not regenerating its wounds fast enough to recover from the constant damage but its health was not decreasing that fast either.

This monster was on the level of dragons.

It had full control over ice magic and water magic, and it used both at the same time. Large ice spikes formed in the sea and shot toward the lich. Massive water blades followed, crashing down with crushing force.

Even while taking damage, Leviathan fought back hard.

The lich and Emperor were both under heavy pressure.

Mike reacted immediately.

From time to time, he used more buff items on both Emperor and the lich. Defense boosts. Speed boosts. Resistance buffs. He did not hesitate to spend them.

The lich also played its role well.

It constantly cast curses on Leviathan—slowing its movements, lowering its defense, weakening its magic output, and draining small amounts of its stamina. These effects stacked over time, making the boss less efficient the longer the fight went on.

Mike did not move closer.

He knew better.

One direct hit from Leviathan or its spells would be enough to kill him instantly. There was no room for mistakes.

The lich could not truly die. At worst, it would be unsummoned if its body was destroyed.

Emperor also cannot die.

As Emperor was tied to Mike's Knight's Mount skill. That bond gave him unlimited lives, only limited by cooldowns. As long as Mike stayed alive, Emperor would always return.

Because of that, Mike let them fight this boss.

He acted as support.

He watched the battlefield carefully, adjusted buffs when needed, supplied mana, and gave commands. He let the lich and Emperor wear Leviathan down little by little.

This was not a fast fight.

It was a fight of endurance.

And Mike was prepared to see it through.

Time passed slowly.

Minutes turned into tens of minutes, and then longer.

Leviathan's movements were no longer as smooth as before. Its attacks were still powerful, but the timing was slightly off. The stacked curses were starting to show their effect.

Its scales were cracked in several places. Dark energy from the lich lingered on its wounds, preventing clean regeneration. Ice still formed around its body, but it was weaker than before.

Emperor took advantage of every opening.

He struck quickly, retreated, and attacked again. His speed allowed him to avoid direct hits, though he was still sent flying more than once.

Each time that happened, Mike activated healing scrolls on Emperor, restoring him and allowing him to rejoin the fight at full strength.

Mike winced as he used yet another healing scroll—this time on the lich.

"I'm burning millions here," he muttered, feeling the pain in his wallet. Still, he didn't stop. He knew the rewards would be many times greater than what he was spending.

"Okay, I can always earn the money back," he said under his breath. "This is important."

Leviathan's health had finally dropped to around 30%.

Its movements were noticeably slower now. The long, constant battle had drained it badly.

Unlike the lich, which could fight without limits, and Emperor, who kept receiving stamina buffs and healing, Leviathan had been fighting nonstop for over an hour.

Now, it was reaching its limit.

The Rank 2 boss was on its last legs.

Seeing that Leviathan had slowed down this much, Mike finally moved.

"This is it," he said calmly.

He activated some of his remaining buffs in one sequence. Strength enhancement. Defense boost. Mana reinforcement. Damage amplification.

A new surge of power spread through his body.

Mike stepped onto the ice-covered surface and moved forward carefully.

Leviathan noticed him immediately.

Even exhausted, the boss reacted on instinct. A massive water blade formed and shot toward Mike.

Mike used Phase Step and vanished, reappearing to the side just in time to avoid it.
