Mike used Phase Step and vanished, reappearing to the side just in time to avoid it.
Mike did not stop moving.
The moment he reappeared, he changed direction and ran forward. He kept his distance just enough to stay out of Leviathan's main attack range.
Leviathan tried to turn its head toward him, but its movement was slow.
The lich attacked from above, firing another wave of dark magic. At the same time, Emperor struck from the opposite side, tearing into the already damaged scales.
Leviathan roared and tried to fight back, but its attacks lacked force.
Mike saw the opening.
He rushed in and slashed at a cracked section of Leviathan's body. Black flames spread across the wound. He did not stay there and immediately jumped back.
Leviathan swung its tail, but the attack missed.
Mike repeated the process.
Attack once. Retreat. Reposition.
Each strike landed on damaged areas. Leviathan's health continued to drop, slowly but steadily.
The boss tried to gather ice and water mana again, but the buildup was weak. The lich's curses were still active, and its stamina was nearly gone.
Mike stayed focused.
He waited for the moment when Leviathan's movements slowed even more.
After another half hour, Leviathan's health dropped to 10%. Its body was completely beaten. It was no longer moving properly and was relying only on magic to attack.
Its entire body had turned black—not because of its scales, but because of the lich's curses. There were so many curses stacked on it that its corpse would be worthless unless cleansed by a priest-type class. However, for necromancers and cursed-class users, it would be extremely valuable.
"Lich, Emperor—hold him," Mike said. "I'm going to finish this."
The lich nodded.
Dark bone spikes shot out from the ground, pinning the already weakened Leviathan in place. At the same time, Emperor released a Sovereign Howl.
Normally, it would not have worked on Leviathan, which was two ranks higher. But now, weakened and heavily cursed, Leviathan was stunned.
Mike activated Valor Surge.
A red glow covered his body as his next attack power increased to 300%.
In the next moment, he raised the Black Mithril Knight Sword and slashed straight down at Leviathan's head.
"Black Flame Sword Art: Transcendence Cut!"
A condensed slash tore through space itself. It split Leviathan's head from the center and continued downward, cutting halfway through its massive body before stopping.

Mike looked through the notifications just as bubbles rose from the sea. A white chest emerged from the water and slowly floated toward the shore, stopping near him.
"My first boss chest," Mike said with a smile as he looked at it.
"It's crazy that my first boss chest came from a Rank 2 boss."
He walked over and opened it.
Inside were piles of gold coins, filling the chest almost to the top. Resting above the gold were three items:
• A long white scabbard katana
• Two skill books
Mike picked up the katana and inspected it.
[ Eternal Winter ]
[ Rank: Unique ]
Seeing this, Mike grinned.
"My first legendary sword is here," he said. "It's Unique now, but after Midas Touch, it'll become Legendary."
He stored the sword away and picked up the two skill books.
"Hmm… Ice Magic: Frost Cannon. A Rare-rank spell."
Then he picked up the second one—and froze.
"And this one is insane," Mike muttered.
"An Ice Elemental Summoning Skill, and it's Epic rank!"
Elementals were extremely powerful. Even a Common-rank elemental skill was valuable. No one in their right mind would ignore one.
And here he was, holding an Epic-rank Ice Elemental skill.
"I'm going to learn this," Mike said, then paused.
"But first, I need to check my affinities."
"If I don't have any affinity with it, I won't be able to form an contract with it" he mumbled and then he thought " No, I can bribe him, even Elementals will want to rank up right?"
He stored the skill books away along with the remaining gold.
Then he looked toward the lich.
"Can you revive Leviathan as undead?" Mike asked.
"And can I keep it?"
"If I can," he continued, eyes shining, 'I want it as a mount. I can even turn it into a Mythical rank later with Midas Touch.'
"Then I'll have two Mythical ranks," Mike laughed.
"One is Emperor, and the other will be this Leviathan."
"I can do it," the lich said calmly, "but you won't be able to sustain it."
Mike nodded. "Don't worry. I'll do it after I rank up. And thanks for slaying it—I think I can rank up with pretty good rewards now."
The lich turned its gaze outward.
"I can sense others nearing your undead patrol," the lich said. "They're holding them back for now, but soon they won't be able to."
Mike frowned. "What do you mean?"
"After the boss died, every being in this spatial realm felt it," the lich explained. "They're coming here. It's best if you leave now."
Mike nodded.
He quickly stored Leviathan's body into his inventory and prepared to move.
Mike hopped onto Emperor's back, and they began to leave. On the way, he canceled the lich summoning skill.
"Thanks for the help," Mike said. "I'll call you when there's another big fight."
The lich laughed crazily.
"Sure. You can even call me when you're massacring little ones, not just big ones."
With that, it vanished.
Mike also called back all the undead he had released earlier from Shadow grave.
