She…she suddenly heard some faint words deep inside her existence. Her eyes widened when she saw what it was!!
They were not spoken outloud, nor did she understand what language it was. It resonated deep within her spirit.
Aria's body shook, and a gentle heat spread from her core, circulating through her entire body. Her breath hitched, her arms trembled slightly, not from pain but an unfamiliar sensation of something moving and rearranging itself inside her.
She closed her eyes and clenched her fists, but remained still.
Deep inside her body, her [Spirit Seed] reacted; the seed shook slightly. The fire in her body began to move towards it. Thin lines of light began carving themselves on its surface, slowly and deliberately.
Aria frowned. The process wasn't painless. A dull ache spread across her chest as the strange markings began to form, threading and weaving themselves into the Spirit Seed. It was settling in rather than forcing through.
She gritted her teeth and endured. The heat intensified, causing her breath to hitch.
Finally, after an hour or so, the markings were finally engraved on the Spirit Seed.
They were simple, yet unrecognizable. The moment they stabilised, the heat receded. Aria exhaled softly.
Information surfaced naturally in her mind, without any confusion.
Refined Flame Physique
She raised her hand instinctively, and a small orange flame flickered on her palm. With a thought, the flame expanded, taking the shape of a long sword!
It was so dense that the moment it touched her sword, which was lying on the ground. It instantly incinerated it into ashes.
"This…will be enough to protect me before meeting him. I have to break through to the Origin Realm as fast as possible," Aria muttered, clenching her fists. The long sword made of fire slowly disintegrated.
Without looking back, she stepped towards the exit. Her blonde hair waved mesmerizingly.
…
A few days later
On a vast open plain, a small group of cultivators found themselves surrounded. Six men stood together at the center, their nerves tense and their expression wary. While eight women and a tall, handsome man blocked their possible route.
Rahu watched them amusingly, a playful smirk spreading across his mouth as they shifted uneasily under his heavy gaze. After a moment, one of the cultivators stepped forward, his hands trembling. But he forced a stiff smile that was uglier than his expression.
"Um, sir…may I ask what we, a bunch of low-level cultivators, owe the pleasure of meeting such…distinguished individuals?" he said, rubbing his hands nervously. The other nodded, hearing his words; they, too, were unsettled.
They were just low-level cultivators from House Rivera, wandering to test their luck.
Seeing their reaction, Xinyi shook her head and sighed inwardly. Anyone would be on edge in this pitiful soul's position—stopped out of nowhere by a stranger as terrifying as Rahu himself would make anyone shift uneasily.
The only plus point here was that he wasn't a hideous-looking man.
Rahu tilted his head slightly, a small chuckle leaving his lips. He didn't answer, yet the pressure in the air around him made it hard for the six men to breathe smoothly.
"Nothing in particular, just looking for a woman named Silveria. And…you'd better think before answering, if I am not satisfied with it, then…Heh." His gaze swept across each and every one of them.
Hearing his words, the faces of the men paled. They hurriedly looked at the guy who was leading them. The man standing in front of Rahu gritted his teeth and finally opened his mouth.
"Y-yes, she had entered a small dungeon a few days ago. A-And hasn't returned from it yet, so she should still be inside there." Saying that, he pointed in the direction they came from.
Following his finger, Rahu saw a huge mountain. In front of it was a large opening; it was likely the dungeon mentioned. It was just a few dozen miles away. Seeing this, a huge unnatural smile stretched across Rahu's face. The man shivered and hurriedly looked away.
He was beginning to feel guilty about the betrayal of his House, but seeing the smile of the man in front of him. He came to the conclusion that it was the best decision he had made.
"I see, alright, you guys can get lost," said Rahu. Raising his legs high, he kicked the man on his ass, sending him flying across the terrain, clenching his buttocks while screaming loudly.
"B-Bari!!!" The other men naturally didn't dare say; they hurriedly ran off, without looking back.
"Was it ok to let them go?" Thalia stepped forward and asked with a small frown on her face. She thought he would kill them and bury them here.
"Nah, letting them go or killing them doesn't make much of a difference. And since I finally heard some good news, I decided to be magnanimous today." Rahu shrugged; those cultivators were just some low-level runts.
There was neither any benefit nor any goal in killing them; it just wasn't that deep.
"Master…you sure are strange." Thalia shook her head with a small smile on her face. She liked his answer, and in the process, she gained a bit deeper understanding of his character and personality.
"But, Rahu, what if she were stronger than you, and at worst, what if she had some experts protecting her?" Lucy asked, her voice a bit concerned.
"...You dumb bimbo, there are nine of us, excluding a living Origin Realm cultivator annihilating cannon. It is they who should be concerned. Not the other way around," Rahu smirked. This girl was far too worried.
Although her argument was valid, it wasn't exactly accurate. There was a big 'if' here, and Rahu was sure there would definitely be other cultivators protecting her, or it would be plain stupid from House Rivera.
And stupid—they certainly weren't, hearing his words, Lucy pouted and huffed, glaring at the villain. She wasn't a bimbo, alright? She was a cute little girl.
"And secondly, who said we are going to attack her head on? You guys just follow the plan, I will handle the rest," Rahu spoke, his words easing her concern ever so slightly. She didn't even realize that she had become worried about a man to this extent, and no less for a man like Rahu.
