"Who is blushing? If you continue talking nonsense, believe it or not, I will beat you up." Kate said as she glared at Susan.
Susan was immediately intimidated by Kate. She understood that Kate was good at fighting, and already had records of beating up people, especially those who provoked her.
"Alright, I'm not teasing you anymore. But seriously, can you tell me what happened?" Susan raised her hands in admission before she asked.
"I confessed." Kate responded plainly.
"Huh?" Susan felt that she had not heard clearly what Kate had said, as she looked at her, obviously waiting for her to repeat what she had said.
But Kate did not have any intention of repeating herself. Instead, she just took out her phone, before she began scrolling through it.
"What?! Are you serious?! You actually confessed?! You, Kate of all people, actually confessed to a boy?!" Susan abruptly stood up as she looked at Kate with a shocked expression on her face.
She just found it impossible to believe that Kate, who usually hated those that tried courting her, was actually the one who took the initiative to confess to a boy. This was just too unbelievable.
Kate on the other hand did not react to Susan's barrage of questions. Instead, she just continued ignoring her, as she scrolled through the Internet, trying to find anything interesting.
It took quite a while for Susan to be able to calm down. Then, she looked at Kate without saying anything, as if trying to see if there was something out of place about her.
But no matter how much she looked at her, she could not see anything that indicated that Kate had changed. Was there a possibility that Kate was actually possessed by someone or a ghost?
"Can you stop staring at me like that? It makes me feel cringe." Kate could not hold it anymore as she glared at Susan's face that was directly in front of her face.
"Don't tell me, did you actually fall for him? Was all the effort that I was putting in, trying to set the two of you up, make me look like a clown to you?" Susan asked while gazing deeply at Kate.
She just found it unbelievable that Kate would confess to someone. The only reasonable explanation was that she might have actually fallen for that guy called Michael.
This made Susan even more interested in this guy called Michael. Just how incredible was he to the extent that he was able to make Kate confess to him?
Or, was it possible that Kate confessed to him due to the pressure from the family? Otherwise, she really did not find any other explanation, unless that guy was really good.
"What nonsense are you talking about? I only came to know that I have feelings for him today." Kate responded in a low voice.
"Seriously? And you confessed right away? Are you crazy? Anyway, tell me, what did he say? He agreed, right?" Susan closed in as she asked.
"He didn't-" Kate responded, but was unfortunately interrupted by Susan's exclamation.
"Are you serious? A beautiful lady like you, confessing to him, and he actually refused you? Is he actually trying to play hard to get?" Susan exclaimed as she found this outrageous.
How many young men wanted Kate to be their girlfriend? Yet, Kate never even considered them. But now, Kate had actually confessed to someone, and he refused?
Was this person not really interested in women, or was he just playing some game against Kate, after realizing that Kate did not really have that many options?
"Can you listen first?" Kate asked with a frown.
"Okay, go ahead, tell me, why did he even refuse? Do you know the reason?" Susan nodded quickly as she inquired further.
"Can you stop overthinking for a moment? Listen first, before you say anything. Anyway, he did not agree, but neither did he disagree. He said, it would be better for the two of us to get to know each other better first, before making a decision..." Kate went ahead and explained what had happened and the conversation that she had with Michael.
It was only then that Susan finally calmed down. At the same time, she nodded as she said, "It seems that you did not lie to me about his character. Such a man, he is definitely worthy of you."
"Can you stop exaggerating things? Not to mention his background which is better than mine, his abilities are beyond what is expected of someone his age. So, it might be that I am the one who might not be worthy of him." Kate shook her head as she responded.
At the same time, she thought about the skills that Michael had demonstrated so far. Incredible combat skills, with the ability of dealing with many people at the same time, even when they had guns.
Incredible gun handling, skilled at driving, and there was that particular charm about him, something that she just couldn't explain.
"Wow! I guess that my little girl friend here has gotten herself smitten by a man eventually. Maybe, I'm the only one that is going to remain single after all." Susan said, as though she was lamenting.
"Get lost!" Kate said playfully as she flicked Susan's forehead, causing her to flinch as she frowned while acting cute.
At this moment, the private room's door was suddenly opened. At first, the two ladies thought that it was the food being served. But, when they looked over, they realized that this was not the case.
Instead, the person who had entered the private room was a middle-aged man with a medium build, short brown hair, and gray eyes.
A casual short-sleeved shirt left his biceps exposed, with the compact muscles indicating the strength that he possessed.
As he approached, he was full of confidence, as though he had not just entered into a private room that belonged to someone else.
The two ladies immediately stood up, as they gazed at the man who had entered, with slight frowns on their faces. Neither of them could identify who this person was, and they had not invited anyone here.
"Excuse me sir, but could you have gotten the wrong private room?" Susan asked as she looked at the man warily.
The man did not respond, as he went ahead and took a seat, while gazing at the two ladies. Then, when the two ladies were getting impatient, the man raised his hand, to stop them from speaking.
He then looked at Susan and asked, "Young lady, could you please excuse us for a moment? There is something that I would like to talk to this friend of yours about."
"I'm sorry, but if there is anyone that should leave, it should be you. You have just barged into our private room without any invitation, and you are asking me to leave? We don't even know who you are." Kate was the one who responded.
She could not recognize this person, and from Susan's expression, she could tell that Susan did not know him either. So, why would he want to talk to her, especially alone?
No matter how much she thought about it, she could not find the reason why there would be someone who would come looking for her.
"I understand your concern. But, you don't have to worry. This is a public place, so, there is nothing that I will do to harm you. Additionally, I am here with good news. It should be able to help you with your quest for revenge. What do you think?" The man was calm, not the least bit affected by the attitude shown by the two ladies.
And as his words fell, the expressions of the two ladies immediately shifted. They looked at the man with even more caution.
They did not know him, but he knew about them. He knew that Susan was Kate's friend. And more than that, he knew about the fact that Kate always wanted revenge.
So, what could be the reason why he came to look for her? Was it possible that he was scheming something against Kate?
Susan's mind was filled with different ideas and possibilities, making her get closer to Kate, while cautiously observing the man that was still seated, looking at them.
"I'm sorry, but I'm not interested." Kate shook her head as she responded.
It was true that she yearned for revenge. But, it was not to the extent of cooperating with someone that she did not even know about.
What if this was just some scheme by someone? Maybe, they would promise her to help her in getting revenge, only to end up using her. Additionally, they might even be the enemies of her family, using such a tactic in order to deal with the Morgan family.
The man raised his brows slightly upon getting Kate's response. He then took a deep breath, before he stood up.
He showed the intention of leaving, but did not leave immediately. Instead, he looked at Kate and said, "There is a piece of paper on the table. You can consider this and contact me. You can do your own investigation, but let me tell you in advance. I'm only here for 2 days. On Monday, I will be leaving.
If you would not have made your decision by then, then you can just forget about this. But, if you wish for revenge, you can contact me, and I will give you the chance of getting your revenge."
Immediately after he finished saying those words, he left the private room, with the two ladies staring at the table, where unknowingly, a small piece of paper had appeared.
