Chapter 85: Expert Level Combat Skills

Previously, when he was reading, most of the content that he was reading did not stick in his mind at all.

But, this time, as he was reading, he realized, despite just running his eyes over the content of the document, he was able to remember the words in the first paragraph, when he reached the third paragraph.

It was as though his memory had been enhanced, allowing him to be able to completely remember everything that he had read before.

It was as though he had acquired photographic memory. Though, Michael was currently not sure if that really was the case, or it was just enhanced memory.

On the other hand, the speed at which he was reading at was faster than before. As compared to before, the speed was at least three times faster.

As he paused reading slightly, through observe the prompt that he had received from the system, Michael took a deep breath as he began thinking about something.

[Expert level of unarmed combat skills. Progress: 1%.]

Judging by how fast he was reading, did that not imply that his speed of acquiring skills would increase even further?

It was already kind of crazy for him to be able to earn over half a billion dollars in just a day. So, judging by this speed, would it be possible for him to be able to acquire two expert level skills a day?

Then, following this trend, would he not be completely invincible in this world within just a year, rather, just a few months?

As long as he put in the effort, he should be able to acquire most of the crucial skills in this world. Those skills that most of the people depended on during their daily activities, if he possessed all of them, who could challenge him?

Now, it seemed that he was not just going to conquer this world in terms of wealth, but even the skills would be the same. With such skills, he could dominate every field.

With excitement in his eyes, he just focused on reading, and without even knowing it, 2 hours had gone by.

It was then that Michael stopped reading once again. At this point, he had noticed something else that had changed.

Previously, it would have been impossible for him to be able to maintain such a high reading speed for two continuous hours.

After some time, he would have been forced to take a break, eat something so that he could recover some of his energy.

But now, even after 2 hours, his eyes did not feel like they were strained at all. It was almost the same as a normal person reading, without pushing themselves too hard.

Additionally, previously, he had anticipated, due to the enhancement brought about by the evolution serum, he would have an increased appetite.

That of course turned out to be true. It was just that, the frequency of eating did not seem to be as he had previously expected.

While it had already been 2 hours since he began reading, he was not yet feeling hungry.

During breakfast, he had made sure to eat until he was satiated. And, during these 2 hours, he had not even taken a short call's break.

As he was still puzzled about this, he received a piece of information in his mind from the system.

According to the information, it seemed that after he took the evolution serum, everything about him had been enhanced beyond the human limits.

It was not just about the physical capabilities such as strength and speed, but his internal organs had also been enhanced.

This had resulted to the cellular activity being higher than before, which led to higher metabolism. So, the food that he had eaten before, it was digested, with almost nothing left.

For this reason, a huge amount of energy was produced from the food. As for the wastes, they were broken down to the smallest level, preventing them from affecting him.

On the other hand, the ability of his body to maintain energy had also been enhanced. So, despite the increase in his cellular activities, his body was still able to save on some of his energy.

Of course, the only situation that would lead to him expending a lot of energy was if he was doing some physical activities. At that time, the energy consumption would increase.

This made Michael feel relieved. He was kind of worried that he might have to start walking around with food. Otherwise, if he started feeling hungry, and there was nowhere that he could get the food, it would be quite troublesome.

But with the way that things were at the moment, as long as he filled his stomach, it should not be much of a problem for him to be able to operate for quite a while.

Setting aside this matter, he continued reading. He wanted to make sure that by the time that he was heading to Sky Technologies, he would have already acquired the expert level unarmed combat skills.

....

At around 11:00 a.m., Michael finally completed reading the final page of the document.

[Experience full. Level up. Unarmed Combat Skill upgraded to expert level. +5,000 SP.]

Completely different from before, during the time that he acquired the expert level cyber security skill, this time, there was the immersion.

Michael experienced a dream where he was able to do things that were impossible for humans to do.

He could move with enough control to run along walls for short moments without losing balance. His reactions were sharp enough to sense attacks before they fully formed, letting him dodge or intercept them with ease.

Short bursts of movement carried him several meters in an instant, allowing him to close distance or evade strikes effortlessly.

Projectiles, whether thrown or shot, were no longer threats, as he could catch or redirect them mid-air. As for bullets, while from a very short range, he could not dodge them, he could still anticipate.

Just like during the battle that ended up with Dante dying, where he was able to dodge before the other person pulled the trigger, it was the same now.

Even though he had received enhancement, it was not to the extent that he could dodge bullets. His speed had not reached such a level.

But even then, this time, he was able to dodge bullets at a closer distance as compared to before. That was, he could react faster than before, allowing him to be able to dodge before the trigger was fully pulled.

As for his strikes, they carried focused power, strong enough to break through wood or crack solid surfaces when needed.

His awareness expanded to track multiple opponents at once, noticing subtle shifts in sound and movement.

Pain became something he could push aside, letting him keep fighting despite injuries.

Extreme conditions like heat, cold, or pressure no longer slowed him down.

He could move with enough explosive strength to leap over high obstacles in a single motion.

And in every encounter, his mind processed the situation instantly, predicting actions and adjusting his tactics before his opponents could react.

As the simulation ended, Michael was left amazed. This was the expert level? It was no wonder that he was not able to obtain the expert level combat skills unless his physique had been enhanced by the evolution serum.

For most of these things, it was impossible to be able to do, no matter how hard a person trained.

They might be able to achieve them in subtlety, but was absolutely impossible to be able to achieve to the same extent that the current Michael could.

'If I had been in an army, I would have been a nightmare for enemy soldiers.' Michael could not help but muse to himself.

If there was ever a soldier with the same capabilities as himself, Michael could not imagine how the enemies would try to use all methods possible, to try and eliminate them.

So, at this moment, Michael decided that unless necessary, he would not demonstrate such capabilities. And in fact, he was not planning on involving himself in conflicts that would lead to him being forced to dodge bullets.

It was already too much for him to deal with small gangsters in Drenn city, yet it ended up with him having to dodge bullets from several gangsters.

So, no matter how he operated now, he would try to avoid unnecessary conflicts. As for those conflicts that he could not avoid, he might as well just acquire bio humans, and give them the task of dealing with his enemies.

Currently, Adrian, with the capabilities that he had, he was just like Michael. And in fact, Michael thought that Adrian might even be at a level above him, though not by much.

So if he could acquire several bio humans from the system store, each one of them combat-focused, he could basically create an army for himself.

And as soon as he thought about this, he thought, if he started a bodyguard company, then bought several bio humans, would that not be amazing?

If it had been before, Michael would not have entertained this idea. After all, each bio human would cost SP. But with the rate of acquiring over 12,000 SP a day, why would he have to worry about spending a few SP?

Though, for now, he decided to set this matter aside for the time being. Instead, he went ahead and ate, before he departed from the apartment in his Koenigsegg Regera, heading straight for the Sky Technologies headquarters.
