Parasite didn't just wake up one day and became the Warlord, Parasite.
He is a Geneform.
Once, he was a baby. He had parents who gave birth to him. Once, he had a name, a real name, yet one day he decided to shed his old identity and embraced the new name, Parasite.
That day, the saga of the Warlord of Community G was born.
And the name Parasite, it is not without reason.
Parasite had the opportunity to choose other sick names like Scorpion, King, or even Devil, yet he settled on Parasite for a reason.
8:08am.
Parasite was killed, his head was severed, his brain started shutting down but in that moment, his ADE flared one last time, then the blood-red pendant that was always on his neck disappeared.
Thud!
The corpse finally collapsed to the ground.
It was dead.
There was no signs of life left in the Gene Augur's body. His heartbeat, everything shut down, Parasite's body was now and truly dead.
Everyone froze, staring in disbelief at the corpse, including Cell, Gary, Mary, Cain and Swain who fought their own battles in the other side and the Mechanists.
They froze in disbelief as they experienced a storm of emotions.
On the side of the rebels, emotions of relief and joy erupted while on the side of the Zmer gang Ascended, emotions of shock, despair, and fear took root in their minds.
Yet, at this moment, Talia was the only one whose eyes constricted as she stared at the corpse with a slightly uneasy feeling curling through her mind.
'Where's the pendant?'
She was the only one who instantly noticed the disappearance of the eye-catching blood-red pendant that was on Parasite's neck.
And then, more than 20 meters away from where Parasite's corpse was, a shrill scream suddenly erupted.
All eyes focused there instantly.
The scream came from the location where the trucks of the Zmer gang were, specifically, it came from one of the two surviving mundane thugs of the Zmer gang who hid there previously, watching the battle since.
At this moment, one of the thugs fell on his butt, scrambling back with a horrified look on his face as he stared in the direction of the side of the truck.
Talia traced the thug's gaze, then she saw him, the other thug.
Then she froze as all the hair on her body stood on end.
'This…!' Talia's eyes constricted.
Somehow, the blood-red pendant that was once on Parasite's neck was now sitting comfortably on the neck of this thug!
Then, something changed.
The thug's eyes glazed over as a look of horror appeared on his face. His eyes suddenly rolled to the back of his head, then…
CRACK!
The chilling sounds of bones being broken reverberated as it seemed like the spine of this thug was growing and changing, reorganizing his body.
"Arghhh…!"
The thug screamed in a mad and bone-chilling manner as his body began to contort, mutating!
Within just two seconds, the thug died, then the contortion of his body stopped. Yet, his heartbeat stopped for only three seconds.
Ba-dump! Ba-dump!
A new heartbeat started.
The thug died, but with his death, new life rose in his body, Parasite!
BZZZ!
A familiar orange ADE flared around the thug as his body grew taller, his skin contorting once again, including his face as he mutated and transformed.
And then, a familiar face emerged.
The thug became Parasite.
"…!"
A bone-chilling silence descended upon this battlefield.
Parasite's eyes regained focus as he observed his new body then he looked at his enemies, admiring the look of shock and horror on their faces.
He cackled. "Muahahahahahahaha!"
"Ahhh, the look of fear, it's so intoxicating!" His snake-like tongue slithered out, licking his lips in a creepy manner.
He looked at Talia. "Are you shocked? Are you surprised?"
"…" Talia was tongue-tied.
She tried to keep an even look on her face but at this moment, she felt all the hair on her body standing on end as she stared at the enemy she just beheaded with her knife look at her through a different body.
It was hard to keep composure.
She looked at Parasite's corpse, finding it truly dead, then she looked at the same face on the other side and her blood chilled. 'What is this?' She was tensed.
'What kind of ability is this?'
'Is it that pendant? Wait, it's an Artifact?!'
Parasite laughed on seeing the look on her face. "You finally found out, hahaha, what a dumb b*tch! Took you long enough". He mocked ruthlessly.
Talia pursed her lips but she didn't say a word as she maintained her silence.
Just like Talia, every person in this battlefield felt a chill run down their spines, not just the rebels but also Parasite's subordinates.
They were just as shocked and confused as the rebels.
Parasite laughed again, then he touched the blood-red pendant resting on his chest. He grinned and patted the pendant on his chest like an alpha. "I am Parasite, Warlord of Community G for a reason".
His grin widened. "This is Rose Bishop, an Artifact of the Gene Augur Class". He said with clear pride dripping in his tone.
"It's a D Rank Artifact of the Gene Augur Bioforger Specialization".
"You bums wouldn't know what a specialization means," he smirked, then he grinned again.
"This is why I am Parasite!" His voice boomed confidently.
"Rose Bishop is straightforward. It mutates my blood, giving it the abilities of a parasite. Whoever ingests my blood becomes my blood slave, my host".
"And guess what? I've had so many grand banquets this year, every single one of my subordinates has my blood inside them". He laughed.
Parasite looked at his subordinates, and except Cell the others felt a cold chill run down their spines as they shuddered.
'F*ck!' Alexander Cain cursed with a twisted expression on his face.
Parasite cackled maniacally like a mad man. "They think they're drinking wine. Yes, they're, but there's also a tiny portion of my blood inside the wine".
He barred his teeth like a wild beast and spread his arms proudly. "They're all my blood slaves!"
"And so long as I still have blood slaves and ADE to trigger Rose Bishop, heh, I can never die". His eyes gleamed maliciously. "Even if I die, even if my body is destroyed, I can always live again by hijacking a new body through my connection with my blood slaves".
"Years ago, I found this Artifact in an island on a dangerous expedition and I came back to land known as Parasite".
"It was not official yet though. Only last year did I finally get the opportunity to break the restriction around the Artifact and gain the ability to truly use it".
"Of course, it has a drawback of needing all the blood of a fully grown Geneform everyday as sacrifice," he grinned. "But that's a tiny sacrifice to pay for power".
He spread his arms like a God. "This is why I am who I am".
"I cannot be killed".
"I am Parasite".
Parasite smiled in a sadistic manner, taking pleasure in the raw fear and despair now revealing in the face of his enemies.
Not just in his enemies, but also in his subordinates but he didn't care.
They were all his.
They all belonged to him, all their lives was worth was becoming his blood slaves. It was their privilege to be his blood slaves.
He snickered. "Are you afraid? Are you scared? Are you feeling despair?"
"Heh, I won't kill you if you promise to pledge your allegiance to me. Bow to me, call me Lord, become my blood slave and I'll spare your life".
Then suddenly, Talia snickered back and smiled. "Nice try".
Hearing that, Parasite's face darkened as he glared at her but Talia showed no signs of fear as she looked back calmly into his predatory blood-red eyes.
She chuckled in exhaustion. "Here I was thinking the Artifact gave you the heaven-defying powers of a God. You're really good at hyping yourself up, aren't you? What a narcissistic bastard".
"Is that how you became the leader of the Zmer gang?"
Parasite's face darkened even further but Talia didn't flinch.
"All that Artifact turns you into is an unkillable cockroach, it doesn't make you a dominating Dragon, so drop that condescending tone, ant".
BZZZ!
Parasite's orange ADE flared aggressively as he glared at the rebel but Talia fearlessly stared back into his eyes.
"At first, I was truly scared but your mistake was telling us the drawback of the Artifact. It made me overcome my instinctual fear of something I don't understand, restoring my ability of rational thinking".
"It's just a D Rank Artifact," she said casually. "And not an offensive one either. It helps you survive, not fight, so it's a supportive Artifact".
"It doesn't make you suddenly capable of defeating us". Talia gestured at her allies, reminding Parasite that she still had the advantage.
"Besides, it should have limitations. I don't believe that this Artifact can allow you hijack the body of a blood slave that's all the way in Canyon Hub or Leviathan Quay," she grinned. "Or should I say, all the way back in Community G?"
She chuckled. "I believe it has a range limitation".
She looked at the corpse of the original Parasite, then back at his new body.
"That's just 20 meters away," she tilted her head. "I'm guessing the true range and limitation of that Artifact is that you can only hijack the body of your blood slaves within a range of 100 meters or at most 200".
"Am I right?"
Parasite didn't respond, he just glared at her.
Talia didn't mind.
"Killing you is simple," her grin widened. "All we have to do is kill all your blood slaves within a range of 100 to 200 meters, and then you become mortal again".
Parasite stared at her as his face became increasingly contorted.
Seeing this, her face twisted with a dark and humorless smile. "So, I'm offering you a chance too, ant. Kneel and bow before me, call me Lord, and perhaps I will spare your life".
Parasite's face became exceedingly dark as he spat. "B*TCH!"
Talia laughed. "That's what fools say when they've lost an argument".
She idly threw her plasma knife up and caught it, then she fiddled with it before tilting her head and looking at Parasite with a cold look on her face.
"So, what's it going to be home boy?"
"Fight or surrender?"
