The Crowned Greed: Transmigrated into a Demonic Dragon

Chapter 111: Home

The new treehouse was made of three underground floors, each of them filled with rooms that had different purposes.

The wood of the entire treehouse was dyed with magical black dye. It provided warmth to the treehouse, enhanced the durability of the wood, and prevented sound from leaving the underground, making it appear silent on the surface.

The first floor contained only three rooms for now, all separated by simple gates.

The first room was for meeting anyone that would come from the outside, like Ruby. It only had a long table surrounded by chairs and some lamps hanging on the ceiling.

The second room had a ladder that led down to the other two floors, as Ruby suggested cutting the stairs at the first floor.

As for the third room, it was storage for anything that Dante would sell to Ruby.

The second floor was made for comfort. It contained the bedroom, the bathroom, the kitchen, and an empty library, which had only two books and one notebook for now.

'The chaos magic book can't be displayed recklessly. Even if this place is hidden, someone might sense the chaos energy leaking from the book.'

Lastly, the third floor.

It contained a large training area for practicing swordsmanship and testing some small attacks. Dante didn't want to take many risks by testing his attacks outside.

As he examined the room, he noticed that it was covered with a different type of wood.

'It's more durable and can block my attacks. Of course, I'm not planning to attack it to begin with. I'll just create some dummies and hope that no attack could affect the room.'

The next room was just a workshop, where Dante would practice whatever he'd learn about the runes.

Then there was a large storage room.

'It's empty, but it might be useful later. My ring doesn't have infinite space, and the Cores of Existence are taking a lot of space."

Finally, the last room was the formation room, which was the treasure room previously.

It contained the activation array of the formation, some mana crystals for emergencies, and the escape method.

"It's perfect!" Dante placed his hand on Ruby's head again and teleported with her three times.

Eventually, he reached the surface and looked at the tree.

The entrance was now hidden once again, showing that it was simply a normal tree. But if Dante infused his mana into it, the entrance would open automatically.

Everything was perfect in Dante's eyes. In the past, he wouldn't have imagined in his wildest dreams that he'd have such a place as his own home.

'This is even better than I ever imagined. It's either building such houses is easy as long as you have money or this bitch is talented!'

Dante's eyes fell on Ruby. Her arms were crossed and she had a grin on her face.

"I know, I know. It looks like a masterpiece, right?"

Dante's eyes twitched at her shamelessness, but unfortunately, he couldn't agree more with her.

"Yes, it's a damn masterpiece!" Dante's eyes sparkled as he remembered that he promised to give her a small gift.

He brought his hand to his pocket and secretly used his ring to bring three mana crystals.

When Ruby saw his hand moving to her, she didn't hesitate to grab the mana crystals like a thief: "Hehehe— Cough! I mean, thank you so much, sir!"

Dante suppressed a chuckle before remembering something else: "Wait, I'll give you a few things to sell, give me some time."

Without waiting for her response, Dante teleported away and used his ring to retrieve the corpses of the beasts he had killed.

Afterwards, he returned to her with the corpses, dragging them with a shadow wipe.

Ruby excitedly examined all the corpses before buying them for 2 mana crystals. None of them were meant to be sold to begin with, as the corpses were mutilated, so the price was understandable.

"By the way…" Ruby looked at her carriage: "You know that I'm also an alchemist, right? I have some potions that I want to sell. Do you want to check them and see if anything would interest you?"

Dante rubbed his chin thoughtfully before shrugging: "Why not? Lead the way."

Ruby struggled with dragging the corpses as she moved forward. She showed a few hints that she wanted Dante to help her, but he pretended that he didn't notice.

Why?

Because he was bored.

When they finally reached the wagon, Ruby dropped the corpses and showed her potions.

"This one is a rank 1 stamina potion." Ruby raised an orange potion: "It's useful for when you're tired and need a small push—!"

"HAHAHAHAHA!"

"DAMN YOU!"

All of a sudden, Ruby and Dante heard some noises from the carriage. Before they could mutter a word, Jin suddenly kicked the door open, carrying Ms. Agnes on his back.

"What the hell?!" Dante's jaw dropped instantly as he shouted: "Why is she dead?!"

Once Ruby heard him, her face paled in shock: "D-dead? Jin, did you kill her?!"

Jin looked at them and waved happily: "Yo, you're finally out, huh? Were you having so much fun inside?"

"Just answer the damn question!" Dante gritted his teeth. Simultaneously, Ryan left the carriage with a deadpan expression.

"Hm? You're talking about this old grandma?" Jin glanced at Ms. Agnes: "Why would I kill her? She died by herself! I'll bury her body behind Storm of Shadows, I'm sure he'll be happy to have a woman beside him."

Jin suddenly grinned: "But most importantly, I won the bet and Ryan will have to buy me some drinks!"

"I'm sure you cheated!" Ryan shook his head: "I took a small nap and woke up to see her dead. You definitely did something to her!"

"Motherfucker, I didn't!"

"You did!"

"Just admit you lost and buy me the damn drinks."

Dante watched them argue about the bet in a daze. They ignored that someone had just died and thought that a bet was more important.

Looking to his right, he saw that Ruby's expression softened and returned to normal.

'Yeah, why would she care about someone dying of old age? So long as Jin didn't kill her by himself, then it wasn't her problem.'

They didn't care about whether she had a family or friends. They planned to bury her body and forget her.

'I should have asked her about the notebook before her death.'

Dante's only regret was not asking about the source of the colors notebook. He didn't care about her life too.

In fact, he guessed that she probably died from his luck and the spell that he used on her. Dante was technically the one who killed her.

But he didn't care.

She tried to scam him, she recklessly stepped into his misfortune range, and she didn't show any regret or even try to apologise.

The old Dante would have felt some guilt, but the current one didn't feel anything. He watched her corpse like watching the corpse of an insect.

After burying her body quickly, Dante bought a few potions from Ruby and asked her for a few things before waving to her as she left with Jin and Ryan.

Dante was now left alone in his new house.

Only one thing remains in order to make his day perfect.

'I'm going to spend the entire night in the bathroom!'
