The Crowned Greed: Transmigrated into a Demonic Dragon

Chapter 113: The Giants

The shortest stood at three meters tall, while the tallest of them was over five meters tall.

They were clad in different types of armor and didn't hesitate to kill the soldiers of the Holy Kingdom.

They were the giants, or more specifically, the military of Uldor.

"I NEED SUPPORT!"

"BE CAUTIOUS OF ATTACKING EACH OTHER!"

"GET OUT OF MY WAY!"

The soldiers of the camp engaged in close combat with the giants.

The archers rained on them with colorful arrows, infused with mana and spiritual energy that carried many different aspects.

The tanks, who were soldiers equipped with heavy shields, blocked most of the heavy attacks.

The scouts worked on observing the battlefield, providing the soldiers at the back with all critical information.

The main attackers moved across the battlefield with light weapons, hunting as many giants as they could.

The size of the giants made them easy targets and prevented any confusion between them and the soldiers of the camp.

But as that size seemed to be a disadvantage, it actually carried a big advantage.

"EVADE!" A soldier shouted as a large hammer swung toward him.

CRACK!

Ha barely had the time to crouch before the hammer passed above him.

Without hesitation, he attacked with a wind attack, throwing the hammer giant backward. But as he looked to his right, he saw one of the soldiers in an unrecognisable form that made him almost vomit.

The soldier's armor was pressed by the heavy hammer until it was flat, turning the soldier who was inside into a mess of bones and blood.

"Damn the giants!"

The surviving soldier was certain that the giant was Rank 1 like the smashed soldier, yet the gap in their physical strength was too depressing.

That was because the stats weren't everything.

Even for two people with the same vitality and race, a fat person couldn't be compared to someone full of muscles.

The difference was even bigger when comparing a small human to a giant—their sizes allowed them to carry more strength despite the same vitality.

It was similar to Dante. Although his vitality was spread across his entire body, his demonic arm was still stronger than the normal one.

The soldiers at the camp didn't understand why the giants attacked suddenly, but they didn't doubt their eyes.

The higher-ups especially knew that the giants were attacking frequently nowadays.

That was war, and they were protecting an important strategic area. They didn't need to think too much.

But as they were barely keeping themselves alive, they couldn't protect the entire camp from the giants and their different classes.

Some giants were able to sneak into the camp.

"Elizabeth, come over here!"

"Coming!"

"Wait, stop my friend's bleeding first!"

"G-give me a second—"

"Another serious condition!"

"Someone is about to die!"

"Where is the healer!"

"Please have some patience, I'm doing my best!"

In the healer tent, Elizabeth was overwhelmed by the number of injured soldiers.

She was the main healer, and Mira wasn't an expert in healing. They were only two of them, their numbers simply weren't enough to help everyone!

'Who thought that it'd be a great idea to put only one fucking healer in an entire camp!' Dante wondered in frustration as he watched Elizabeth panicking.

But deep inside, he knew that the Holy Kingdom had no other choice. The number of healers wasn't that many to begin with, and the real war was blazing at the western side of the kingdom where even some Masters were involved.

Because of that, having a Rank 1 healer on any other side of the Holy Kingdom was already a luxury.

Some camps didn't have healers at all!

Therefore, Mira and Elizabeth had no choice but to endure the pressure silently.

Fafnir didn't watch Elizabeth and Mira silently either. He had been using some healing herbs to help the soldiers.

After a few minutes, Elizabeth finally felt her mana pool becoming empty, so she quickly swallowed a mana crystal without thinking.

The number of injured soldiers was already so significant that they almost filled the entire tent. Every bed had at least three soldiers sleeping next to each other, and the floor barely had space for Elizabeth and Mira to move.

"Argh, my head…" Michael finally woke up, feeling intense pain all over his body, but all that pain couldn't be compared to the pain of his stomach.

Michael felt like he hadn't eaten a single meal for weeks. The pain felt as though his stomach was so desperate it started digesting itself.

As he tried to stand up, he felt a hand pushing him back onto the bed.

"Don't move. Your wound isn't healed completely, you have to rest."

Hearing a familiar voice, Michael blinked a few times until his vision cleared. Then he immediately saw Elizabeth smiling softly at him despite how tired she was.

Michael scanned his surroundings only to be shocked by the sight of injured soldiers, then he began to regain his memories.

"How am I not dead?" Michael looked at his stomach in a daze before shaking his head: "Wait, wait, wait. Did the fight end?"

BOOM!

As if answering Michael's question, another explosion echoed through the camp.

"Just relax and don't worry." Elizabeth patted his shoulder before moving away: "I have to go now. Don't exhaust yourself!"

Michael looked at her in a daze before carefully lying down.

'Did she save me? But I was on the wall at the edge of the camp.' His eyebrows furrowed as he tried to remember, but he eventually assumed that someone carried him here.

'But why did that giant attack me first? I don't look that dangerous! Hell, I didn't want to be here to begin with!' Michael almost cried internally as he thought about his current situation.

BAM!

"..."

Another loud sound… but this one was different.

Everyone in the tent froze as they realized that it was very close to the tent.

Something was happening, and it was dangerously near.

Fafnir quickly held Elizabeth's hand and wrote "I will check it quickly."

Without waiting for her response, Fafnir left the tent through one of the holes and checked the source of the sudden sound.

But as he was about to use Shadow Detection…

"Huh?"

Fafnir heard a confused voice from behind him.

Looking to his right, Fafnir and Dante understood what caused the previous sound.

At this moment, they shared one thought.

'Shit…'
