Yuri walked up the staircase, stumbling on her face occasionally along the way. The self-proclaimed robot looked hilarious to the others watching. Though, none of them would start doing that as it would feel rude. Instead, they watched her stumble on her face and get back up each time.
"I am simply calibrating," Yuri said. "Once the calibrations finish, my modules will be used to this body."
Elanore snickered as the bot crashed on her face again when she reached the hallway. "Calibrating my fang...It will take you forever to calibrate anything like this."
"Acknowledged. Calibrating new structure…"
The stone golem stumbled much less when she was on flat ground. She used her stone arm to support herself against the castle walls along the hallway. It took a lot for her to get used to it, but she somehow managed not to fall on her face anymore.
Bery felt a warm glow coming from the creature, and the kitten smiled. "Are you happy, Yuri?"
"Yes, administrator...This must be happiness. Or it's simply the feeling of this unfamiliar mana flowing into me, and my gadgets are calibrating how to best use it."
Bery tilted her head. "You look much happier."
"How does she look much happier?" Elanore asked with a frown. "If you ask me, she doesn't look any different at all. People usually smile when they are happy, and this piece of rock doesn't even have a mouth."
Emary shook her head. "I, for one, agree with Bery. I can feel the nature of her happiness in the warmth around her body. I didn't even know that golems could become happy."
Yuri turned her circular, rocky head to Valerie. "May we go outside, Lady Valerie? I would like to calibrate what the world looks like from this new body."
"In other words," the dragon said, "you want to see what the outside looks like."
Though the golem didn't respond, but Bery knew that she wanted to see the outside world. The kitten wondered how long it had been since Yuri had been able to see the world with her own eyes. Was she part of that large space ship golem? I don't even know what a space ship golem is.
They led Yuri outside, and the golem took in the atmosphere. Her wooden bits seemed to become more vibrant, a few leaves sprouting from her in the sunlight. A bird flew and landed on Yuri's wooden arm and cawed.
"Strange bird creature detected. Calculating best response…"
A small piece of fruit grew next to one of Yuri's leaves, and the bird chirped happily. It pecked at the fruit and took it into its beak before flying away.
"Acknowledged."
Yuri tried to run back to the group to report her findings, but she stumbled and fell on her face again. However, before Valerie could rush to pick her up, the golem tried to stand on her own. She used her wooden arm and her stone arm to push herself up off the ground.
"Successful calculations," Yuri said, standing back up in the warm sunlight. "Notice. Bird creatures love fruits."
Bery giggled and walked over to the construct, giving her a pat on her stone head. Though, the kitten was so small, she could only pat the bottom of the smooth stone.
"You are still talking like that, Yuri? Where did you learn how to speak like that anyway?"
"It was part of my programming, Administrator. Everything is in accordance with the ones who made me."
"The ones who made you? You mean like your parents?"
Yuri shook her stone head. "Yuri has no parents. I am an artificial intelligence construct who was built to mimic humanoid speech patterns and knowledge."
Emary walked over more confidently. "I think I know what she means. You are like a mana core that someone created, right?"
Yuri shook her head yet again. "No mana core. Fundamentally, I am not made of mana at all."
Elanore sighed. "She is getting more and more confused every second. All beings are made of mana, even constructs."
Yuri blinked her round glowing eyes several times. "Acknowledged. Adding this to my data base. All beings are composed of mana, even constructs."
"You don't have to repeat what I say. Still, you are the most interesting golem I've ever seen. Most of them don't even know how to speak properly."
Yuri asked if she could continue to roam around, and they obliged her request. The golem took in the world with her glowing eyes.
The group couldn't help but find the thing adorable. Yuri would walk over to a plant and try to bend down to look at it. She would find a group of bugs and say that she's filing them into her database.
No matter how Bery looked at it, she couldn't see anything other than a helpless child that tried to sound smart. The rock golem would attract small animals with her fruits, and she would feed them. Then she would document their behavior.
Eventually, the golem got much better at walking. She stumbled less and less, and her movements became more fluid. Bery had to admit that Yuri was a fast learner. Even the fruits that Yuri grew seemed to be magical in nature. The kitten couldn't help feel slightly envious of Yuri's ability to learn magic. Even if it was small fruits, doing that in a singular day was much more than Bery could handle.
Time passed quickly with the excitement of their new friend. When it became dark outside, Yuri was already a walking adept. She only stumbled once every two-hundred steps or so, and she would always make the excuse that it was about her calculations.
Just like a little kid that is too afraid to admit her mistakes. Bery giggled at the thought.
Valerie grabbed the kitten's waist and leaned down, kissing her neck.
Bery's face went red. "Not in front of the others…"
"Didn't you notice, kitten? Those two already went inside. I guess you were too focused on your little golem friend."
The golem in question bent down and plucked a blue flower from the ground. She walked over and reached out with her wooden hand towards Bery.
"Is this for me?"
Yuri nodded. "It is my understanding that humanoids love gifts. I don't have anything else that I can give you, Administrator. I calculated several possibilities and decided that you would like this flower the most."
Bery grinned and reached for the flower, clutching it to her chest. "Gifts aren't about calculations, silly. They are about what you and the other person feels in their heart. Thank you for giving it to me."
Yuri nodded. "Acknowledged. I will calculate the meaning of heartful exchanges."
Bery giggled and sniffed the flower. "It smells wonderful. I will take good care of it."
Valerie looked towards the golem and smiled. "You really are so well-behaved. You would make for a great maid in a castle if you had a different form."
Yuri blinked several times. "A maid...Acknowledged."
"It's about time for us to acknowledge the bed in our room. While I'm sure my kitten would love for you to get more worldly experience, I cannot let her stay up all night. She needs her daily beauty sleep."
The three of them walked back into the castle, and Valerie gestured down the hallway.
"Do you need help getting back to your room, Yuri?"
The robot shook her head. "I have calculated that this trip will not be a difficult one."
Bery laughed. "You calculated a lot today, and you still fell down. Will you really be okay?" She looked towards her dragoness. "Shouldn't we help her after all?"
Valerie shook her head. "I have faith that she will make it to her bedroom fine. You saw it too. She has gotten much better at walking. It's at times like these when we should let our child experience a bit of freedom."
"Our child?" Bery asked, cheeks reddening.
"Well, is it not so? We made love, and then she came out of you. It's only natural that we'd consider Yuri our child."
Bery's face flushed even more, and she waved Yuri away. "Okay, okay! I get it. I believe that you can make it there by yourself."
"Thank you, Administrator Bery."
The golem walked away from them down the hallway, and the two watched her.
Valerie rubbed her finger against her bottom eyelid. "It brings a tear to my eye to watch our offspring walk away with steady steps. Just look at her go."
"Don't pretend to cry!" Bery bit down on Valerie's arm.
"Like I said, a kitten will need to sharpen her teeth for hundreds of years before biting me. Perhaps I should take you to the bedroom, and we can start making another baby?"
Bery felt a fire building inside of her. The dragoness pushed her against the wall and stole the kitten's lips. By the time Valerie let go of her, Bery was panting and moaning like a cat in heat.
"Absolutely delicious...I will acknowledge every part of your wonderful body tonight, my lovely kitten."
