Jobless Transmigration: I'm the only one who loves monsters.

Chapter 78: Am I becoming a Disney Princess?

' You want me to let you go suck the life out of some innocent person? Not a chance.'

Su who was busy reading, shifted her gaze from her book to him when she heard some rattling sounds but all she saw was his back view. She returned her focus to her book since she didn't see anything wrong with her young master.

After struggling around for a while, the amulet eventually calmed down and dropped on his open palm, looking inanimate all of a sudden.

Lucius let out a sigh of relief now that the amulet or should he say, the female ghost had given up on trying to escape.

He noticed that she also didn't try to drain his transparent energy like she did before which was a good sign.

Now that it was clear to him that she was afraid of him, he felt a lot more relived holding the amulet. But he was still puzzled as to why the female ghost was so frightened of him.

He wore the amulet around his neck and pondered about it.

Thinking back to it, she looked completely mortified after fleeing from his body after her failed attempt to possess him.

' Is there something particular about my body?' Lucius wondered but dispelled the idea, sure it might be practical to say that his body might be something ghosts abhorred but for it to have forced her into such a state was a completely different matter.

He wondered if her haggered look back then might've had something to do with his Grimoire but, thinking back to that moment, his Grimoire never reacted even once throughout their altercation.

With that memory in mind, he was sure it wasn't his Grimoire, which left the question.

' Just what was it that had her fleeing for her life....' Lucius stared at his hands in silence. Forgetting that he was here to read.

Lucius spent most of his time at the library, trying to figure it out but eventually gave you and went back to reading.

Like that, he and Su spent a few hours in there until it was noon.

" I think we've read about enough for one day." Lucius closed the book Infront of him that read, Gruneville Politics, on its cover.

" What say you we leave this dusty books and head out to the patio for lunch."

" Lunch? But you prefer eating lunch in your room, young master Lucius." She mumbled.

" Well my room isn't exactly an ideal location for the three of us." Lucius said, Su who was confused at first, finally realized what he meant.

" Of course, as you wish. I'll go and prepare it for your arrival." Su said, she bowed lightly, she placed back her books on the shelves before heading out the door.

" Oh and Su, don't forget to add lots of sweets, I wouldn't want to disappoint the little angel, alright."

" As you wish young master." Su nodded, leaving through the door yet an small smile made its way onto her face at that moment.

Lucius held the amulet in his hand, staring at it for a moment.

' Perhaps this isn't a complete loss, if she's able to feed off me, maybe i could use her as a weapon of my own if the need arises.' He thought to himself before shifting his focus towards the books on his desk.

" But first, let's place these back so that I can hurry on and join them." Lucius held the books in hand, making his way towards the various shelves he got them from.

Morningstar Estate, in front of the mansion.

There parked a nice looking carriage. The coachman got off and opened the door, allowing a exquisitely dressed silhouette to be viewed.

" Lily it's been too long." A red haired girl came down from the carriage to meet Lucius's young sister who had already come to greet her.

" Camila, it's been awhile." Lily embraced Camila, the both of them jumping with joy like school girls who's friend had returned from a summer trip.

" How was your visit to your brother-in-law's. I'm sure it must've been delightful." Lily clasped her friends hands in-between her's, her eyes shimmering like stars.

Camila giggled towards her friends excitement, she'd known Lily for being one for gossip.

" I'll tell you everything, but first, let's head inside." Camila raised her hand upwards, briefly using it to shield her face from the sun. " It's too bright out at the moment."

" Of course of course, let's head to my room then." Lily practically dragged her friend along.

On there way through the mansion, they happened to run into lady Hana.

" Camila dear, is that you?" Lily's mother chuckled on seeing the both of them, just as inseparable as she could remember.

" Greetings Aunty." Camila greeted lady Hana with a curtesy and warm smile.

" My dear, it's been to long." Lady Hana nodded. " How're your parents if I may ask."

" They're doing splendidly, Aunty."

" That's good to hear." Lady Hana looked quite pleased with such. " Well I can the both of you are in the midst of something, best not to keep you."

" Lily, don't forget to treat our dear guest with as much hospitality as needed."

" Yes mother." Lily said, before turning to face her friend. The both of them giggled as they hurried along.

" So, tell me. I want to know everything." Camila bore witness to lily's dazzling smile, the both of them seated on her bed in her chambers.

" Let's see, where shall I begin." Camila pressed a finger on her luscious lips, a teasing smile on her face.

She began to tell her friend how her visit to her brother-in-law's estate went, she had gone there to visit her sister prior but ended up enjoying herself more than she had expected.

" You should've seen him in person, Lily. So elegant, so refined."

" I must say, even though I was there as a guest, he never failed to make me feel comfortable. The Viscount's charm was more than I expected."

" Camila. Are you saying you'd steal your own sisters husband."

" Of course not." She replied quickly. " I'd never do such a thing." She said, her voice turning softer. " I'm just saying that... It wouldn't be so bad if I had someone like that by my side." She pursed her lips, then let out a sigh.

But the next moment, a strange light flashed past her eyes. " By the way...."

" No." Lily giggled. " If you're going to ask like you always do, I'm afraid he still hasn't talked about you since you're departure." Camila's expression deflated after hearing Lily's words.

" But don't let it bother you." Lily said, trying to cheer her best friend up. " You know how he is. My brother really isn't the most social person."

" And yet he still has so many bettys and admires hovering around him." Camila mumbled, twirling a stray strand of her hair along her ear.

" Oh, please don't say that. Even if he does have a lot, don't forget that I'm only on your side." Lily leaned into her friends face. " I'm practically the only woman besides my mother that he doesn't avoid so much."

Camila's expression softened at this point. She straightened herself, looking slightly determined.

" So where is your brother by the way."

" I don't know, probably painting in his room."

Camila pouted and blew a puff of air onto her friends face.

" I wasn't talking about lavender, she said.

" I know, I was simply joking." Lily giggled, before placing a finger against her chin as if pondering the question. " To be honest, I'm not quite sure."

" And why is that?" Camila blinked, eyes filled with curiosity.

" My big brother has been behaving... How should I put this." She began, her eyes avoiding Camila's gaze.

" Differently since the past few days." Lily managed to say, an awkward smile on her face.

" What do you mean by different. He's not ill, is he." Camila's expression turned worried, subtly leaning in closer towards Lily.

" No, no, no. He's not ill, it's just..." Lily paused, not knowing what to say.

' How should I tell her that big brother suddenly switched characteristics. I understand that he says he's doing this to sway father but I can't help but feel that he's become a completely different person.' Lily thought to herself.

" Why don't we go see him, I'm sure you'll understand once you meet him." Lily said, chuckling in a helpless manner.

" Alright." Camila nodded, though she looked calm, she was quite interested in knowing what her friend meant.

' If he's not sick, then what could it be.' Camila thought to herself.

Meanwhile, At the patio within the gardens, not too far from Lucius's room. Three people were busy, seated before a table, spread with sweets and all sorts of dessert items like cake, scones, pudding e.t.c.

" I must say, Su, you've truly outdone yourself this time." Lucius stared at the scrumptious spread in amazement.

" I'm honored by your praise young master Lucius." Su nodded.

' I think there's enough sugar here to knock out a few office workers and yet.' A helpless smile emerged on his face as he watched little Emily who had long began to gorge down on the food items.
