Others Awaken SSS-Rank Classes, I Summon Calamities

Chapter 55: Village Head

Arthur and the two didn't encounter anyone suspicious as they walked through the path of the village all the way down to the center.

Along the way, the gazes of all the youths were attracted to Titan who was moving like a mountain, his boots clashing against the ground and causing a thunderous sound to echo as they walked.

The sight of the monstrous dragon knight clad in dragon armor drew the gazes of everyone as they passed.

Murmurs spread among the villagers, and ignoring them, Arthur's group finally reached the center of the village.

Normally, the houses in the outskirts were wooden and along the way the wood seemed to increase in quality before they finally reached the village head's house, which was akin to a two storeyed building.

Arthur was slightly impressed by the design built into the house.

Although it was nothing compared to the buildings back at the academy, it was still surprising to see this level of craft here in such a village.

Aella stepped forward and lightly knocked on the door.

There was a brief silence, and only when Aella knocked the second time did the door swing open and a middle aged man who looked to be in his fifties stood there staring at them curiously.

"To what do I owe the pleasure of the visit?" The middle aged man had an air of superiority as he stared at Arthur and the others.

"Are you the village head?" Aella asked calmly.

The man scanned the trio before his eyes moved to the towering Titan behind them.

He hesitated briefly before nodding. "Yes, I am the village head. What is this visit about?"

An alert expression instantly appeared on his face and his stance changed. It was clear he was ready to run away at the slightest sign that these people had come to attack him.

Aella flashed him a warm smile that seemed to soothe his nerves a little.

"We're here concerning the dungeons that have appeared here recently."

"Oh?" The village head was immediately surprised.

Raising a brow, he asked, "Are you serious about that?"

Aella nodded and replied, "I and my classmates came on a mission to clear the dungeons here."

"Classmates?" The village head stared at Aella and her group with a dumbfounded expression, then his gaze shifted to Titan.

Was that also considered a student?

If he was a student, how did the others stand a chance against him?

Aella seemed to know what he was thinking and immediately chuckled.

"It's just the three of us. He is… a special case."

The village head nodded, agreeing with her words.

Among the group, the one who gave him the most pressure was Titan and he didn't know why, but staring into those golden eyes felt as though he might be devoured whole at any moment.

"Okay. Come in so we can discuss better." As he finished speaking, the village head widened the gap of the door to reveal the interior.

Aella glanced around cautiously before stepping inside.

Arthur and Jason followed her in.

The door was too narrow for Titan to enter, so he stood there silently, staring at Arthur as though asking what he should do.

"Just use your space element to enter." Arthur waved his hand casually at Titan the moment he stepped inside.

Titan's eyes lit up as he vanished from his location, appearing beside Arthur.

A devastating pressure descended upon the house as the ground where Titan stood caved in, causing dents to appear in the rug beneath his feet.

The pupils of the village head dilated instantly as alarm filled his heart.

Such an element meant he wouldn't even know when he was killed.

Breaking out in a cold sweat, he forced a smile and turned to the trio.

"Let's discuss…"

He gestured to the seats in the room for Arthur and the others to sit down.

The three glanced at each other before selecting places to sit.

The village head didn't dare sit and instead stood nervously as he began explaining.

Under Titan's terrifying gaze he constantly felt his head might be chopped off at any moment, so as he spoke his body movements were slightly fidgety and he stammered.

"It happened more than three weeks ago. More than six E rank dungeons appeared simultaneously in different parts of the surrounding villages. The outbreak of one of these dungeons led to the death of countless lives and the Umbra village was the first to fall victim to it, losing all the villagers."

The village head sounded saddened by his own words.

He sighed and continued.

"Since then we don't dare tread in the Umbra lands. And we also try to stay away from the marked locations of the dungeons as much as possible."

Hearing his words, Arthur's eyes flickered with thought as he couldn't help asking,

"Aside from Umbra village, have the other villages been destroyed? What's the situation with them?"

"During a previous meeting with the other village heads, we had an agreement to join the villages together, but the decision was strongly opposed by three other villages."

"Now all the villages are struggling to survive on their own and it is uncertain how long the situation will last before we are eliminated by the dungeon monsters. These days, according to the hunters who usually head over there to check, the dungeon beasts have been getting increasingly dangerous and numerous."

Jason rubbed his chin slightly.

Aella also nodded calmly.

"We'd like to have you lead us to these dungeons so we can clear them all."

"Cle… clear them?" The village head was dumbfounded, staring at Aella as though he had heard something unbelievable.

Guessing that Titan could aid them and they would definitely be able to clear the dungeons, the village head was ecstatic.

Hurriedly he asked, "What is your price? The dungeon monsters have truly been causing havoc. The food crops we've planted are almost running dry…"

He was about to ramble on when Aella interrupted him, standing up.

"You don't need to pay us anything. Just lead us in the direction of the dungeons and when we get there, we'll clear them. It's part of our service to humanity."

"Service to humanity…" the middle aged man muttered under his breath, a melancholic expression appearing on his face.

"Alright. Let's go." Aella interrupted whatever thoughts he was having.

Arthur and Jason also stood up.

The village head quickly nodded.

"Come with me please. I'll lead you toward the location of the first dungeon."

At his words, he walked them out of the building before locking the door.

Then the village head led them through the streets of the village.

As they walked, Aella commented casually, noting the difference between here and Jaell state.

"Your villagers seem to be doing quite well despite the dangers around."

The village head gave a wry smile and replied candidly,

"I try my best to ensure everyone is happy."

As he finished speaking, he glanced around and even waved toward a few villagers nearby who waved back.

It was clear that the village head was a kind man with a good relationship with his people.

Truly, it was an extremely stark contrast compared to the governor from the previous state.

As they continued on their way and were just about to pass the familiar inn to leave the city, a thunderous voice cut through the air.

"Who the hell is the person who killed my son?"
