"Wait, you two can't just-...! Actually, you know, what? On second thought, go ahead, this might be the fastest way to resolve this," Sighed Isla, before adding as she glanced at Keira, "But don't think you're getting away with attacking him like you did, I will be reprimanding you for that."
"Fine. So long as I humiliate him and get him kicked out, I don't care."
"Hey, uh...don't you think this is a bad idea, Guildmaster? No offense, Keira, but you don't stand a chance," Aria stated bluntly.
"Huh?" Keira responded icily, her right eyebrow twitching irritably.
"She's right. He defeated Ariella and went toe to toe with Ciel Campbell, a Mage would be completely out of their depth in a one on one fight against him," Isla nodded in agreement.
"I mean, I wouldn't say I went toe to toe with her," I chimed in sheepishly.
"Whatever, let's just hurry up and do this! Come at me, asshole!"
"Not here, you hot-headed idiot. Take it to the arena, no way I'm letting this happen without a safety barrier," Interjected Isla with a frown.
"Tch, fine."
Isla then led the way to the Guild's arena, the rest of us following after her.
Keira was trailing behind, and I could feel her gaze piercing into the back of my head...man, if looks could kill, I'd be dead a hundred times over.
Aria was walking behind her, keeping an eye on Keira...huh, she looks pretty heated herself.
I was shown into a changing room as we arrived at the arena, which was inside the Guild building.
Isla asked me if I needed to borrow any gear or weapons, but of course, I didn't need any, I've got everything I need in Treasury.
And there's a new weapon I've been meaning to try out in a fight.
I ordered it online from the Hunters Armory website, I tested it out a bunch in the training room at my place, but I've been itching to give it a test drive in a real fight.
I put on my gear, before taking out Desecrator and latching it to the back of my belt, before strapping my new weapon around my left gauntlet, over my wrist.
I then stepped out of the changing room and approached the arena, Keira already having taken her place, waiting impatiently.
Huh, she isn't wielding a staff...instead, she's got on gloves with green Mana Orbs embedded over the back of her hands, I'm guessing she wants to keep her hands free to wield her spear.
Huh, looks like we've got an audience, several members of the Guild were up on the bleachers around the arena, and more were streaming in, watching on in fascination.
"I'll make you regret ever being born," She greeted me with a growl as I stepped onto the arena, the barrier forming.
"I don't really have any beef with you, but I don't appreciate being attacked unprovoked. So, come at me with everything you've got, I'll crush you at your best," I replied, cracking my neck as the countdown began.
Looks like she's got a new spear to replace the one I broke, guess I'll have to break this one too.
I put my guard up as the countdown neared its end, an impatient look on her face as she restlessly waited to attack me.
The instant the countdown ended, she swiftly raised her left hand in my direction, a dark look in her eyes.
"Now, [Wind-...]...!" She began to chant, the Mana Orb on her left hand starting to glow.
"<Command: Blast Your Face>."
Her eyes widened as her arm bent inwards, her hand facing her before firing the charged up wind, blood pouring out of her nostrils as the blast of wind slammed square onto the middle of her nose.
She let out a shaky groan as she stumbled back, swiping the back of her forearm across her lips to wipe the blood off, before starting to raise her spear, wind swirling around it as she gritted her teeth and began to lock on to me.
"<Steal>."
She stiffened as the spear disappeared from her grasp, reappearing in my left hand before I tossed it behind me, the weapon hitting the arena with a clatter and skidding away, coming to a stop by the edge of the barrier.
Knowing how expensive weapons are, it'd be a waste to break it.
"You shit...! [Hurricane Breath]!" She chanted, throwing her head back before snapping forward and unleashing a massive, devastating wave of wind towards me from her mouth.
"Huh, <Void>," I swiftly chanted, forming a black hole in front of myself, the powerful gravitational force pulling the raging wind barreling towards me into it, killing the momentum and force of her Spell.
She raised her hands in front of herself and fired out pressurized jets of wind from her palms as she began to get pulled towards the black hole, gritting her teeth as she resisted the gravitational pull.
She suddenly went flying back with a startled yell as I abruptly deactivated Void, her wind jets launching her back before she unleashed a burst of wind from behind herself to cancel out the momentum.
She then flew up, wind swirling around her right hand before she furiously swooped down towards me, a slight smirk spreading out across my lips as I raised my left hand.
Perfect, this is just the opportunity I was looking for, time to try out my new weapon.
It's a replacement for my gun, not only is it more effective, but it's also more convenient to use. It's simply called a Blaster, it's a gun with straps that go around the wrist and palm.
It had a barrel on top, extending out over the back of my hand, I just channel Mana into it and fire by tapping a slate across the middle of the strap that goes around my palm.
The straps are adjustable, so I can latch it over my gauntlet without a problem.
It generates a bit more speed and distance than the gun I was using before could, my Pulse Bullets are now about twenty percent faster and have a range of thirty meters.
As she began to close in on me, I locked on and fired the Blaster, shooting out a Pulse Bullet, narrower in shape than the Pulse Bullets my old gun fired.
She began to veer across as I fired, before crying out in pain as the projectile struck her right shoulder, the wind swirling around her right hand dissipating as she shuddered, before quickly flying back and getting some distance.
She clutched her shoulder with a pained grimace as she landed on the other end of the arena, her arm trembling as beads of sweat began running down her face...
