Chapter 291: X-Ace Clash (Part 9)

"That was sick as hell, that blood dome you trapped me in, it's like what I'd imagine hell to look like," Laughed Beatriz, before her face scrunched up slightly as she took a big bite of a sour gummy.

Both she and Aarav had gotten healed, after which the event staff came to wake Iseul up and took her to the Healer and Enchanter to get her sobered up and refreshed.

"Heh, I guess you could call it...bloody hell," Grinned Aarav in response, before adding with a chuckle as he put on an exaggerated British accent, "Innit, mate?"

"Man, wish I could've seen what happened after that, it was over so fast after you created that blood dome," Remarked Jaden with an intrigued look on his face.

"Well, to put in a nutshell, I tied her up, got super horny and boned her," Laughed Aarav, looking pretty proud of that one.

"That's...not inaccurate, I suppose, but that's not how I'd put it, the phrasing could use some work," Responded Beatriz with a wry smile.

"That was a pretty close fight, though, at no point did it feel like there was an obvious winner," Remarked Aria, as she replayed some of the highlights from the match on her I-Watch.

"Yeah, those are the best fights, it's no fun when it's one-sided, a good fight needs to be a real challenge. The more unpredictable and close the outcome is, the better," Grinned Jaden, looking pretty amped up.

Well, his next match isn't for a while yet, so he'll have to contain himself for a bit. Speaking of the matches, how long is this going to-...?

"Sorry to keep you waiting! I'm all good to go now, guess I had a bit too much to drink," Laughed Iseul, the door swinging open as she walked in.

"That's an understatement, but-...hm? Wait, you still look drunk," I frowned, as she swayed slightly.

"Nahhh, it's just a little buzz, I asked the Healer not to sober me up all the way, I fight at my best when I've got a bit of drink in me. I never go on a raid without a bottle in tow," She remarked with a grin.

Huh? Uh...is she serious?

"That's...really not something to brag about," Responded Jin incredulously.

"Eh, agree to disagree. Alright, come on, let's do this! Hurry it up, we've delayed it long enough!" She exclaimed as she glanced back at me with a grin, before pumping her fists up as she headed out the door, one of the event staff standing there with an exasperated look on her face.

It's your fault that we're delayed at all, you-...!

Calm down...everything's fine, I'm an adult, just take it easy and relax. It's no big deal, no big deal...no big deal.

Huh...my Rage Meter is at one percent. It's been a while since it's popped up, come to think of it.

I let out a strained sigh before following after her, Aria giving me an encouraging fist-bump on the way out.

Alright, time to focus up.

My opponent's a Lightning Mage, but she's also an X-Ace, so I can't underestimate her. My battles against Jaden made it clear that I can't judge an opponent based solely on their stats, that's something I'll need to keep in mind.

Gotta admit, her gear is pretty cool.

She was wearing an electric yellow tank top, under a short, unbuttoned electric blue jacket that went a bit past the middle of her torso.

She had on black trousers, with an electric blue waist-cape attached to the back of her belt, draping halfway down her calves, with electric blue boots that stopped just short of her knees.

She was carrying two weapons, strapped to either side of her waist. On the left was a staff, the handle was shaped like a lightning bolt and was blue, the Mana Orb gleaming with an electric dark blue hue, the same color as her Aura.

And on the right was a sword, the blade was also shaped like a lightning bolt, and was yellow in color. She's really leaning into her whole lightning theme, isn't she?

There's also her yellow eyes and her electric dark blue hair with the bright yellow streaks across it.

"Hey, that blade of yours, it can slice through regular weapons, right?" She asked me, as we stepped onto the arena.

"Hm? Yeah, what about it?" I responded, stretching my arms up as I took my place, the barrier forming around the arena.

"Just wanted to know, to mentally prepare myself for the possibility of my weapons getting destroyed," She grinned sheepishly, as she took hold of her weapons and drew them out.

"I won't deny that there's a very real chance of that happening, so...sorry in advance," I replied with a wry smile, as the countdown began.

Alright, Enrage is still on cooldown, and I'd like to save the three or so minutes I've got left with Descent for my third match. In which case, Arouse it is.

Huh, come to think of it, I haven't used it in a while.

On the bright side, since she's a Mage, she doesn't have any resistance or immunity passives, which means...my debuffs will work on her.

I grabbed Desecrator and drew the blade out as the countdown reached five, getting ready to attack, in five...four...three...two...ONE!!!

"<Arouse>," I chanted, a strong swell of heat rising up inside my body, before I took a deep breath and exhaled slowly to control the surge of arousal, before whipping my blade across as a bolt of lightning came shooting towards me.

The lightning dissipated as my blade slashed across it, before I swiftly shot forward, weaving through the space as several more lightning bolts came zipping out towards me, evading them.

"Nice, but how about this? [Lightning Vortex]!" She chanted, the Mana Orb of her staff glowing brightly as the air in front of her sparked and crackled violently, right as a massive, swirling blast of lightning came roaring towards me with immense speed, too wide to dodge...
