"Woah, you made all this too?! Did you cook more food for dinner as well?" Inquired Aria, staring in bemusement at the wide spread I'd laid out on the table.
It was around 3:30 PM now, and we were about to have lunch. I took out everything I'd prepared for the meal from Treasury, and set it up while I had Aria wait in the room.
"Yeah, I did," I nodded, as I pulled out her chair.
"Where did you find the time?" She responded in bemusement, as she took a seat.
"I cooked one dish at a time, whenever I had alone time over the last couple of weeks or so," I replied, as I sat across her.
For the main dish, I'd made a seafood fried rice, with diced prawns and calamari, in addition to grated carrots and cabbage, and of course, egg.
As for the side dishes, I whipped up spicy omelettes, roasted chicken, sliced steak strips, and batter-fried cuttlefish.
One thing we both have in common is that we both like all seafood that isn't fish. Prawns, shrimp, crab, lobster, octopus, cuttlefish, we both like all that stuff, but we're pretty averse and picky when it comes to fish.
I'd also made a fruit juice, a mix of apple, lemon, strawberry and a pinch of salt, mixed with sparkling soda, and some crushed mint leaves. I also had some dessert for after the meal, currently in Treasury.
"Go ahead and pile your plate up. As with breakfast, there's plenty more where this came from," I remarked, before she nodded and eagerly began serving herself.
"Alright, then, don't mind if I do," She grinned, stacking a mountain of rice on her plate, before adding a chicken leg, an omelette and a couple of steak strips.
I poured the juice into the glass I'd placed by her plate as she began digging in, before I stacked up my own plate and joined her, taking a bite and savoring the flavors.
Nice, I think this came out pretty well.
I've never put this much effort into cooking before, especially after I reincarnated. Thanks to Treasury, I have an unlimited supply of my favorite foods, so cooking seemed pointless to me.
But that's not the case anymore.
Seeing her scarf down the food that I put all that effort into making, I feel so happy. It's definitely making me want to cook for her again.
It wasn't long before the two of us cleaned our plates, the dishes I'd set up completely empty. Aria slumped back in her seat with a content sigh, patting her stomach with a smile.
"Want more?" I asked her, as she took a sip of the drink.
"No, I'm stuffed. Heh, I'm getting the meat sweats," She giggled, as she wiped her sleeve across her brow.
"Mhm, same here. Well, at the very least, I hope you've got some room for dessert," I replied, as I opened up Treasury and took out a bowl, setting it in the middle of the table.
"Wait, is that...ice cream? You know how to make ice cream?" She responded in surprise, a gleam in her eyes.
"Well, I didn't, but I looked it up...and it turned out to be surprisingly easy," I smiled, as I took out a couple of smaller bowls, along with a pair of spoons.
"It's so swirly, what flavor is it?" She asked me, as I took out a scooper and served a sizeable chunk into her bowl.
"Milk chocolate, white chocolate, hazelnut spread and peanut butter. And I also mixed in some crushed up chunks of caramelized sugar to give it a little crunch," I replied, as she tried it, a smile spreading out across her lips before she swiftly took another bite.
"Mm, so creamy and rich, thish ish good! The consistency and texture is pretty different, it's a bit more firm that soft serve, but it's softer than regular ice cream, I really like it," She remarked, before shuddering slightly and stiffening as she took a big bite.
"Heh, brain freeze? Careful, take it slow," I grinned, as I reached over and patted her head.
"Yeah, I couldn't help myself. I'm really pigging out today, huh?" She responded sheepishly.
"No reason you shouldn't. None that I can think of, anyway," I smiled, as she took another bite.
"Maybe you should open a restaurant someday. I mean, you only have to cook stuff once and then you're set, it's all profit with no cost," She pointed out.
"I suppose I could after I retire...but that's a long way off, and I'd have to make some seriously terrible financial decisions if I need a source of income by then," I replied with a chuckle.
"Heh, yeah, you've got a point there. Even if I didn't earn a single Credit for the rest of my life, I've got so much saved up that I doubt I'd ever be able to spend it all, no matter how wasteful I am," She nodded in agreement.
"Mhm, same. I've got enough money to live several lifetimes of lavish luxury," I responded, before adding as she finished her serving of ice cream, "Want a refill?"
"I do, but...I physically can't. I think I'm about one bite away from hurling," She shook her head reluctantly, before letting out a slight burp.
"Alright, let's save it for later, then. What should we do next? Got anything in mind?" I asked her.
"Hm...could we just go to bed and cuddle for a while? I'm so full that I feel like I need to lie down, moving around too much is probably a really bad idea right now," She smiled sheepishly.
"Sounds good. Go wait in the room, I'll clear the table and join you soon," I replied, as I stood up and stretched my arms out.
"Huh? No way, let me help too."
"Absolutely not, not today. I'm gonna spoil and pamper you today, that's non-negotiable, and I won't take no for an answer," I stated firmly.
