"What's the situation, Kai? Based on your expression, it isn't anything good," Responded Aria with a frown, the Sanctuary within sight now.

"Yeah, that's putting it lightly...there's an Archdemon in the Sanctuary, the Chairwoman's fighting it, along with the Hunters who weren't sent out on raids," I replied grimly.

"What? How'd an Archdemon get in the Sanctuary? Nowhere near enough time has passed for a Stampede, so-..."

"No, a Dungeon appeared inside the Sanctuary, with just one floor...basically, a Boss Room with no other floors. And the Boss emerged within half an hour of the Dungeon's appearance," I informed her.

"That's a thing now? Well, shit...," She muttered with a concerned grimace, before adding, "If nothing else, we definitely made the right call keeping our power boosts in reserve. We'll need our full power if we're up against an Archdemon."

"Yeah, and I think it's time we unleash our boosts...we're almost there, not much further, so let's cover this last stretch as quickly as possible," I replied, before chanting as we drew closer towards the Sanctuary, "<Enrage>, Descent>!"

"Got it...[Blaze Ignition: Flare], [Descent]!"

How tiresome...I am certainly slower and less powerful now than when I was alive, but even back then, I would likely still be at a disadvantage against her.

She is powerful, without question.

And to make matters worse, she is holding back, she has yet to display any Demonic Arts, she has only used physical attacks and Negative Energy.

However...my Lord is almost here, he is not far, I can sense it.

Hm, remarkable...that elderly human woman is still alive.

She has lost consciousness, and will likely perish in a matter of minutes, even so, it is rather impressive that she has not yet succumbed to those injuries.

I then flew up as a Negative Energy slash came shooting towards me, severing the end of my tail, before I unleashed several crackling, dancing streaks of powerful, intense lightning towards her.

She weaved through the air to evade them and unleashed a burst of Negative Energy to propel herself, charging towards me with immense speed and firing out a Negative Energy spear as she took aim.

I narrowly evaded a direct hit, the spear grazing my side, before I began to fly back as she closed in on me, snapping her jaws open and unleashing a fearsome blast of Negative Energy, striking my chest and sending me hurtling back through the air, before I spread out my wings to bring myself to a halt.

My sense of pain has been significantly dulled after I became the Apostle of Sloth, so these injuries do not particularly hurt...however, it is difficult to fight effectively in this state, my missing arm in particular is proving detrimental.

"How strange, not so much as a single drop of blood. What happened to you?" She inquired with a frown.

Hm, perhaps if I answer her questions, she will stop attacking for a moment.

"<I am no longer alive. I was slain and brought back in this form, by my new master>."

"New master? I see, this must be some form of necromancy. Ah, of course, it is likely the work of our target," She remarked with an intrigued gleam in her eyes.

Target? Is the Monster King after my Lord for some reason?

"<What target do you speak of-...>?" I began.

"How fascinating. Now, then, back to the battle," She smirked, as she charged up Negative Energy.

Hm. I was hoping to buy a bit more time than that. Ah, but it seems I bought enough time...

"<This ends now>," I remarked as she began to charge towards me, before she suddenly stiffened.

Her gaze darted across to either side, a blur of purple and black to her right, and one of fiery orange to her left, converging in towards her simultaneously...

"<Mana Pulse>," I chanted as I grabbed the side of the Archdemon's head.

"[Super Accel Flame Lance]!!!" Roared Aria, driving her right arm towards the Monster's left side.

The Archdemon screamed in pain with an agonized shudder as blood burst out of her eyes, nostrils and mouth, before seizing up sharply as Aria's Flame Lance bored through her flesh, a loud sizzle ringing out.

Suddenly, an unstable, powerful burst of Negative Energy erupted around the Archdemon, pushing the two of us back.

Aria and I backed away further and weaved through the air as the Archdemon unleashed a scattered volley of unstable Negative Energy blasts, as she flew back and got some distance.

Charlotte was sprawled across the ground, fatally injured...she's barely breathing, it's a miracle she's still alive at all.

This...this will not go unpunished...

"Th-That appearance, and that purple Aura...you must be the target-...," Began the Archdemon.

"<Command: Gouge Out Your Eyes>."

"Wha-...?!" She blurted out, screaming in pain as she plunged her claws into her eyes, breaking free of the effect of Command right as she gouged them out with an agonized shudder.

She trembled in pain as blood streamed down the sides of her face, her eyes widening as they regenerated and I entered her line of sight, meeting her gaze from inches away.

She twisted her body across in alarm as I drove my blade towards her Core, inflicting a deep gash across her left side, before she quickly unleashed a burst of Negative Energy and backed away as the attack pushed me back a few meters through the air.

"It doesn't matter what you try, it won't change the final outcome...rest assured, ou will die," I muttered, as I shot towards her.

"[Demonic Art: Corrosive Mist]!" She exclaimed, a light green mist erupting around her.

The mist stung my skin as I flew into it, but it was inconsequential...the pain makes no difference, and my Super Regeneration offsets the damage.

She stiffened as I flew through the mist and grabbed her throat, tightening my grip as I unleashed Mana Pulse, a choked gasp ringing out as she shuddered and convulsed in agony, a look of fear in her eyes as she shakily met my gaze...
