"I will enjoy this. You will be destroyed."

With those words uttered out of Hitaju Aurora's mouth, the man laughed devilishly while he strutted closer and closer to his daughter with glowing, red eyes, and the tip of his sword scraping against the ground as the sparks from the friction being caused flew.

Jolene swallowed hard and narrowed her eyes.

It was incredible, really. A true sight to behold indeed, noticing the unbelievable effects that this Magical Beast had on her without its true beast form even being close to her body. Hell, this beast was not even hatched yet, and it could do something like manipulation of thoughts, memories and reality just by existing within its shell.

Even so, she had a job to do, which was to retrieve the same Magical Beast. She had no idea how she would even be able to get her hands on this creature, but she knew that the first step to finishing her final hurdle in the Paradisus Legion was to go through this impossible phase.

Just how would she be able to exit this unviewable black fog of the Dungeon District that had immediately affected her as soon as she was transported there by the mist?

With the gap slowly closing, she came to a solution.

All Magical Beasts run out of magical ability when they use up everything that has been processed inside, after which they would have to wait for a long, extended period of time until their man capacity was full again. Therefore, if what was currently happening around her was this beast's magic, then…

I'll just have to stall, or consistently try my absolute best to force this creature to try really hard, giving it no time to rest, she concluded. And the only way I can do that is by attacking nonstop!

Thus, she gripped her katana tightly, reminding herself that at the end of the day, she was still a Murder-For-Hire Shinigami Soldier. She had to push her anxiety to the side, no matter how troubling her opponent was, whether it be a saintly person, or one of the strongest Magical Beasts ever.

I'm a fucking assassin, so let's behave like one, shall we? she thought to herself, and grinned.

Without warning, the man sped towards her, closing the distance completely in less than a second, and Jolene swung straight at his neck, hoping to slash it off cleanly.

Hitaju stooped low just as she extended her arm backwards to swing, and his lowered head dodged the incoming strike, after which he stabbed through the air with his sword, narrowly missing Jolene's head but grazing her cheek violently, drawing fresh blood.

Annoyed and a bit terrified as she had just barely avoided death, Jolene backed off, creating space to avoid any swift counters, and then dashed towards her enemy, just as Hitaju did the same, and their blades collided with a loud CLING!

A standoff of both figures who used their might to hold each other back emerged, and Jolene was the first to speak up as the blood trickled down from her wounded cheek.

"I failed to introduce my true abilities to you. Allow me to put them on display for you now.

She then stepped back, removing her blade swiftly as she raised her arm back, and then let an array of strikes fly.

Numerous slashes rained down like speeding bullets on the man with no mercy, and although he was able to parry back some, Jolene's blade cut the edges of the skin on his forehead just as he leaned back, as well as his right thigh, chest and his left side.

Gritting his teeth with anger, the man tried to counter with a swift swing, but Jolene was ready.

She sidestepped the attack and skidded into a position where she faced his back, leaving an exposed point, and just as Hitaju spun around to stop her-

-She leaped over him magnificently, and then swung once again.

…..Fuck.

She missed, only by an inch as Hitaju stepped back in time.

It's not over!!

As soon as she stepped onto the ground while landing perfectly, she broke into an inhumane speeding blur, closing the distance just as the man tried to escape her attack, and swung upwards with all of her might.

SHK.

She barely managed to cut his upper body, starting at the middle of his chest, missing his neck and ending just below his nose, managing to draw and leak blood from the opened cracks in the skin.

It was not a deep wound, but it was enough to make her opponent stumble and begin to…glitch?

Jolene paused, staring ahead of her as she noticed the peculiar sight.

In front of her was her father, glitching and grunting with pain, holding his face as he leaned back with hurt and fury.

Her eyes wavered, but then she remembered that she had to keep pushing to win. She was doing well, and she had to finish it off.

Wasting no time, Jolene lunged at him, slamming him into the ground, just at the edge of the floating platform while the void lay just further ahead.

Just….pin….him down…!

Struggling to keep him in place so that she could make the finishing blow, her heart pounded ferociously inside of her chest. She could not fail now.

She raised her right hand, aiming to use the tip of the blade to stab through his neck, but in that moment, the blade had been kicked out of her hands as the man's left foot was now free from any restrictions.

SHIT!

Choosing not to go back for her primary weapon and forget about restraining him, she opted to choke him out instead, using both of her hands to squeeze tightly on his throat as the man began to lose the free passage of air.

"This is….what you get…for trying to ruin my fucking life!!" Jolene screamed out, despite knowing that the man who she was currently seeing was not truly her father.

Her eyes began to water while her emotions spiraled under control, continuing to cry out as the roles were now reversed, many years later.

"YOU TRIED TO CHOKE ME OUT!!! YOU BEAT ME!!! ABUSED ME!!! REMEMBER THAT SCAR THAT YOU CAUSED ON MY STOMACH!?!? YOU DID THAT TOO, SO GUESS WHAT!!!?? THIS IS A FITTING END FOR YOU!!! LOOK INTO MY EYES WHILE YOU FUCKING DIE SLOWLY, YOU FUCKING BIIIIIITTTCHHHH!!!!!"

".....Hi, Cumslut."

Her blurry vision caused by tears refocused, and she stared at the teenage boy.

She was choking out Liohime Kitagami.
