Not accepting defeat so easily, Jolene Aurora struggled with ferocity as she yearned to free herself from the constriction of the giant worm-like Magical Beast that was contracted to Harvey Hallvack.

With ease, she had been captured with a combination of Magical Beast powers from both him and Leah, and all they needed was for her to be completely immobilized for three seconds.

However, the strength of their opponent was not one to scoff at.

Harvey scoffed anyway, though. Of course he did.

"She's squirming like her life depends on it. My Magical Beast is finding it hard to contain her, haha. How interesting."

"I think that she'll lose her strength eventually by tiring herself out like this, though," Leah answered, placing her right hand on her large cleavage while sighing. "My dear Eclipse has blinded her point of view, so even if she manages to free herself, we can just launch a sneak attack again."

"Heh. You're right."

Meanwhile, every second that Jolene took in order to fight off the restraining force held on her felt like minutes. Despite that, she couldn't give up.

That…Shrimpdick…is probably doing the best that he can out there while I'm already going to be crushed by a fucking worm!! I'll die in the Paradisus Legion if this is all I can manage!!!

Therefore, with Liohime in her mind, he thought of the dire situation that he was in, and she gritted her teeth.

It was now or never.

Using up all of her strength with one final resistance, she freed her left hand just slightly, but it was enough for her to use it in order to pull out a throwing knife attached to her waist.

Say goodbye to this fuckass beast, Harvey.

And she slashed the minster into half, before taking a bet on memorizing her opponent's last location within the black void and throwing the knife at top speed, slashing right through the head of the rattlesnake that was coiled to Leah's leg with a one hundred percent accuracy, restoring reality.

The color drained from both of her opponents faces as both of their Magical Beasts were terminated with immediate effect due to them dying instantly, and before they could even react, Jolene had closed the distance between them…

…And then that's where it happened.

An ability that allows both a Magical Beast and their Master to view each other's location, while also granting the latter the power to summon the former from a distance, either by force or from a request by theMagical Beast.

However, the process of summoning requires deep concentration. Some are not able to summon their Magical Beats within their first few attempts. Still, once able to do so, it is a powerful ability that can help both parties in dire situations, and Liohime Kitagami had found himself in one.

Unable to think straight, Liohime barely avoided a straight punch to his right shoulder. He tried to make a counter against Bica as he found himself stuck in the left corner of the room, but he immediately felt a sharp pain in his lower left leg as a direct kick from Ophiel connected, causing him to lean forward and stumble, but managing to block a punch to the face.

After receiving the [Mental Link] summoning request from Shihon actually messed up his concentration even more, and to give himself a few extra seconds of pondering, he dashed between both Ophiel and Bica and removed himself from the closed space that he had been locked in.

Summon Shihon!? I've never done it before, he thought. But, should I test it out?

It had only been thirty minutes since he had dropped her off at the Kimetsu Hotel. She should still be in a bad condition, and he still trusted his own ability to handle both of them, but-

The duo quickly chased after him and attacked at the same time, but Liohime kicked Ophiel away and grabbed Bica's left outstretched hand, before using all his might to use his own force while spinning his body around to throw her to the side.

It should be two minutes by now. Only one minute was left until he was free.

Thus, he should be able to…

His thoughts flashed across his mind as Ophiel regained his footing and blitzed towards him in half of a second, picking up speed as Liohime was unable to predict the timing of his attack.

A direct hit, straight to the abdomen.

A shock-lick pain pummeled through him like never before, and before he could react-

Bica sped behind him as he fell back, landing her own punch straight into his back.

They had turned up the heat in an instant, and Liohime's judgement of being able to handle two skilled fighters at once was proven false.

Once again, he had trusted himself instead of relying on Shihon, and it was about to cost him.

Sidestepping them both, Liohime skidded backwards and hoisted himself against the wall, eyeing the two individuals who were surely about to batter his already weakened body in order to restrain him.

Their breaths stopped short.

Both of their eyes widened, unable to comprehend the change of emotion that quickly changed on the young man's face.

This was not the Liohime Kitagami that they knew.

Because…the Liohime that they knew…

…Would never rely on someone, or something else when it came to his own struggles, until now.
