Godfire: The Split Soul

Chapter 71: The House of Five Vanished Children

A soft wind blew as the midnight sky began to change, welcoming the early morning clouds.

Butterflies flapped their wings as they jolted from the branches of the trees outside the fence, hovering over the fence and moving toward the three people standing by the gate, yawning.

Oin moved forward, clenched his right fist, and slammed it on the door they stood behind.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

The sound vibrated from the door and echoed in the space behind the door, which sounded hollow in Oin's ears.

Two minutes after the knocks came, footsteps echoed from the other side. And when the locks of the door clicked, a six-foot lady opened the door and stood there, folding her arms on her huge breasts.

Oin stared at her, his mind reeling for the first time seeing a lady having the same posture of a city person. He swallowed when the lady blinked, staring at him.

"How may I help you?"

That's what the lady said, but the voice alone made Oin lose his sense and stare at the lady until Jinx cleared her throat, bringing Oin back to his senses.

"Please, we were sent here by…" Jinx paused, turned to Oin and Nich, "What's her name?"

"We were sent here by the Priestess," Nich said, clearing the doubts of the lady standing tall at the slightly open door.

"The Priestess?" the lady said, squeezing her eyes.

"Yes, the Priestess," Oin said, a strange smile appearing on his cheeks, hearing the lady speak.

The lady opened the door wide, stood at the side, and gestured inside, letting all three of them enter, then slammed the door shut, locking it.

Nich and Jinx walked without turning, but Oin did. He turned, stared at the lady as she locked the door, and as she began walking toward them.

"Stay here, I'm going to call my mother," she said, leaving the strangers at the center of a huge hall and heading into one of the rooms at the far right.

Jinx stared at Oin and smiled. "It amazes me to see you like this. I never knew you could be charmed by a lady," she said, laughing softly and teasing Oin, who had his eyes locked at the direction the lady took.

After five minutes of waiting, they saw another lady, almost of the same height as the first one, erupting from the door and heading toward them.

Nich licked his lips as he kept his eyes locked on the slightly unwrapped breast of the lady now standing a few distances away from them.

"You say you were sent here by the Priestess?" she asked, gesturing at them to sit in the well-crafted stuffed chair.

Jinx cleared her throat and straightened herself, staring at the lady. "Yes," she said, her voice not cracking or breaking.

The lady moved her gaze from them, one after another, then turned her gaze to the direction she came from. "Elina."

At the mention of the name, the lady who welcomed them first walked out of the door, rushing toward the lady whose legs were crossed as she sat calmly in one of the stuffed chairs.

"Bring them water."

Oin's gaze followed the bouncing ass that moved like sea waves as the lady with the name Elina walked back into the door, and at her face as she exited and handed each of them a cup of warm water.

After savoring the water, Jinx raised her head, stared into the eyes of the lady seated at their front, and smiled.

Oin, who was midway savoring the water, kept his gaze on Elina while Nich kept his at the sexy eyes of the lady sitting at their front.

"Why were you sent here?" the lady said, frowning and moving her gaze from Nich to the lady with white hair.

"We came to this village seeking a person called Fenlore…" Jinx paused mid-sentence as she spotted the lady's change of reaction when she mentioned the name Fenlore.

"Fenlore, that family that gave birth to a monster which made all five of my children vanish!" the lady said, her voice echoing with pain as sweat clinically beaded her face.

Jinx, Oin, and Nich stood up, shocked, exchanged glances, and then turned to the lady now hastily opening the door and exiting the hall.

"A family that gave birth to a monster?" Jinx said, still carrying the shocked expression as she turned to Oin.

"Wait, if all her five children vanished, then who is the lady who welcomed us?" Oin said, his voice rising and falling as he turned his gaze to the door.

Moments after the lady left, Elina walked into the hall and walked them out of the building. But as they stopped and turned outside, Elina stood there licking her lower lip.

"Elina, right?" Oin asked, locking eyes with the lady. "Do you know anything about the Fenlore?" Oin said, moving a step closer.

The lady squeezed her face, walked forward, closed the door, and folded her arms on her chest.

The wind outside the large building brushed against her face as she began to spill the beans.

"Talk of the Fenlore! When you seek that family, you seek death!" she said, closing her eyes and inhaling.

"My auntie Ayra used to be happily married to Yung Chin, the man who was popularly known as Fenlore."

"During the years he was alive, Elsa, my auntie, who became furious as you mentioned the name, used to stay with them. Since Ayra was her older sister, she lived with them, helped them in whatever they needed."

"But one day something happened. Two winged humans attacked this place, wanting to drive us out and take the diamond mine for their own."

"During that fight, Yung Chin and several men of this village came together and fought them, driving the winged humans out for good."

"Years after driving them off, Yung Chin helped the village in finding more diamonds, food, shelter, and gave them a sense of living."

"Not to mention, the sole purpose of this village was for the banished citizens of other cities sent to die. No help came to us when we needed it, not even military gadgets. But Yung Chin helped us craft some weapons used for farming, mining, and also to protect ourselves in case of any attack."

"Since then, many cities connived with us in trade for food and support with our diamonds. But two years after fighting with the winged men, something happened…"

Elina paused as tears began to snake down her chin like falling angels. She cracked her eyes open, turned her gaze at the mountain standing still in the far distance, and inhaled.

"On that mountain, monsters erupted from it and attacked this village. At that same time, Ayra was helping Elsa prepare for her new marriage, giving her tips to make her husband feel every minute he spent in a sexual affair with her."

"Not to mention, Ayra was the only one who normally used to teach most of the married people how to please their husbands, and it worked for all those who took her lessons seriously."

"On the night of Elsa's wedding, the monsters attacked. But with the help of Yung Chin and a few members, they drove them out without any casualties."

"For ten years, we lived in harmony with the forests, but on the day Ayra felt she was pregnant for the first time, the sky tore into two colors, blue and red."

Elsa paused, moving Jinx, Oin, and Nich, who were intensely listening to her, to the fence as she spotted Elsa standing at the window in the far-left staring at them.

As they reached the fence, Elina opened the gate and gestured for them to exit.

Nich and Oin stared at each other in shock.

"What happened to the baby your auntie was carrying? And how did Yung Chin, Fenlore, vanish?"

Oin asked, his expression changing as he looked deep into Elina's eyes.

"I will meet you at the village square in the afternoon. Now go before she throws me out," Elina said, in a sorrow-filled voice as if she had been thrown out before.

Jinx, Oin, and Nich followed the same path they had taken, reached the three-way junction, then took the one leading to the village, where they had parked the Civic.
