"The demon you killed the other day was a powerful demon who is a commander of the 'soldiers' in the city," Amelia told me anxiously.
I arrived at the diner not to long after leaving our base of operations -the safe house-, that I met Amelia outside in a precarious position, wearing revealing clothes in an area where a lot of women end up killed or ending up in her situation a day ago.
She noticed me and stood before I got to the door of the diner. "Good to see you again," I told her, eventually breaking the tension, she felt and the indecisiveness she felt coming here and waiting for me.
She was silent and I nudged to get her out of her thoughts. She looked up at me and locked eyes with me for a short moment then rapidly looked away. "Let's go inside," she spoke hesitantly. I looked around the street on either side to make sure she wasn't followed or that there were no stalkers around before I entered.
The Marksman's Diner was not as lively as the Demon's Kitchen diner which was more spacious and had more staff. This one was not as big, but it was big enough for passers by and residents of this area. It was more of a family diner and further from being a restaurant for everyone to enjoy a meal.
It felt odd inside, it was colder than room temperature and everyone who we had found inside eating a meal hurriedly rushed out the moment I entered. The staff closed all stations, and the door was closed behind me, and the closed sign was flipped to show everyone that the diner was not in business for the day.
In the kitchen I heard food being prepared by some of the chefs in the back.
Then in the dark corners appeared demon hounds and they walked up to Amelia who was sitting at a table meant for two people, crossing one leg over the other, resting her left hand on the table and resting her head on the palm of her left hand unfazed by the hounds that sat beside her.
'What's going on?' I asked myself, standing across the table. Who was I dealing with? It was time for me to find out.
I walked toward and the chair and stood behind it. Amelia gestured me to have a sit, and I sat down on the chair. "Well Captain, don't you have any question for me?" she asked me. I slightly tilted my head to the left and remained silent. "Hmm, not much of a talker I see. Well, if you aren't going to say anything, I shall have my chance to speak to you about what really concerns me,"
"What is it you want from me, Amelia?" I questioned her.
"I want you to do something for me, but I can't say anything about it aloud, so I have to be discrete about it here and around you. Many ears unnecessary ears will hear things they shouldn't,"
I looked at both demon hounds intensely and she noticed it.
"Oh them, they won't bite unless I tell them to," she said jokingly.
I folded my arms and intensified my expression more dead locked on her. "You can't take a joke can you?" she asked irritated and let out a loud sigh, rolled her eyes and looked back at me with a tired look.
"You are so tiresome. Can't get any good help these days, now can I,"
"Get to the point of this whole meet up. You are very a different person,"
"Oh, you like my style. I like it too. Besides that, you seem to be a powerful man. Are you?"
"No," I told blatantly.
"The demon you killed the other day was a powerful demon who is a commander of the 'soldiers' in the city," Amelia told me anxiously.
"What does that have to do with me?"
"Since you killed him, I wanted to ask you if you can kill a few more of those bastards for me and I will get the information you want on the entire city and who and how it's run. I have connections everywhere,"
"Look Amelia, I came here because you wanted someone to talk not this bullshit, I found myself in,"
"Well, fuck you Captain if that's how you're going to be. Ugh. Look, what do you want me to do so that I can get you to agree with me. You want to fuck me, deal, you want beautiful girls, I can ask to make arrangements for your fun time, you want to have orgies, we can ask the kitchen staff to join us? Anything you want I can make it happen. Just please, you are the only one I can ask help from."
"Why don't you ask the uncorrupted law enforcement in the city?" I stupidly asked intentionally.
"They are outnumbered, it's a plethora of demons and bought cops. They would die before they could anything about it. Captain, look if you want my body, it's all yours, I just need your help."
Then a collar appeared on her neck attached to chains that were on my wrist. She looked down at the chains and grabbed the collar in a panic. She was now fear struck, her eyes went wide, and she realised too late what I was, though her idea would've way off.
"You tricked me, you're a fucking demon!" she exclaimed.
"Take it easy I am not here to hurt or commit any ill action against. Yes, I wasn't transparent about it, however we had only just met. And no, I am not a demon, even if I were one you wouldn't have been here living to speak to me. Besides you are the one who walked yourself into creating such a deal with your mouth, no?"
"What are you going to do to me?"
"Nothing of course. I have changed my mind though; I will help you. It's the least I can do after you offered yourself wholeheartedly toward me. You placed yourself in such a position. You lost all leverage the moment you began begging, offering your body toward me. Now, you cannot see any other men, which is evident of the collar on your neck. I will not make you a working slave of mine but know that I am your master. The only these chains will break is when you die or I choose to sever the bond. I am the demon angel standing before you. I really hate saying that, but I have to anyway. I will take my leave, and you enjoy your meal."
"Wait, what does that mean for me! Am I supposed to just follow your orders like a fucking bitch! I have a fucking life you asshole! Fuck you!"
"You can do your own things; I could care less. Your activities aren't monitored by me, and I will not make you a bitch of mine even though you're my slave. Besides you becoming mine has to be said wholeheartedly without any doubt. These chains appeared because deep down you had me in your heart. I will see you later, Amelia."
I left the diner, leaving behind a girl perplexed and trying to fathom to gravity of the situation. Though she didn't say as much as I'd hoped she did promise giving me the information I need on the city. It was going to be a while in this city. But first she has a list for me to handle, I guess I will get it from her once she has relaxed.
