The next morning when the team and I rested from the events of the day before we discussed our findings. Veronica and Dante had met a few people of interest and accomplices in the entertainment sector. They had connections in parts of the city and in the underground world. Making our mission easier than before. Though those accomplices did not do it without gain, they managed to do something to acquire their trust.

It means that in this city trust is worth me than anything, good thing Amelia trusts me. As for now I won't ask for much, it's dangerous for her to be placed in such a position.

This marked progress for us. Marie and Donny on the other hand had been exposed to a much sinister sector of the city. The corporate sector is so corrupt that they struggled maintaining their demeanour. People did all they wanted for money and for what promotions? They chose to be promiscuous with their employer's, I mean fucking their bosses, threatening the very people they were hired by and even go to the extent of killing anyone that got in their own co-workers.

That wasn't the worst of it, Donny and Marie went under the guise of being a married couple and that sparked a lot of interest to the predators who would prowl on such relationships. Donny managed to get into their system and add Marie and himself into the system and having themselves known as employees with high level access. One of the corporate businesses, Destiny Drive, was a wholesome company that had people pay for transport on demand at a reasonable cost but the influence of demonic presence changed that. It wasn't corporate greed that got them, it was a deal they could not resist from demons.

Look you might think I know everything that goes on in the city, that's not the case. I learnt this information from Marie and Donny.

"Things aren't looking good out there," Donny said.

"You tell me, Veronica almost got kidnapped. Some of those weird fucks wanted her because she is drop dead gorgeous and wanted to ravage her, thinking she was a worker there. While she was dealing with men, I had to fend off the women. They couldn't resist me," Dante spoke flauntingly.

"We don't care Dante." I told him coldly. "Veronica are you okay? I know you couldn't use your powers because they were human, but are you fine?" I asked her.

"Dante is correct I was taken by the humans forcefully; the men were stronger than I expected, and they overpowered me. Dante was treated the same as I. The women were stronger than he expected, they swarmed him, overwhelming him and he had no choice but to fight back. He injured some of the peculiarly beautiful, gorgeous and having similar hourglass like body shapes. They used their charms and allured him to them, he realised what was happening before he got ensnared but they grabbed him faster than he could react." Veronica told us.

"I see. It seems that I made a mistake sending you lot to the sectors even though I looked at your strengths and matching the sector accordingly. But it seems to be our traps. You are not the only one's who have been in, how do I say it, deep shit. Out in the downtown sector I had eyes on me and an accomplice of mine helped me out. They had told me that I had crossed some people when I had helped them out. Their name is Amelia, and she saved me from dying."

Silence was replaced by slight gasps and wide eyes. The realisation came in that I fell for the city's trap. Our strengths were also our weaknesses and how were we going to survive this mission. Gen. Mynde did you know this was going to happen, after spending my time in hell and going on another mission alone.

I went through so much and yet it wasn't enough, however it was for the best my team had a break from all of this. Marvin I will make sure that Donny is safe even if you have passed. Teressa, Marie may not be safe with me, however I am the safest option she has and I promised you, her safety. I won't let your deaths go in vain/

"You still remember them, Body? Though, they had died 25 years ago, you keep a promise that was almost broken that day." My Mind spoke.

"It was not supposed to play out that way and you know it! You had seen it all but could not see further than my sacrifice. You wanted this didn't you, you bastard!" my Body said infuriated.

"You may take what you say and believe it, but I didn't see it either. Yes, it was not supposed to happen, yet it did! I have no control of what changes in the world nor of the actions done by you! Remember that!"

My phone buzzed in my pocket. I was pulled out of my thoughts and checked who sent a message. It was an unknown contact. I responded to it and was surprised that it was Amelia.

I put away my phone. I thought for a few moments and informed my team that I had someone to meet. What could have possibly gone wrong, nothing. It was a normal meet up.
