Axel blasted towards the bolf, the force pushing off dirt, but due to the situation, even he didn't notice it.
His body felt, lighter, faster and stronger, the pain numb, just raw anger left, as he approached the bolf.
But it wasn't just going to take that attack head on, the bolf swung it's paw, weakly, without much effort.
Still playing with me huh, his anger rising more.
Just before the paw made contact, Axel jerked to a stop and spun around the claw, dodging it.
Without wasting a beat, he dashed forward, the Gishiki held by both hands, cutting through the air as he approached its hind legs.
Axel spun around, increasing his momentum, and swung hard, the katana clashing with the bolf's leg, the blade effortlessly slicing the fur this time, and then he felt a bit of resistance.
But Axel pushed harder, the momentum from the dash and the spin proving effective, as the blade passed through, drawing blood.
The momentum carried Axel forward as he skidded through the dirt, coming to a stop, he sharply turned around.
Before the bolf's hulking figure could turn around, he dashed out of sight, following the creature's left leg, and slashed, drawing blood again, the bolf turned around again, but he was gone again.
Slash, the sword connected, deepening the wound from before, the bolf howled and leapt back, creating distance.
Axel exhaled hard, observing the creature, their gazes locked on each other, the grin now gone, the bolf snarling at him.
Finally taking me serious huh.
He had intentionally attacked the hind legs, making it difficult for the bolf to lick it, unlike when he attacked it's forelimbs.
But unfortunately, he knew, the wounds aren't deep enough, most likely just itch to the bolf, he wasn't able to cut deeper, the creature had insane muscle structure, and his strength was severely lacking.
But still, it seems his movements had annoyed the creature or at least made it take him a bit serious, but that wasn't enough, he grinned and held the katana with both hands, then he dashed towards the creature.
The bolf leaned back, and pushed off the ground, its massive legs kicking up dirt, as it leapt up, attacking as well, its claw lifted up, ready to slam into him.
With the claws looming over him, Axel smirked, and then instantaneously, golden threads materialized, and he disappeared out of the way of the claw.
Axel appeared in the air, levelled with the massive black eyes of the creature, his figure reflected in its brown pupil, the katana held forward in front of Axel.
Ptui!
The katana pierced into its eye with minimal effort, mostly due to the momentum of the bolf, it literally drove its eye into the katana, not like it could stop itself.
The bolf landed, letting out a loud howl of pain, Axel standing on its massive snort smirked and pulled out the katana, a viscous liquid splashing on him.
Then with a grin he stabbed again, and again, the bolf screaming out and thrashing about, trying to get Axel off.
But Axel lodged the katana into its eye, and hung onto it, the thrashing making the sword cut deeper.
In the end you're still an animal, Axel gritted his teeth and held on.
Then a looming shadow appeared over him, the massive paw of the creature approaching.
Axel smirked, I expected you to do this sooner, this was all in his plan, after all the creature seemed smart, he had expected it to use its paws to get him off after the first strike.
But it seemed the pain or something overrode that smartness, it's animal instinct taking over.
But too bad for you, after all, I wasn't expecting to kill you with this, He smiled, golden threads appearing around him.
Bang!
The sound resounded as the creatures paw slammed into its face, pushing it back, a small shockwave originating due to the impact.
Axel rolled on the ground a few meters away, and sprung to his feet as the bolf roared in pain, that must have hurt, sure he had not killed it, but this was all part of the plan, he had accomplished the second stage of his plan.
Make it angry, "and I have done it beautiful," he grinned as he looked at the bolf which had calmed down now.
Its one eye locked on to him, blood soaking its fur, flowing freely from the empty bloodied socket.
The creature gave him a menacing stare, teeth bare, gnashing against each other, muscle taut, gleaming with power.
Maybe too angry, he thought, here comes the hard part, he turned around and broke into a sprint, his speed faster than usual.
Then, boom, a sound resounded from behind, the bolf coming after him, sprinting madly, recklessly, it's animal instincts completely taking over.
Axel glanced over his shoulder, I was counting on that, he thought, diving behind a tree, and rolling out of the way, rightly so, as the next moment, the tree broke into splinters, the bolts claw tearing it apart, sending the trunk flying away.
The bolf roared as it caught sight of Axel, already sprinting away, it's powerful legs kicking off dirt as it took off after him, it's eye fixed on him, the wind suddenly humming around its tusk, spikes on its back charging up with energy, a slight thrumming in the air.
Axel glanced over his shoulder, stomach turning as he saw green energy gathering around the tusks, thrumming as the beast raced after him, in the next second, a projectile came racing after him.
In a second, the projectile was already upon him, too fast to dodge, but at the last second before impact, he disappeared, teleported, the projectile wrecking havoc, completely missing him.
Axel appeared a few meters away and looked on as the projectile uprooted trees in its path, not slowing down, good thing I started activating as soon as I saw the energy gathering, else…
The bolf roared again as it saw him at the side, safe, it mindlessly dashed towards him, uprooting trees in it's path, and leapt up.
Axel appeared a little distance away, four teleportations now, he was already panting, almost at his limit, at most one more.
Then he smirked, but well, mission accomplished, you die here vile creature, he looked behind him, the snakes fang stuck in the ground, it's glinting edge facing him, the rot around it slowly spreading.
Axel locked gazes with the bolf, grinned and gestured for it to come.
As if reacting to that, the creature roared, louder than usual, the wind swirling towards it, as if summoned, its spiky suddenly glowing green.
Axel frowned, he didn't really know much about this creature afterall, there was no way he could dodge that projectile, not to mention whatever power the creature might have, he was gambling on the fact that the creature was mad enough to engage physically with him, so rather than running, he taunted it, and it seemed to be working, except he didn't know what to expect as the air contorted around the bolf.
Suddenly, he felt a cold chill travel up his spine as the bolf disappeared, without any hesitation, he hurriedly activated the thread of continuity.
Axel rolled onto the floor, the wind blowing like a hurricane around him, yet there was silence.
Then bang! The sound came, creating a shockwave, the wind scattering everything around, bending trees, making him grit his teeth, hands over his ear, the wind blowing him against a tree, creaking from the shockwave.
After a few seconds, the wind subsidized, Axel gasping, taking in as much air as possible, he broke into a coughing fit.
What was that, a final attack of some sort, he froze at the sight as he looked at the fang.
Fortunately, his plan had worked, maybe too well, he thought as he walked towards the fang, the bolf's head was completely shattered, split into multiple pieces, a putrid smell coming from it, as it appeared to melt, an effect of the venom no doubt.
But whatever the bolf has done was frickin epic, for it to crack the fang, he thought, examining the cracks spreading on the fang from the impact.
Axel cleaned imaginary sweat, I doubt even a piece of me would have been found if that attack touched me.
"I must have really really pissed it off huh," Axel scratched his head, then he hissed as pain radiated from his leg.
His eyes widened as he looked down, blood freely flowing from a deep gash, at that moment, almost as if whatever adrenaline had been keeping him up had expired, all the pain, hunger and thirst came crashing down on him.
But his eye was fixed on the wound, even with the preemptive activation, he had still been wounded this deep, he chuckled nervously, fortunately everything turned out well, for now let's head back to the cave.
But his breath caught as he looked up, another bolf was glaring at him from the trees, scanning him.
I'm done, Axel gave up, he was terrible wounded, exhausted, and there was no chance he could use the thread of continuity again for at least a day.
Not to mention this one was even bigger than the one he just dealt with, it's big black and grey pupils starring at him from the jungle, it was game over, Axel concluded.
But his eyes widened as the creature turned around with a sense of urgency, wind howling around it and it disappeared the next second.
Axel frowned, something worst was coming wasn't it, afterall why would a creature like that suddenly run, that fast too.
There was no hope for him, he thought, but his eyes widened as the forest suddenly started reverting in front of his eyes, the plants getting younger, the layer of soil thinning, revealing the rock beneath.
He watched as the forest rapidly disappeared before his eyes, almost as if it did not exist, within minutes, every trace of the forest was gone, the familiar rocky terrain from before revealing itself.
Axel chuckled upon putting two and two together, it seemed like it was time for something to come out, something so terrible even the forest went to sleep, and he could guess what.
The next second as if confirming his guess, a loud screech resounded, the dragon was back.
