Later;
Qin Wei leaned back in his seat with a faint smirk curling on his lips as he found the seal of the House Griffin House Lord on both of the contracts. "That was faster than I expected." He commented to himself, munching the last piece of steak on the plate.
Vanessa gave a small smile of her own as she replied. "The Lord is wise enough to realize the worth of Master Icarus's talismans."
Luna muttered under her breath, complaining almost inaudibly in response to her statement, "If he knew the worth of talismans, why did he send such a low offer earlier?"
"Hmm?" Vanessa raised her eyebrow.
Qin Wei didn't say anything about that. He kept silent. Instead, he simply pressed his thumb onto the parchment, and the red wax attached to his thumb formed a print on the contract.
After removing the wax from his thumb, he then slid one of the two copies across the table toward Vanessa. She took it silently, giving a small nod.
Just as she was about to turn around to leave, she stopped and glanced at Luna, "By the way, Luna..."
"Yes?" Luna blinked.
"You are not wearing the maid attire. I believe I mentioned to you before, right?"
To that, Qin Wei replied, "Oh, that. Don't worry about it. She was leaving for some work at her guild. When she returns, I'll make sure she follows the rules." s Qin Wei said those words, Vanessa gave a simple nod and continued to walk away.
Just as he picked up the wine and took a sip...
Ding!
A translucent window materialized in front of his eyes; the holographic screen had notifications.
Qin Wei froze for a second, putting down the glass. "Hmm?"

*
Qin Wei stared at the floating text for a moment, the spoon now trembling slightly. He blinked and looked at the contract again.
80 gold coins per exploding talisman. 200 for storage ones.
A minimum purchase of 100 talismans per month for a year.
He ran a quick calculation in his head. That's… almost twelve thousand a month minimum. One year… one hundred forty-four thousand guaranteed.
But that wouldn't be enough to unlock the exchange system. Perhaps he was too lenient on the terms? Should he have put the minimum buy atleast 300 instead?
While he was wondering, his eyes captured the mission again, especially the reward.
An Aether Crystal?
Qin Wei's eyes lit up in excitement.
Of course, he knew about the wonderful Aether Crystal. He created the concept, although it is a bit abstract, as in a gaming VR world, he wrote, it is used to summon a fairy, which then acts as a guide.
In another novel, a fantasy one, it was used to summon an angel which act as his protector. In the latest one, he only drafted but did not publish. The Aether crystal would fuse with the main protagonist's body, and it is used to develop a Sage core in his body.
The Sage core is something similar to the spirit/mana core, but this one only absorbs and stores natural energy inside. The difference between the Sage core and the mana core is that the Sage core can be replenished with ease, as the world is filled with natural energy everywhere. Unless he is imprisoned in a vacuum, he can have an endless amount of energy that will keep replenishing his reserves.
But one thing is certain for sure. In his novels, whenever his protagonist gained the Aether crystal, his growth would rise at an exponential rate.
And the other one, the Exchange System; Even though the name sounded dull, it excited him even more than the Aether Crystal.
Since the transmigration and discovery of the system, Qin Wei knew that with millions of credits needed to buy a skill in the library or a gear, there was no way this War God system would just let him earn credits, only through completing missions.
There would be another way indeed. And that is this exchange system.
So, what he has to do is earn money by selling talismans and then use the earned money and exchange for the credits, which could then be used to buy skills in the Library or buy some awesome gear. The only question was what the exchange rate was. Usually, it is either 10:1 or 100:1. He just has to wait to find out which one.
And to earn that 1 million, Qin Wei decided to go full Talisman Creation route. It is the fastest way to earn that money.
The plan was to first earn money and unlock the exchange rate. Then, use the exchange rate and earn the credits to buy various seals and create talismans, and gain the Aether Crystal.
Finishing up his breakfast, he sat in the study room, pretending to study some historical events, but in reality, he had his library open, and he was flipping pages one after another to find another talisman, in order to speed up the pace of earning money.
In the end, he picked the one that is in his price range and can be sold for high money. However, what surprised him was its description.
Ding! 1,800 credits deducted.
[New Skill Unlocked: Paralyze Seal]
Paralyze seal: When placed on a person, object, or even terrain, the seal spreads across the target. As long as the seal remains intact, the target will be in a state of immobility, provided that the target is under Rank-6 or the object is under the Earth grade stage. Note: For Rank-6 and above enemies, earth grade and above artifacts, multiple tags are required to be linked together.
Qin Wei exhaled slowly. "This sealing talisman doesn't seem like much, but…" Clenching his fists, he muttered further, "But it will surely be a game changer in the hands of an expert."
He swiftly opened a drawer and pulled out fresh rice paper.
Placing his palm on one of them, he mumbled. "Paralyze Seal, activate."
