"I still require time… Two more minutes. This artifact is soul-based; I cannot tear its commands. Thus, as long as he doesn't allow it, it's impossible to sabotage its gluttony for all Arcana besides his."
Subaru said with some calm and concern, his body crouched beside the hand, holding it tightly as it tried desperately to get out of his grip like a fish out of water.
Noticing my obvious confusion at his mention of impossible and needing time, he added, "I need to destroy it. That's possible."
"So… You're asking us to hold back Alyndra while fighting against A-rank Onis?" I gulped my saliva twice before just sighing with a simple nod, "Got you."
Subaru's expressionless face cracked with a smile, "You will make a great samurai."
Crack!! Tham!
The dreadful sound of space shattering echoed, putting everybody on the edge of their wits, worsened by Alyndra's mocking voice,
"I would just give up at this point, there's no hope now. You stand no chance. You have changed nothing in the vision I'd seen, dirty vampire." He shook his head scornfully while pushing his sword deeper against Kael's fist.
"It will change!" Crimson blood covered Kael's hand, but his grip didn't weaken in the slightest as he yelled at the top of his lungs, just an inch away from Alyndra's face.
Before Alyndra could reply, his face violently turned as if punched with Suge's another sonic boom.
"It will change," Suge said calmly before releasing a similar attack again.
"Like they said. And, you didn't have to tell me you'd give, I know you would." I rubbed my temples without even bothering to look at Alyndra, running my brains on how the fuck we were supposed to survive before leaping as my instincts flared, sensing something behind me.
Air thinned as fifteen purple, cracks with purple thunder crackling all around them, cracked into existence. Next second, they were replaced by towering giants, still shocking everyone even though they were expecting them.
ROAARRR!!
Their spirit-shattering, angry cries caused violent earthquakes across the hallway, which was already in complete ruins. I was acting so cocky when I first met them, mostly because Kael was killing them left and right, and I had Subaru.
Now though… Maybe transmigration actually wasn't the best thing that happened to me. Thoughts were rising.
The Giants' faces darkened as they noticed Kael's back. Without hesitation, they charged with tremors that shook everyone off balance. I felt their grips tightening unnaturally on their bloody weapons, like they were angry.
"Kobi!" I called, noticing a giant had basically dived across the narrow hallway, his uncanny human face gleaming with bloodlust towards Kael, who couldn't possibly let go of Alyndra. He was the only one close enough to react on time and handle it.
Kobi hadn't noticed, still adjusting his body to the incredible damage boost consuming Alyndra's attack had given him. But, at my yell, his legs instantly sprang with a jump, using Kael's broad shoulder to get right above him.
The giant swiftly raised a massive baseball bat with meter-long, rusty brown spikes covering every inch of it, at first looking to be blocked by the narrow hallway's remaining bricked walls.
But, the walls shattered like they didn't exist, without resistance at the first contact, as his arm, as big as a massive truck, appeared ahead of him, the bat hitting Kobi.
It felt like the time had slowed down as the giant spikes paused against Kobi's body, giving everybody hope, until—
"Seems your ability isn't as invincible as you thought it would be." Alyndra let out a dry chuckle.
Kobi was biting his lip, suppressing a scream, his body trembling violently before it froze.
Complete stillness took over for a moment till a gut-wrenching cry shook everyone to their core. Kobi's cry.
Followed by a resounding SPLATT!!
Kobi's chest exploded with a blood shower, like a camphene bottle opened, covering everyone, even people quite a distance away, with his blood as his body slammed directly against Kael's head, moving like a baseball hit as hard as possible.
Kael's body didn't budge, as if planted in the ground, but his pupils were shaking as streaks of Kobi's blood covered every part of his face, some drops entering his eyes. He could feel Kobi's half of the spine against his head.
By the force he was thrown, Kobi's back was pierced by Kael's head, which, if was of a normal human, would've exploded like a watermelon falling from thirty floors high.
Kael's neck bent slightly backwards as tears flowed from his eyes.
"Wouldn't it have been better inside the cell?" Alyndra muttered to Kobi with a devilish smile.
"Shut the fuck up!" Kael pushed forward, the sorrow replaced with rage.
I felt a strong urge to vomit as I tried to look at Kobi's body, trying desperately to see if he was alive. His chest was like a shattered glass, broken in thousands of pieces.
My heart pounded in my ears as I tried to find one fine organ, but no, all of his ribs had shattered into uncountable pieces, each one piercing an organ.
His mouth was bleeding, his eyes completely lifeless.
"I-is dad… dead?" My face paled as I heard Ren's cracking voice.
He shouldn't be… His ability… What worsened me was that I was the one who yelled for him to move.
As I focused deeper on his wounds with [Eye of Sanguine], my eyes brightened, a very heavy invisible weight lifting from my chest.
Before I could be vocal, "AHHHH!!!" Ren's rage-filled battle cry, matching the giant's roar interrupted. With a face covered completely in tears and snot, she turned her water dagger Gatling gun towards the giant, trying to stand up's very human, but uncannily human and emotionless face.
Hundreds of long and sharp water daggers hit its face point-blank. Each flew away, deflected by the pure sturdiness of its skin.
The giant's wide eyes didn't even blink as its pupil once glanced at Ren like she was an ant before returning to charge towards Kael again.
Ren didn't stop, screaming louder and louder as she raised her other hand, an ominous aura instantly surrounded it as at first a small water ball appeared in her hand, but it was doubling in size every second.
