Dimension Master

Chapter 135: 135: Quest Complete

A strange sensation passed through Drake as he pressed through the barrier of the arch. As Jewel flew up high, the soft voice of the system floated through Drake's mind.

{Special Quest Complete}

{Welcome Back}

Jewel soared through the sky before landing on the road near where the arch had been, but it was now gone.

Where the arch had been, the road was empty. Drake figured he was the first one out of the dungeon. He wasn't sure.

"System, please locate my cohort: Chad, Mike, Renn, and Ruby," he mentally told his system.

There were a few moments before the system responded.

{Cohort is currently unavailable}

{Cohort is currently on their Special Quest.}

Drake sighed. "I hope they're okay," he told Jewel, rubbing her enormous head.

Jewel circled the area, keeping a watchful eye on where the other boys would come out of the special quest. Drake loved the feeling of riding Jewel. He wished he could fly with her back home, but knew it wouldn't be a good idea. Everyone would be after them.

After landing, Drake hopped off Jewel's back, who immediately transformed into a smaller version of herself. She was the size of a large dog.

Drake pulled out the two large food bags and fed her. There was a stiff leather bowl that flattened into a disk attached to the side of the water bag. When pulled up, it formed the bowl.

Drake filled the bowl with water from the bag and let her drink until she was full.

He did the same with the food before packing everything back up, this time storing it all inside his storage cuff.

He pulled out his own food and ate while waiting for his friends. He knew the boss was dangerous, which worried him.

As he watched where the arch had been when he exited his own special quest, the arch reappeared. Drake watched as Chad stumbled out of the arch. Ruby leaped off his shoulder and transformed quickly, trying to catch Chad before he fell to the ground. Drake rushed up and caught him before he fell to the ground. Ruby didn't transform fast enough to catch Chad herself.

"Did you get healing potions?" Drake asked his friend. "Where's your healing sword?"

Before he could speak, Chad passed out. Drake pulled off the healing ring and placed it on Chad. Immediately, Chad's injuries slowly healed. The cuts and gashes all over his body stitched themselves together until he was completely healed.

Drake took his ring back and let his friend rest. He knew the dungeon quest was difficult. If he hadn't found the potions in the short tunnel, he wouldn't have survived fighting the boss.

As Chad slept, his dimension clothing materialized along with his weapons. Drake sighed in relief, glad that his friend was alive and well.

With Ruby and Chad back, all he had to do was wait for Renn and Mike.

Drake checked Ruby for injuries. Mentally, she had assured him that all she needed was food and rest.

Drake took out some food while she transformed into her smaller beast form. He used the small food bags he found in the dungeon. It turned out that Ruby loved fruit and cheese… even more than meat.

The arch that had dematerialized after Chad and Ruby exited suddenly materialized again. Drake rushed toward it, already pulling off his ring to use on Mike.

Mike walked out with Renn by his side. He frowned as he made eye contact with Drake. "That really sucked. It wouldn't let me kill the boss until I cleared the entire dungeon."

Drake didn't say anything; he just rushed up to him and then hugged him tightly.

Mike's gaze went to Chad. "Is he okay?"

Drake nodded. "Yeah. I healed him with my healing ring. He's just sleeping now. Are you and Renn injured?"

"No, we're fine. We found a box of healing potions in a side tunnel. We healed before the boss and about halfway through fighting it. There aren't any left." Mike explained. His gaze zoned in on Jewel, his eyes widening. "You have a dragon?"

"I'm surprised you didn't. She was an egg in one of the chests I found in the dungeon," Drake explained to his friend.

Mike pulled out the large magical storage bag, then lined up all the boxes. One by one, he opened them. Inside one of the boxes, there was an electric blue egg. Drake chuckled. "Looks like you have one too."

Letting Mike go through his boxes and bags, he went to Chad's side, who suddenly gasped, sitting up abruptly. "Was it a dream?"

"Sorry to disappoint you, but no, it was all real. You need to go through the boxes you found. I'm pretty sure you have an egg that needs to be hatched." Drake pointed at Jewel. "Mike is hatching his right now. That means you should have one too. I bet yours is either gold or white."

Chad stared at Jewel with wide eyes. "No wonder the words said I gained a dragon evolution. I didn't know what that meant."

When it was all said and done, the moment Chad and Mike hatched their eggs, gave them their armor and saddles, and then fed them, their dragons also evolved.

Mike named his Thor because it was a lightning dragon, which was electric blue, while Chad's turned out to be a healing dragon that could heal with its breath. He named his beautiful white dragon, Althea, meaning healing power.

All three boys were given endless food bags for their dragons. They had smaller ones, for when the dragon was small. All three dragons could change size at will. Either the small lizard form, the same size that Renn and Ruby could transform into as well, or the large dog size, which they were now. It would be convenient when going back to the ordinary world. All three of the dragons could speak, but since they were all technically babies, they sounded like it.
