Cultivating in the Wizard World

Chapter 102: Meeting

Most importantly, even with the consecutive downfall of two Evil Gods, those Foreign Demons still did not show any sign of decline.

Obviously, even losing two deities didn't matter to those invading entities at all.

The implication is chilling, suggesting that there might be even more powerful forces behind them that have yet to emerge.

"According to the oracle, those Foreign Demons who follow the Foreign Evil God and took advantage of the breach in the plane to invade, are indeed numerous," a Priest dressed in a holy robe sitting in the corner said in a low voice, his words carrying a divine power.

"They are like a plague, spreading across the land, and have already caused considerable damage to our kingdoms and tribes."

"The trouble is," the Dwarf Elder stroked his beard, his voice booming like thunder, "most of the points where they landed are deep within our allied camps; yet, they are scattered widely, making it hard to catch them all at once."

The human King also deeply agreed: "Since those invaders, who call themselves Wizards, intensified their assault on the front lines, most of our strong warriors are now tied up, making it difficult to deal with these deeply hidden foes like maggots burrowing into flesh."

The hall fell into a brief silence.

These dispersed "Wizards," like countless fleas scuttling within the body, may not be lethal, but are incredibly annoying and weaken their rear forces.

"What is the progress on reading the souls of those newly invading Wizards?" the Dragon King, who had been silent until now, asked in a deep voice.

Upon hearing this, everyone instinctively turned their gaze to one side of the round table.

A giant eyeball with several tentacles was quietly floating there, belonging to one of the dominators of the underground world of the Elorcia Plane: the Demon Eye Race.

As a once intellectually superior species that established an underground empire, although inherently evil, the crisis across the entire plane forced them to stand alongside other races to collaborate.

As an inherently evil race, the Demon Eye excels in manipulating the consciousness of other creatures and extracting necessary information from the manipulated brains and souls.

"... still a failure," a slightly eerie voice emanated from the eyeball.

Upon closer inspection, it was not the Demon Eye itself speaking, but rather using its tremendous spiritual power to resonate the surrounding air, simulating sound.

After all, very few present were weak; its mental transmission could not break through the mental protection barriers of these individuals.

"We have lost a total of three elder-level individuals, and it is almost certain that even the weakest individuals among these Foreign Demons cannot provide any relevant information through soul reading or brain devouring, and may even retaliate..."

After the Demon Eye finished speaking, everyone focused their gaze on the black-skinned Elf beside it.

The Dark Elf Queen casually waved her hand, her simple gesture filled with mesmerizing enchantment:

"It's no use, whether through torture or allure, they don't reveal anything. Their behavior is odd; they don't seem to possess such strong willpower, so something must be obstructing them from revealing relevant information."

"So, even the weakest individuals among those 'Wizards' are protected deep within their souls?"

"What a bother, is this some kind of racial talent ability of theirs?"

"Judging by their behavior, it doesn't look like any collective consciousness..."

"By your account, could it be that these entities have been altered according to world invasion standards since their birth?"

"Are you kidding?!"

...

"Gentlemen."

Just as the ongoing debate showed no signs of stopping, suddenly, a young Mage sitting at the end of the table, who had remained silent, spoke.

He wore a simple Mage robe, yet his gaze betrayed wisdom beyond his years.

All the leaders, upon seeing this "young" Mage, showed a respectful demeanor.

Even the leaders of some evil races, while showing fear in their eyes, displayed respect upon seeing this Mage.

The young Mage cleared his throat: "I have a suggestion. In that case, why don't we issue bounties?"

Seeing the puzzled looks upon them, he continued to explain: "Although this batch of invading 'Wizards' is numerous, they aren't particularly powerful compared to those on the front lines; they are still within the scope that High Tier Adventurers can handle."

"Their most troublesome trait is being scattered, hiding deep within the territory; if we aim to search for them, vast amounts of manpower and resources will be required. In that case, why not mobilize an equally large number of Adventurers?"

"We can issue high bounties, targeting those scattered and hidden 'Wizards.' This way, we can leverage the power of the Adventurer's Guild, letting them take the initiative to eliminate them. As long as we are willing to pay a high enough price, we can mobilize enough hands. Even if they can't kill them, it will significantly limit these invaders' actions."

"More importantly," the Mage's eyes gleamed with wisdom, "through this process, those Adventurers that excel in the bounty hunts will have their abilities and loyalty verified. We can directly recruit them into the internal ranks of various racial armies and even bolster all the Knight Orders and Warbands, alleviating the pressure on the front lines."

These words brought a spark of insight to all the leaders present!

They had fallen into a pattern of thinking; it was forgotten that when those Wizards first invaded, they were far too powerful for Adventurers not only to be of help but even to counteract.

After all, in a society with extraordinary power, truly powerful Adventurers had long been integrated into nobility, leaving behind those of mediocre strength, like misshapen melons and jujubes.

Thus, when dealing with this new batch of invading Wizards, they did not initially think of this.

This strategy can simultaneously utilize civil forces to clear out the "invading Demons" and replenish urgently needed fresh blood, strengthening their military power.

"Brilliant!" the Beastman Chief slammed the table, a gleeful smile appearing on his rugged face, "Those greedy Adventurers will do anything for gold coins!"

"It's a good idea," the Elf Queen softly agreed, a hint of appreciation flashing in her eyes.

Finally, after a brief consultation, all the leaders agreed to this idea.

A series of bounties, along with various orders, issued from the palace, swiftly spreading across every Adventurer's Guild, tavern, and town bulletin board within the Elorcia Plane.

A "nationwide hunt" targeting the Wizard Apprentices quietly began.
