The CEO's Wife Is a Medical Master

Chapter 460: Hate Her to Death

Chapter 460: Chapter 460: Hate Her to Death

Cara Preston was heartbroken over the loss and utterly miserable. Yet, the more she thought about it, the more something felt wrong. She had a gut feeling that this whole thing had been orchestrated!

The first person who came to mind was Vera Xavier!

She let out a wretched cry, "Vera Xavier, I’m going to kill you!"

But after she screamed, she was once again filled with utter helplessness. In her current situation, she couldn’t even go after Vera Xavier. She couldn’t report the four hundred thousand to the police, nor could she let anyone know about it.

Most importantly, she had absolutely no proof that Vera Xavier was behind it.

She finally understood what Rona Langdon must have felt back when she stole her money and jumped off the train. It was a feeling of complete despair and helplessness.

Now, not only was her money gone, but she didn’t even have a place to stay.

She knew perfectly well that she didn’t have many options. The best one was to return to the Preston Family. However, after being duped by Vera Xavier today, she had arrogantly assumed that with money in hand, she would never have to put up with the Preston Family’s attitude again. As a result, she had burned her bridges.

No matter how thick-skinned she was, she knew she could never go back to the Preston Family now.

That only left the Xavier Family. But in her heart, she utterly despised the Xaviers and didn’t want to go back there at all.

But right now, she had no better choice. She let out a few sobs, then scrambled to her feet and started walking in the direction of the Xavier Family’s home.

Jack Judd emerged from the dark alley, clutching Cara Preston’s bag, and saw Nathaniel Nathan standing under a nearby tree.

The moment he saw him, Jack Judd’s first instinct was to flee. But then he remembered he was on a job for Vera Xavier, and he grew bolder.

After dismissing the other thugs with him, he walked over with a smile. "Sir, what brings you here?"

Nathaniel Nathan glanced at him, his tone flat. "I came to observe what a ’classy gangster’ looks like. To see how your sister-in-law has been training you all lately."

Jack Judd immediately felt the pressure mount. He scratched his head and said, "We followed all of Sister-in-law’s instructions to the letter."

Nathaniel Nathan glanced at the bag in his hand and said slowly, "You’ve certainly shown some improvement. But personally, I feel that ’class’ isn’t something you just talk about. It’s about putting it into action."

Jack Judd could tell there was a hidden meaning in his words. He asked quickly, "Do you have instructions for me, Sir?"

"I wouldn’t call them instructions." Nathaniel Nathan’s tone grew colder. "Some people in this world are like dogs that can’t be taught not to eat shit. They’re like leeches—once they latch on, they won’t let go until they’ve sucked you dry. The only way to deal with someone like that is to cut off all their escape routes and give them no opportunities whatsoever."

A chill ran down Jack Judd’s spine as he listened, but he still didn’t fully grasp Nathaniel’s meaning. He couldn’t help but ask, "How do we cut her off?"

Nathaniel Nathan frowned. "You’re a gangster. Can’t you even figure out something this simple?"

Jack Judd let out a soft "Ah?" Nathaniel explained with strained patience, "To make someone truly suffer, you force them to do what they hate most. If they’re greedy and lazy, you give them the hardest manual labor. If they’re vain, you drag them down into the dirt. And if they’re self-righteous, you make them understand that there’s a steep price to pay for pretending to be noble when you have nothing to back it up."

Jack Judd immediately recalled something Aaron Cheney had told him: Rona Langdon had once nearly thrown Vera Xavier into one of Corvale’s black factories to work. Understanding dawned on him. "You’re right, Sir. I know what to do now!"
