Chapter 722: Chapter 722: Fighting Expert (4)
Vera Xavier was now thankful she hadn’t known Laura White for long, and they had no real emotional attachment. Otherwise, this would have been truly disheartening.
She said flatly, "I should say the same to you. There’s always someone better out there. I didn’t think it was a big deal that you had a problem with me, but Shirley and Fiona have nothing to do with this. You really didn’t need to drag them into it."
"That’s because they’re both stupid," Laura White said coldly. "I’m clearly superior to you, yet they always take your side. More importantly, Shirley Ewing dared to lay a hand on me today, so she has to pay the price. As for Fiona Wright... since she’s such good friends with you, she can just get expelled with you!"
Hearing this, Vera Xavier realized deep down that she had completely misjudged Laura White. ’So she really does have such a dark side to her.’
Secretary Archer chimed in from the side, "Ms. White, why are you even explaining anything to them? They’re just a bunch of clowns from the countryside!"
In his eyes, anyone who wasn’t from Veridia might as well be from the countryside.
Laura White pursed her lips slightly, then looked at Vera Xavier and said, "If you admit right now that you have a depraved character, I might let you off the hook and allow you to remain at Veridia University."
Vera Xavier laughed in spite of herself. "I never knew privilege could be wielded like this. I guess I’ve really learned my lesson this time. You can’t just look at people who seem straightforward and blindly believe they’re actually upright and harmless. So, Laura White, for that, I actually have you to thank."
"Why are you thanking her!" Shirley Ewing muttered sullenly. "I could tell she was no good from the start. You were the only one who thought she wasn’t a bad person deep down! Now you see her for who she is, don’t you? She’s completely black-hearted!"
"I’m thanking her for letting me see her true colors," Vera Xavier said flatly. "It’s given me a deeper understanding of human nature."
After speaking, she looked at Laura White. "But do you really think you’ve already won? That you can actually get us expelled?"
"Of course!" Laura White was extremely confident. "I’m always the one who makes the rules. Vera Xavier, at this point, I might as well tell you something else. Susan Caldwell did use some schemes to ruin your reputation, and I helped her a great deal."
"You probably still don’t know this, but when I warned you back then, it was just a way to get closer to you. I wanted to see what you were really made of. I just never expected you to be so shameless, fooling around with so many different guys."
"I’m doing this to uphold our school’s wholesome atmosphere, so don’t blame me for being so ruthless."
The truth was, when she first arrived at Veridia University, she heard that Vera Xavier was the only student in years to have been admitted with a perfect score on every subject. From that moment, she was filled with resentment toward her.
Then, when she met Vera Xavier and was stunned by her exceptional beauty, that resentment only grew. That’s why she challenged Vera the first time they met. Back then, it truly was just a simple challenge.
Later, after witnessing the argument between Vera Xavier and Susan Caldwell in the cafeteria, she discovered that quite a few people were at odds with Vera. This seemed like an opportunity.
