Chapter 782 - 383: Let Him Scout the Way Himself

Chapter 782: Chapter 383: Let Him Scout the Way Himself

Shen Qiuyue’s expression instantly turned cold, her gaze icy as she looked at Zhou Ze.

"Young Master Zhou, please show some respect. These are the ruins of an ancient civilization, not your backyard!"

"Respect? Hmph. What’s there to respect about this pile of junk? It’s a waste of time!"

Zhou Ze sneered, his tone growing even more contemptuous.

"I thought this was going to be something incredible. After all this fuss, this is it? What a disappointment. A total waste of my time!"

"Young Master Zhou, if you’re disappointed, you can go back on your own. No one is forcing you to stay here!"

Li Chang’an said calmly, but his eyes sharpened.

"Go back? What a joke. I went through all the trouble to get here, so why would I just leave? I want to see just what kind of treasures are in these busted ruins that made you all raise such a ruckus!"

Zhou Ze scoffed, his voice dripping with arrogance.

"But I can’t expect anything from a bunch of useless losers like you. It’s up to me to personally step in and find the real treasure!"

"Young Master Zhou, if you want to go down and explore, be my guest. But please don’t interfere with our mission!"

Li Chang’an said indifferently, no longer paying any mind to Zhou Ze’s taunts.

He turned to look at Shen Qiuyue, Sun Yang, and Han Ruoxi.

"Let’s go down and take a look."

"Captain, how are we supposed to get down? This pit is so deep, and we don’t have any ropes or tools. It won’t be easy, will it?"

Sun Yang said worriedly, staring into the bottomless pit.

"We don’t need to go through all that trouble."

The corners of Li Chang’an’s mouth lifted slightly. He walked to the edge of the pit, took a deep breath, and leaped right in.

"Whoa!"

Han Ruoxi gasped, covering her mouth with a worried expression.

"Captain!"

Shen Qiuyue and Sun Yang were also taken aback. They rushed to the edge of the pit and looked down.

They saw Li Chang’an’s figure plunging rapidly into the pit. His descent was incredibly fast yet perfectly steady, without a hint of panic.

"The Captain, he’s..."

Sun Yang stared at Li Chang’an’s form in disbelief, at a loss for words.

"Don’t worry, the Captain will be fine."

Shen Qiuyue said calmly, though a trace of surprise lingered in her eyes.

"The Captain’s skills are even more impressive than we imagined!"

"Yeah, the Captain is amazing!"

Han Ruoxi also breathed a sigh of relief, a look of adoration on her face.

"Let’s go down too."

With that, Shen Qiuyue also took a leap and jumped into the pit.

"Whoa, this is intense!"

Sun Yang shouted excitedly and jumped in after her.

Han Ruoxi took a deep breath, mustered her courage, and leaped into the pit as well.

The four of them jumped into the pit one after another, leaving only Zhou Ze and his two bodyguards standing at the edge, staring at each other in bewilderment.

"They... they just jumped down like that?"

Zhou Ze’s eyes widened as he stared in disbelief at the now-empty edge of the pit.

"Second Young Master, it looks like... like they really went down!"

one bodyguard said cautiously, a hint of urgency in his voice.

"They’re insane! They must be! Jumping straight into a pit this deep—do they have a death wish?"

Zhou Ze shrieked, a look of terror on his face.

"No, we can’t let them get ahead of us! We’re going down too!"

He gritted his teeth, seemingly having made up his mind, and started toward the pit’s edge.

"Second Young Master, this... this is too dangerous. Why don’t we just wait? We can decide what to do after they come back up."

The other bodyguard quickly tried to dissuade him, his face full of worry.

"Wait for what? By the time we do anything, it’ll be too late! No, we have to go down. Hurry up, help me down!"

Zhou Ze waved his hand impatiently, urging them on.

The two bodyguards exchanged a helpless glance. Steeling themselves, they could only support Zhou Ze as they cautiously approached the edge of the pit.

"Slower, slower, be careful! Don’t let me fall!"

Zhou Ze instructed them nonstop as they walked, his voice filled with anxiety.

Finally, with the help of his two bodyguards, Zhou Ze reached the edge of the pit. He peeked over the side and was immediately so frightened his face went pale and his legs turned to jelly.

"This... It’s so deep, isn’t it? Are we really going to jump?"

he asked, his voice trembling with fear.

"Second Young Master, maybe... maybe we should just forget it? It’s too dangerous. What if we fall..."

one of the bodyguards tried to dissuade him again, his own voice wavering.

"Shut up! Cut the crap! I’ve already come all this way, how could I give up halfway? Help me down, hurry!"

Zhou Ze roared, trying to sound fierce, but his voice still trembled.

The two bodyguards sighed in resignation. Knowing they couldn’t change Zhou Ze’s mind, they steeled themselves and began to slowly lower him into the pit.

"AH! AH! AH! SLOWER! SLOWER! I’M GOING TO DIE! I’M GOING TO DIE!"

Zhou Ze’s terrified screams and his bodyguards’ helpless sighs echoed continuously from the pit, forming a stark contrast to the calm and decisiveness of the Insect Hunter Squad.

The Insect Hunter Squad plunged rapidly through the dark pit, the wind whistling in their ears.

Han Ruoxi kept her eyes squeezed shut, her body a little stiff, but she still managed to control the sphere of light in her hand to illuminate the way down.

The light illuminated the surrounding stone walls, revealing that the pit’s interior was not smooth but uneven, covered with various rock protrusions and crevices.

"Grab onto the wall to slow your descent!"

Li Chang’an’s steady voice called out from below.

Shen Qiuyue and Sun Yang reacted immediately, reaching out to grab the rocky protrusions on the pit wall to slow their fall.

Han Ruoxi followed their example, cautiously grabbing onto the wall. Though her movements were a bit clumsy, she managed to stabilize herself.

Their rate of descent slowed, and the team members began to climb down slowly, using the rocky ledges on the wall to move downward, bit by bit.

The pit seemed bottomless, dark, and silent, with only the faint sounds of the team climbing and the soft glow from the sphere of light in Han Ruoxi’s hand.

"Hey, Captain, this pit is way too deep. When are we ever going to reach the bottom?"

Sun Yang couldn’t help but complain as he climbed down, a hint of exhaustion in his voice.

"Almost there. Just hang on a little longer."

Li Chang’an’s voice came from below, calm and firm.

"The ruins are right below us. Don’t give up."

Hearing Li Chang’an’s words, Sun Yang gritted his teeth, rallied his spirits, and continued climbing down.

After they had climbed down for some time, a glimmer of light finally appeared below them. It was the glow from Han Ruoxi’s light sphere, which had begun to illuminate the bottom of the pit.

The team members quickened their pace, climbing toward the light, and soon reached the bottom of the pit.

At the bottom of the pit was a huge underground space, even vaster and more spectacular than it had appeared from above.

The ceiling of the space was covered with enormous, uniquely shaped stalactites that glistened under the glow of Han Ruoxi’s light.

Strange rocks of all shapes and sizes were scattered across the ground, along with some unknown glowing plants that adorned the underground space like a fantastical wonderland.

And in the center of this underground space, the ancient and mysterious structure stood silently, looking even more magnificent and breathtaking than it had from above.

The entire building was a primitive gray color. Its peculiar shape was filled with an air of mystery, and its surface was covered in complex patterns and designs that exuded an ancient, time-worn aura.

"Wow! It’s beautiful!"

Han Ruoxi couldn’t help but gasp at the sight before her, her eyes filled with wonder.

"This... So this is a ruin of an ancient civilization? It’s magnificent!"

Sun Yang’s eyes were also wide as he stared at the scene, a look of shock on his face.

"Yes, these are the ruins."

Shen Qiuyue nodded, her voice calm, but her eyes also held a hint of awe.

"It’s even more grand and mysterious than we imagined."

Li Chang’an stood at the very front, his gaze fixed calmly on the ruins before him. His face was expressionless, but his eyes grew deeper and sharper.

"Be careful. There could be unknown dangers inside the ruins. Everyone stay alert."
