Chapter 802 - 393: Li Chang’an’s Plan

Chapter 802: Chapter 393: Li Chang’an’s Plan

He made a throat-slitting gesture.

"This..." Su Wan gasped, her face turning pale. "It’s too crazy. What if Zhou Yuanshan doesn’t take the bait?"

"He’ll take the bait," Li Chang’an said with absolute certainty. "Zhou Ze is his only nephew. He won’t abandon him. Besides, we can create some illusions to make him believe it without a shadow of a doubt."

"What kind of illusions?" Su Wan pressed.

"Well..." Li Chang’an smiled, a sly glint in his eyes. "You’ll find out when the time comes."

Su Wan looked at Li Chang’an with a complicated expression. She understood that his mind was made up and no one could sway him.

"Alright," Su Wan slowly nodded, her tone heavy. "I’ll agree to this. But remember, safety comes first."

"Don’t worry, Minister Su. I know what I’m doing," Li Chang’an smiled, visibly relieved.

"Battle Commander, what are your thoughts?" Su Wan looked toward Lin Yuan, who had been silent the whole time.

Lin Yuan slowly raised his head, his gaze falling on Li Chang’an with approval. "You have courage and boldness, young man," Lin Yuan said slowly, his tone calm. "We’ll do as you say."

"Thank you, Battle Commander!" Li Chang’an said excitedly.

"There’s no need to thank me. You’ve earned this." Lin Yuan smiled and patted Li Chang’an’s shoulder. "Go all out. The 42 Combat Group will always have your back."

Li Chang’an took a deep breath to suppress the surging emotions in his chest and turned to leave the office. A new battle was about to begin. This time, he would take the initiative and utterly crush the Galaxy Group!

Li Chang’an walked out of the Battle Commander’s office and took another deep breath.

"What the hell?!" Sun Yang’s voice instantly exploded, pitching up more than an octave. He nearly jumped out of his chair, like a cat whose tail had just been violently stomped on. "Captain, you’re not messing with me, are you? Is... is this really going to work?"

Han Ruoxi was also dumbfounded. Her eyes were wide open and her mouth slightly agape as she struggled to process the information. Even she, who was usually so level-headed, was completely bewildered at this moment. "Captain... this is..."

Shen Qiuyue stammered as well. Her normally sharp mind felt like it had rusted shut, entirely unable to turn. "This... this is too..." She wanted to say "too crazy," but when the words reached the tip of her tongue, they felt inadequate.

"Everyone, calm down. Stop overreacting." Li Chang’an was the steadiest among them, raising a hand and pressing it down in a placating gesture. "Hear me out. This plan is indeed a bit risky, but it’s the best option we have right now."

His voice deepened, carrying an unquestionable resolve. "That old fox Zhou Yuanshan won’t bite unless he sees a clear payoff. If we don’t offer him some bait, will he just play nice?"

"But... but you can’t use Zhou Ze as bait!" Liu Na said anxiously, her voice cracking. "What if... what if something actually happens to Zhou Ze? How will we explain that?"

"Sister Liu Na, don’t worry." Li Chang’an looked at her with unwavering certainty in his eyes. "Nothing will happen to Zhou Ze. I guarantee it."

"How can you guarantee that?" Liu Na was still uneasy, her brows knit tightly together. "Zhou Yuanshan is not someone to be trifled with. If he really goes off the deep end, who can stop him?"

"He wouldn’t dare." The corners of Li Chang’an’s mouth curled up as a cold smirk appeared. His gaze was as sharp as a blade. "On the Lion’s Fang Star, he can’t turn the world upside down. Besides, it’s not like we’re forcing him into this." A calculating edge crept into his tone. "He delivered himself right to our doorstep."

"Captain, what exactly are you planning to do?" Shen Qiuyue had snapped out of her daze. Her eyes sparkled as she stared intently at him. "Hurry up and tell us!"

"What’s the rush?" Li Chang’an kept them in suspense, his gaze sweeping over the group. "We still need to think this through carefully. First," he cleared his throat, beginning to outline his plan, "we need to make Zhou Yuanshan believe without a shadow of a doubt that Zhou Ze ended up like this because he was attacked by monsters."

"Isn’t that simple?" Sun Yang chimed in. "Zhou Ze said so himself. How could Zhou Yuanshan not believe him?"

"Believe my ass!" Li Chang’an spat. "That old fox Zhou Yuanshan is shrewd. You think he’d just take Zhou Ze’s one-sided story at face value?"

"Then what do we do?" Sun Yang was stumped.

"Act," Li Chang’an uttered a single word. "Put on a grand show so that Zhou Yuanshan has no choice but to believe it."

"How do we act it out?" Shen Qiuyue pressed.

"The key still lies with Zhou Ze." Li Chang’an’s eyes flickered. "Didn’t he lose his memory? Perfect. We’ll use his amnesia to spin a good story."

"Captain, tell us the details," Han Ruoxi urged, her interest piqued as well.

"Doesn’t Zhou Ze still remember fragments of being attacked by the bugs?" Li Chang’an said unhurriedly. "We’ll start from there and ’fill in’ the rest of his memories for him."

"Fill in his memories?" Liu Na paused. "How?"

"It’s simple." Li Chang’an smiled. "We find a psychiatrist to hypnotize him and make him ’recall’ more details. For instance, the process of being abducted by the bugs, where he was locked up, and even... how he was controlled by the monsters."

"This..." Shen Qiuyue listened in stunned disbelief. "Will this actually work? Zhou Ze isn’t an idiot. Will he buy it?"

"It doesn’t matter if he buys it or not." Li Chang’an’s gaze deepened. "What matters is whether Zhou Yuanshan buys it. All we need to do is make Zhou Yuanshan believe that Zhou Ze was controlled by monsters and turned into a Puppet."

"And then?" Sun Yang pressed.

"And then..." The corners of Li Chang’an’s mouth curled up slightly, revealing a meaningful smile. "We just wait for Zhou Yuanshan to walk right into our trap."

"Walk right into our trap?" Everyone exchanged glances, even more confused.

"If Zhou Yuanshan finds out Zhou Ze is being controlled by monsters, what will he do?" Li Chang’an countered with a question.

"He..." Shen Qiuyue’s mind raced, and her eyes lit up. "He’ll definitely try to find a way to save Zhou Ze!"

"Exactly." Li Chang’an nodded. "Zhou Yuanshan only has this one nephew. He won’t just stand by and watch Zhou Ze turn into a monster."

"But how can he save him?" Sun Yang still didn’t understand. "Is he going to run into the ruins himself and fight the monsters to the death?"

"Of course he wouldn’t risk his own neck," Li Chang’an chuckled. "He’ll find someone else to do it."

"Who?"

"Us," Li Chang’an slowly spat out the word. "Besides us, who else understands the situation inside the ruins better?"

"You mean..." Shen Qiuyue gasped. "Zhou Yuanshan will beg us to help him save Zhou Ze?"

"That’s right." Li Chang’an nodded affirmatively. "This is our chance. When the time comes, we can openly and legitimately enter the ruins, and then..." He didn’t finish his sentence, but his meaning was already abundantly clear.

Everyone’s hearts raced as they listened, feeling a mix of nervousness and excitement.

"Captain, this move of yours is absolutely brilliant!" Sun Yang couldn’t help but clap his hands in applause. "You’re playing Zhou Yuanshan like a fiddle and making him willingly jump into a pit!"

"This is called giving him a taste of his own medicine," Li Chang’an said mildly. "Didn’t Zhou Yuanshan want to scheme against us? Then we’ll let him have a good taste of what it’s like to be schemed against."

"However, we still need to be careful with this," Su Wan reminded them. "Zhou Yuanshan isn’t that easy to fool. The slightest misstep, and we’ll blow our cover."

"Don’t worry, Minister Su." Li Chang’an’s gaze was firm. "I will arrange everything to ensure nothing goes wrong."

"Mm," Su Wan nodded. "I believe in you."

"There’s no time to lose. Let’s start taking action now." Li Chang’an stood up, his gaze sweeping over everyone. "Split up and prepare. Let’s try to completely eradicate this cancer, Zhou Yuanshan, as soon as possible!"

"Yes!" the group responded in unison, their voices filled with excitement and anticipation.

A plan of revenge against the Galaxy Group had thus commenced. Meanwhile, Zhou Yuanshan was still kept in the dark, entirely unaware that he had already become the prey, stepping closer and closer into the meticulously laid trap set by Li Chang’an.
