Chapter 803 - 394: Hypnotizing Zhou Ze

Chapter 803: Chapter 394: Hypnotizing Zhou Ze

"Hypnosis?" Liu Na shook her head vigorously at the suggestion. "That’s just stuff you see in movies, isn’t it? Would it actually work in real life?"

"Whether it works or not, we won’t know until we try," Li Chang’an said, a confident smile playing on his lips. "Besides, we aren’t going to fully hypnotize him. We’ll just ’guide’ Zhou Ze’s memory a little."

"Guide?" Shen Qiuyue blinked, still not quite grasping the concept. "How exactly do we guide him?"

"It’s simple." Li Chang’an held up two fingers. "Two steps. Step one: find a reliable psychologist to put Zhou Ze under ’deep hypnosis.’ Of course, this hypnosis is just a show for Zhou Yuanshan to see." He paused, his gaze darkening. "Step two: plant some ’memories’ into him during the process."

"Plant memories?" Han Ruoxi was stunned. "How... how do we do that?"

"That depends on the psychologist’s skill," Li Chang’an chuckled, a sly glint in his eyes. "We’ll have him ’recall’ more details, like how the bugs abducted him, where he was locked up, and even... how the monsters controlled him."

"Wow..." Sun Yang clicked his tongue in awe. "Captain, that’s quite a move."

"Quite a move?" Li Chang’an raised an eyebrow. "It’s called giving him a taste of his own medicine. If Zhou Yuanshan wants to scheme against us, he has to suffer the consequences of his own actions."

"But Zhou Ze is innocent, right?" Liu Na still felt a bit hesitant.

"Don’t worry, Sister Liu Na," Li Chang’an reassured her. "It’s just a temporary measure. Once we deal with Zhou Yuanshan, we’ll help Zhou Ze restore his original memories."

"Alright..." Liu Na nodded reluctantly, her brows still knitted.

"Captain, where are we going to find this psychologist?" Shen Qiuyue asked, hitting on the crucial point.

"Leave that to me," Li Chang’an said, patting his chest confidently. "I know an old friend who’s an expert in this field."

"That’s good." Shen Qiuyue breathed a sigh of relief.

"There’s no time to lose. Let’s split up." Li Chang’an stood up and swept his gaze over the team. "I’ll go contact the psychologist. The rest of you, keep a close eye on Zhou Ze. Don’t let anything go wrong."

"Understood!" the team replied in unison.

Li Chang’an left the base and headed straight for the city district. The old friend he was looking for was Chen Mo, a fairly famous psychologist on Lion’s Fang Star who specialized in hypnosis and memory reconstruction. The two had known each other for many years and were on good terms.

Li Chang’an dialed Chen Mo’s communicator and got straight to the point.

"Hypnosis? Planting memories?" Chen Mo’s voice carried a hint of surprise after hearing the request. "Li Chang’an, what are you up to? I’m not doing anything against the Law."

"Chen, what are you thinking?" Li Chang’an grumbled. "I’m trying to save someone."

"Save someone?" Chen Mo was even more confused.

"I’ll explain the details when we meet," Li Chang’an said, unwilling to elaborate over the comms. "Where are you? I’ll come find you."

"I’m at the clinic." Chen Mo gave him the address.

Li Chang’an hung up and hurried to Chen Mo’s clinic. It was located in a high-end office building in the city center. The decor was minimalist yet warm, creating a relaxing atmosphere.

Chen Mo was currently seeing a patient. Seeing Li Chang’an walk in, he gestured for him to wait a moment. Li Chang’an sat down in the waiting area, flipping through a magazine as he waited patiently. About half an hour later, Chen Mo saw his patient out and walked over.

"Li Chang’an, you brat, you wouldn’t visit unless you needed something." Chen Mo smiled and sat across from him. "Tell me, what’s this about?"

Li Chang’an didn’t waste any time. He detailed Zhou Ze’s situation and his own plan.

"You’re saying you want me to hypnotize Zhou Ze and plant fake memories into his head?" Chen Mo frowned after hearing the story. "That’s no small matter."

"I know," Li Chang’an nodded. "But this is our only chance. Chen, please help me out." His tone was sincere. "Once this is over, you’ll be well compensated."

Chen Mo fell silent for a moment, as if weighing his options.

"Li Chang’an, you know I hate trouble more than anything," Chen Mo began slowly. "But since you asked, I’ll help you out this once."

"Thanks, Chen!" Li Chang’an stood up excitedly and shook his hand.

"Don’t thank me yet. I never said I was doing this for free." Chen Mo chuckled, a sly gleam in his eye. "You still have to pay the consultation fee."

"No problem!" Li Chang’an agreed readily.

"When do we start?" Chen Mo asked.

"The sooner the better," Li Chang’an said. "That old fox Zhou Yuanshan could make a move at any moment."

"Alright, bring him over, then." Chen Mo nodded. "I’ll go prepare."

"Will do," Li Chang’an replied.

After hashing out the details, Li Chang’an left the clinic. He returned to the base and "invited" Zhou Ze out of the medical bay.

"Captain Li, where are we going?" Zhou Ze looked bewildered, having no idea what was happening.

"I’m taking you for a checkup," Li Chang’an said with a smile. "We’re going to examine your memory and see if we can restore it."

"Examine my memory?" A glimmer of hope flashed in Zhou Ze’s eyes. "Can it really be restored?"

"Let’s give it a try," Li Chang’an said vaguely. "Who knows, there might be a miracle."

Taking his word for it, Zhou Ze obediently followed Li Chang’an into the car. They drove all the way back to Chen Mo’s clinic.

"Zhou Ze, this is Dr. Chen, a hypnosis expert," Li Chang’an introduced. "He’ll be examining your memory."

"Hello, Dr. Chen," Zhou Ze greeted him politely.

"Hello." Dr. Chen smiled faintly, a meaningful glint in his eyes. He looked Zhou Ze up and down, silently evaluating him.

"Zhou Ze, relax. Don’t be nervous." Dr. Chen’s tone was gentle and soothing. "I’m going to use hypnosis to help you recall some things."

"Hypnosis?" Zhou Ze sounded a bit uneasy. "Will it hurt?"

"Not at all." Dr. Chen smiled. "It’ll just be like taking a nap. It’s very comfortable."

"Oh..." Zhou Ze nodded, only half-understanding.
