The table fell completely silent for three seconds. Then...

Ning Shoukai and Xie Jingguo immediately burst into roaring, uncontrollable laughter, slapping their knees. The others looked completely speechless, caught between amusement and bewilderment.

"That actually sounds about right," Xie Yanlin agreed, nodding in approval.

"Why on earth didn’t you just climb it and take the next floor?" Xie Yanlin asked, utterly bewildered by her choice.

"Because..." Bai Xifeng lowered her voice to a conspiratorial whisper.

Everyone instinctively leaned closer to the centre of the table to hear.

"The residual spiritual energy on that floor suddenly became extremely, unbelievably dense after the enemies died." Bai Xifeng said in a low voice.

The group’s eyes immediately widened in surprise.

"Oh?" Xie Lanying looked deeply intrigued.

The others appeared equally fascinated by the revelation.

"Yeah." Bai Xifeng nodded right along. "So, I quickly summoned all of my contracted beasts out of the portal and let them sit around and absorb the pure spiritual energy instead."

The table instantly fell into a stunned silence.

Then, Ning Shoukai nodded his head in deep approval. "That’s actually incredibly smart of you."

"Exactly." Xie Yanlin agreed wholeheartedly. "If you did not let them absorb it right then and there, it would have been a complete and total waste of rare resources. Even I will do the same."

Bai Xifeng suddenly let out a massive, dramatic sigh, slumping forward. "That’s exactly why I deeply regret only exchanging for eight hours of cultivation time today."
