Chapter 1059: Chapter 1059: One More Strike Remains
His elegant, pristine white body glided gracefully and silently across the blood-stained battlefield. Every single movement he made was perfectly calm and calculated. Every attack was brutally precise.
Whenever his massive tail swept through the air, several experts were instantly sliced into neat pieces by invisible, razor-sharp spiritual blades of compressed wind.
Whenever his cold, piercing golden gaze landed upon someone, that unfortunate person was already dead before their brain could even realise what had happened to their body. His beautiful white scales remained entirely spotless and unstained by blood from the beginning of the skirmish to the very end.
"What an absolute waste of perfectly good meat." Tao-chan commented grumpily after swallowing another elder. "You are killing them too fast and ruining the presentation. That’s perfectly good food you are shredding."
"I have absolutely no interest in consuming humans." Baishe did not even spare the glutton a single glance as he bypassed a corpse.
"Tsk... such a tragedy and a waste." Tao-chan grumbled.
Seeing so many fresh, high-level corpses lying abandoned on the bloody ground, Tao-chan happily wandered over and began vacuuming those up as well. He had absolutely no intention whatsoever of wasting perfectly edible, high-energy spiritual food.
The remaining survival vanguard of the alliance was completely, thoroughly horrified.
"I-I don’t want to die like this!"
"I am leaving! I’m leaving right now!"
"Forget the damn Beast King!"
"Whoever still wants to commit suicide for a cub can stay! I am absolutely done!"
Their collective courage completely and utterly collapsed into dust. One after another, the surviving experts turned right around and fled toward the academy gates as quickly as their techniques could carry them, completely abandoning all thoughts of obtaining the Beast King.
"Hey!" Heishe shouted loudly after their retreating figures, his voice booming over the hills. "Why are you cowards running away so soon? Come back here! I still have not eaten nearly enough to satisfy my hunger!"
"That’s right!" Tao-chan complained loudly, his mouth still half-full of armour pieces. "I am still incredibly hungry over here!"
The two massive Divine Beasts watched the fleeing humans disappear over the horizon with obvious, profound dissatisfaction. To them, their lunch had just run away.
Principal Qiao Wenhao and the remaining academy teachers stood entirely rooted to the spot, completely unable to utter a single syllable. The final outcome playing out before their eyes had completely and thoroughly exceeded everything they could have ever imagined in their wildest dreams.
The terrifying alliance of experts who had nearly destroyed the school’s ancient protective formations... the very same experts who had forced all of Tianlong School into a desperate, bloody lockdown... had actually fled in absolute, weeping terror.
Not because of a stronger rival sect. Not because of a legendary human master or ancestor. But because three ancient Divine Beasts had frightened them so profoundly that they no longer dared to remain within a hundred miles of the campus.
Qiao Wenhao swallowed hard, wanting to step forward to express his formal gratitude to the three powerful entities. However, after witnessing Tao-chan happily and cheerfully chewing on living, screaming cultivators only moments earlier, the Principal wisely decided to remain exactly where he was. He was genuinely worried that one wrong, sudden movement might cause the eccentric Taotie to misunderstand his intentions and mistake him for another tasty invader.
Not long after that, another late-arriving group of outside experts finally managed to reach the coordinates. Unfortunately for them, they had absolutely no idea what had just transpired over the last hour. Thinking they had arrived at the absolute perfect time to reap the rewards, they immediately rushed blindly toward the Inscriber Division.
The exact millisecond they stepped into the clearing, three overwhelming, suffocating Divine Beast auras descended upon them simultaneously like a physical hammer. Before their minds could even begin to process the sheer anomaly of the situation, Heishe and Tao-chan had already charged forward with absolute glee. This time, neither of them showed the slightest intention of playing around or warning their prey.
The battle ended almost as soon as it had begun. The newly arrived experts were completely slaughtered with overwhelming, one-sided force before they even had the tactical chance to organise a defensive line. Afterwards, Heishe and Tao-chan happily sat down together and enjoyed another highly satisfying, heavy meal.
Back inside the Inscriber Division,
The little tiger, Baihu, was still undergoing his agonising breakthrough. By now, the heavy heavenly tribulation lightning had already struck his small body a total of forty-nine terrifying times. His once pristine, snow-white fur had become scorched black and matted in several severe places, yet the volatile, raw lightning aura surrounding his tiny frame had grown increasingly blindingly powerful with every passing second.
"Only one more strike remains." Ji Yuan stated calmly, his dark eyes looking steadily up toward the swirling vortex in the sky.
"Really?" Bai Xifeng’s eyes immediately lit up with a surge of desperate hope.
She had watched Baihu endure forty-nine terrifying, world-splitting lightning strikes with her own eyes, her heart twisting in her chest. Every single strike had made the little tiger tremble and writhe in absolute agony. More than once, her instincts had screamed at her, and she had nearly rushed forward blindly into the clearing to shield his tiny body with her own runes.
However, Ji Yuan had firmly held her back every single time. If she foolishly interfered with the natural flow of the heavenly tribulation, Baihu might permanently lose the golden opportunity to awaken the true, primordial inheritance and absolute power belonging to the Beast King line. No matter how incredibly painful it was for her to watch him suffer, she could only stand by and endure the weight of the moment together with him.
