Chapter 1073: Chapter 1073: Try To Report Bai Xifeng For Misconduct

"Hmm..." Ji Yuan responded calmly, not looking up from his book immediately. Then his sharp gaze swept over Bai Xifeng from head to toe, taking in her dishevelled hair and sweat-stained clothes, before he asked, "What exactly were you doing inside that room all night?"

"Oh... I was just practising my Armament Master skills." Bai Xifeng grinned sheepishly, rubbing the back of her neck.

"I see." Ji Yuan nodded slightly, accepting the explanation. "By the way, Principal Qiao wants every single student to gather at the central plaza this evening. It seems he fully intends to explain to all the students exactly what happened over the past three chaotic days."

"How exactly do you think Principal Qiao will explain everything to the curious students?" Bai Xifeng asked, tilting her head with immense curiosity.

"He will probably tell them the absolute truth. At least, as far as he currently knows it to be." Ji Yuan replied in his usual calm manner.

"Do you really think the students will blindly believe his story?" Bai Xifeng asked again, a smirk playing on her lips.

"Well, under normal circumstances, they have absolutely no reason not to believe Principal Qiao’s official word." Ji Yuan answered calmly. He paused briefly, a tiny glint of amusement flashing in his dark eyes, before adding, "However... if those students happen to know your chaotic personality well enough, they might immediately begin to deeply doubt Principal Qiao’s version of the story."

Bai Xifeng scratched her cheek awkwardly, a guilty flush hitting her face before she laughed helplessly at the callout.

"Hmm... yeah, you are probably entirely right about that." Bai Xifeng admitted honestly with a nod of her head.

.....

Bai Xifeng walked lazily out of her division and slowly headed towards the central plaza. By the time she finally arrived at the location, a massive crowd of students had already gathered across the stones. The plaza was much livelier and noisier than usual, absolutely packed to the brim with students chatting excitedly among themselves while anxiously waiting for the principal to arrive.

Not wanting to attract any unnecessary attention or be bothered by anyone, Bai Xifeng quietly walked over to a secluded corner of the plaza and casually sat down on a stone bench.

Because she had stayed up the entire night painstakingly practising her Armament Master skills and hammering metal, she was already extremely, deeply sleepy. Her eyelids felt incredibly heavy like lead weights, and she could barely suppress one massive yawn after another. Since Principal Qiao Wenhao had not officially arrived on the stage yet, she fully planned to take a quick, short nap right there to recharge her batteries while waiting.

However, before she could completely and comfortably drift off into dreamland, someone suddenly poked her shoulder rather forcefully, ruining her peace.

Bai Xifeng slowly and reluctantly forced her sleepy eyes open, glaring slightly at the unwanted person standing directly before her. It was Mo Jiao, closely accompanied by several arrogant-looking girls whom Bai Xifeng neither recognised nor had the slightest intention of ever getting to know.

"What do you want?" Bai Xifeng asked with a slight frown, her tone clearly annoyed that someone had dared to disturb her precious, golden chance to sleep.

"You! You’d better tell me exactly what happened inside your division over the past three days." Mo Jiao demanded arrogantly, crossing her arms and looking down her nose.

"Huh?" Bai Xifeng raised a single eyebrow in utter confusion.

"My grandfather explicitly said that something major and dangerous happened inside your division. Since you are currently a student from the Inscriber Division, you should know exactly what happened in there, right? Spill it." Mo Jiao stated confidently, assuming she would get an immediate answer.

"And what exactly does that have to do with you?" Bai Xifeng asked calmly, her voice entirely flat.

"Hey, you should just shut up and tell us what we want to know. Otherwise, Director Mo might just officially expel you from the school entirely." One of Mo Jiao’s friends stepped forward, looking down at the seated Bai Xifeng with a thoroughly smug, threatening expression.

"Oh..." Bai Xifeng blinked in genuine surprise, tilting her head. "Expel me? Wow. I honestly did not know your grandfather was powerful enough to just blindly expel students whenever he pleases."

"Of course he is!" Mo Jiao snorted proudly, lifting her chin high into the air.

"Oh..." Bai Xifeng nodded thoughtfully, a lazy look on her face before she casually and smoothly continued, "But if I remember the school charter correctly, expelling a student is strictly the principal’s sole authority, not a director’s."

"A director can absolutely do it too if a student is officially proven guilty of severe misconduct!" Mo Jiao immediately argued back, her face flushing slightly.

"I see." Bai Xifeng slowly crossed her own arms before a faint, highly amused smile broke out across her face. "Then let me ask you something, since you are the expert here."

"What?" Mo Jiao still did not understand what Bai Xifeng meant by that.

"What exactly is my specific misconduct? I really want to know about that." Bai Xifeng asked while smiling.

"That... That... You are..." Mo Jiao opened her mouth wide to snap back, only to suddenly realise she had absolutely no logical answer prepared.

Bai Xifeng chuckled softly at her blank expression, leaning back against the bench.

"Oh... don’t tell me my grand misconduct was wearing men’s clothes previously and accidentally making you think I was a man?" Bai Xifeng asked teasingly, her eyes flashing with mischief. "Or perhaps it was because I did not step in to save you before during your quest, even though I had absolutely zero legal obligation to protect your life?"
