Chapter 1074: Chapter 1074: Fell Asleep When People Argued On Her Behalf
Bai Xifeng paused briefly, letting the crowd absorb her words, before adding with another sweet, innocent smile, "Or is it simply because I flatly refuse to tell you what happened inside my private division during the past three days?"
Mo Jiao and her group of friends immediately became completely speechless, their faces twisting in embarrassment. By now, several nearby students had already stopped their own conversations and were intently watching the entire confrontation unfold with great interest. One student in the crowd could not help but speak up loudly.
"Yeah... what exactly is Student Bai’s misconduct supposed to be?"
"I also want to know. She is just sitting there."
"Don’t tell me Mo Jiao is really throwing a tantrum because of one of those petty reasons."
"I don’t think it’s a surprise." Another student shook his head, whispering to his friend. "Mo Jiao is probably just deeply jealous of Bai Xifeng’s talent and wants to maliciously use her grandfather’s administrative authority to bully her into submission."
"Hey, do all of you remember Su Chichi from last term?" Another student suddenly asked the surrounding group.
"Yeah... That incredibly beautiful girl from the martial division?"
"Hmm..." The student nodded firmly. "I heard Su Chichi was incredibly talented. Mo Jiao became terrified that she would outshine her in the rankings, so she framed Student Su for a major theft she did not commit. In the end, Student Su was unfairly expelled from the academy."
"Fortunately, a powerful expert recognised her true talent afterwards and accepted her as a direct disciple. Otherwise, her future as a cultivator would have been completely ruined by this family."
Another student immediately continued the gossip, pointing toward the stage. "She probably wants to use the exact same old underhanded trick again today, framing Student Bai out of nowhere and getting her expelled too."
The surrounding students immediately began whispering frantically among themselves, casting dark, disgusted looks at the girls. Mo Jiao’s face instantly turned a deathly, mortified shade of pale.
"No! I never did something like that! You are lying!" Mo Jiao shouted loudly at the top of her lungs, desperately trying to deny the public accusations.
Unfortunately for her reputation, almost no one in the plaza believed a single word coming out of her mouth anymore. Some students even looked at her with obvious suspicion and open disdain. Mo Jiao clenched her fists so incredibly tightly that her sharp nails dug deep into her palms. She was so consumed by fury that her entire body trembled slightly on the spot.
Just as everyone in the crowd continued fiercely discussing the scandalous matter, a soft, perfectly rhythmic snoring sound suddenly reached everyone’s ears.
Snore... wheeze...
"Hmm?"
Everyone present instinctively turned their heads toward the source of the sound. There sat Bai Xifeng on the stone bench. Her head had already tilted slightly to one side, resting against the stone wall. She was completely, deeply asleep.
"..."

"..."
The entire bickering group fell into an absolute, dead silence. They had all just been arguing fiercely and passionately on her behalf, ready to throw hands, yet the very person at the absolute centre of the dramatic discussion had somehow managed to fall fast asleep right in the middle of the loud commotion. No one knew whether they should laugh at her audacity or cry at her lack of awareness.
"This..." One student muttered helplessly, scratching his head.
"She is actually completely asleep?"
"How on earth can she even sleep so soundly with so many people shouting right next to her?"
"Student Bai’s mental fortitude is really built differently."
Even Mo Jiao was left entirely speechless, her jaw dropping. She had prepared so many angry words to continue arguing with Bai Xifeng, only to discover that Bai Xifeng had completely and utterly ignored her existence by going to dreamland. The feeling was exactly like punching a giant ball of soft cotton. It was utterly, profoundly infuriating.
At that exact moment, a hush fell over the crowd as Principal Qiao Wenhao finally arrived on the plaza, followed closely by several solemn teachers walking in a line behind him. The noisy plaza immediately quieted down out of respect. Everyone’s attention instantly shifted toward Principal Qiao Wenhao on the stage, and even Mo Jiao temporarily forgot about her rage toward Bai Xifeng.
The students standing near Bai Xifeng noticed that she was still sleeping peacefully through the arrival. Seeing how thoroughly exhausted and drained the young girl looked, none of them had the heart to shake her awake. Instead, they quietly and considerately shifted their physical positions slightly, blocking her from view so the teachers would not notice her resting.
Principal Qiao Wenhao stepped up onto the main stage before slowly, majestically sweeping his serious gaze across the sea of gathered students.
"Hello, everyone. For those who have not formally met me before, I am Qiao Wenhao, the Principal of Tianlong School. Welcome back to Tianlong School. I sincerely hope all of you have been adapting well and truly enjoying your time studying here." Principal Qiao Wenhao stated. He paused briefly, letting his words sink in, before his facial expression became significantly more serious and grave. "As all of you already know, Tianlong School was suddenly placed under a strict, emergency lockdown three days ago."
A massive wave of low murmurs and whispers immediately spread throughout the plaza like wildfire. Principal Qiao Wenhao raised one hand, signalling everyone to quiet down before he continued his speech.
"The core reason for the lockdown was because a legendary Beast King suddenly manifested within our school grounds and began actively undergoing its volatile heavenly breakthrough right inside the Inscriber Division." Principal Qiao Wenhao explained the whole situation to the students.
