The Villainess's Heartthrob Script: I Can Talk to Animals

Chapter 329: Your Family Wants to Harm You

Chapter 329: Chapter 329: Your Family Wants to Harm You

Rhea Dempsey, however, sensed that things weren’t so simple.

She tilted her head to look at Renee Jennings and asked, "Renee, what did you hear?"

Hearing this, Manager Archer was suddenly a bit confused.

’Could Renee Jennings be... mentally challenged?’ she wondered.

But she didn’t look like she had that kind of disability.

Manager Archer was suddenly at a loss for words.

"Manager Archer’s family..." Renee Jennings began, then trailed off.

Rhea Dempsey pressed, "What about them?"

Manager Archer: "..."

She frowned, internally conflicted. ’Should I play along with what Renee Jennings is saying, or should I ask what’s wrong with her?’

Just as Manager Archer was pondering this, Renee Jennings’s clear and gentle voice spoke up.

"Manager Archer, is your name Danielle Archer?"

Hearing this, Danielle Archer asked in surprise, "How do you know that?"

Then, she remembered her name was on her business card.

She laughed. "You saw my business card, didn’t you?"

Renee Jennings didn’t explain, continuing, "You were divorced when you were young and never remarried. You have an older sister named Tina Archer, who has a son."

The smile on Danielle Archer’s face slowly faded. She stared at Renee Jennings in shock. "You... How do you know all this?"

’None of this was on my business card.’

"I just told you," Renee Jennings said with a faint smile. "The little birds told me."

Danielle Archer still found it incredible, unable to believe it. "How can little birds talk?"

"They can talk," Renee Jennings said. "You just can’t understand them."

"Then how can you understand them?"

"Because I’m an animal communicator."

Danielle Archer wasn’t entirely convinced, but a flicker of curiosity made her ask, "So what... did they say?"

Renee Jennings said slowly, "These two little birds flew all the way from your home just to see you."

"Flew here to see me?" Danielle Archer’s face was full of doubt. "Why would they come to see me?"

"Because your family wants to harm you."

Danielle Archer froze, then frowned. "My family wants to harm me? How is that possible? I don’t even have a husband."

She’d seen stories online about husbands murdering their wives and had even felt a pang of relief that she didn’t have one.

"You may not have a husband, but you have a sister," Renee Jennings said.

Danielle Archer’s frown deepened, the idea seeming utterly absurd. "Are you saying my sister wants to harm me?"

"That’s what I heard," Renee Jennings said slowly. "Your sister, Tina Archer, has a son who’s gotten a girlfriend, and they’re planning to get married."

Danielle Archer’s heart skipped a beat. This was getting stranger by the second.

’Did the little birds really tell her this?’

Rhea Dempsey stared at her daughter, her expression serious and her mind filled with curiosity.

’What kind of story is this with Danielle Archer’s family?’

’And it’s a real-life drama happening right in front of me.’

When Danielle Archer said nothing, Renee Jennings continued, "Your sister’s son is getting married, and she wanted to buy a house for him, so she borrowed money from you, right?"

"Yes," Danielle Archer nodded, unable to stop herself from asking, "Did the birds really tell you all this?"

Renee Jennings raised an eyebrow, a wry smile playing on her lips. "What do you think? Where else could I have found this out? I didn’t even know you before today."

"That’s true." Mentioning her sister Tina Archer’s family, Danielle Archer couldn’t help but sigh. "All in all, my sister has borrowed 800,000 from me."

That didn’t even include the smaller transfers, which would add up to a considerable sum if she calculated them carefully.

Renee Jennings stated calmly, "Most recently, she asked to borrow 200,000, and you refused."

"Yes," Danielle Archer said with a sense of helplessness. "I just run this small business; I don’t make that much in a year. The money I’ve lent her is all the savings I’ve painstakingly scraped together over the years."

"I’ve lent them so much money, and they’ve never paid a single cent back." Danielle Archer’s heart ached at the thought.

Rhea Dempsey grew indignant. "How shameless! That’s not borrowing, that’s just demanding money! It’s not like you print your own cash, where are you supposed to get all that money for them?"

"I know, right?" Danielle Archer looked at Rhea Dempsey as if she had found a kindred spirit. "All these years, I’ve helped as much as I could, but I have my own life to live. I really can’t afford to help anymore. The economy is bad, my company’s profits are dwindling, and I’m all alone. I have to save some money for my own retirement."

Renee Jennings said, "You can no longer afford to help, but they think you’re simply unwilling."

"People’s greed is like a snake trying to swallow an elephant." Rhea Dempsey shook her head and sighed. "They’ll never remember all the times you’ve helped them, but they’ll hold a grudge for a lifetime over the one time you refuse. A small kindness earns you gratitude, but a big one breeds resentment."

Danielle Archer was a bit taken aback by this. "Holding a grudge seems a bit much. They might be upset for a few days, but they’ll get over it."

"No," Renee Jennings said, her tone firm. "They won’t."

As Danielle Archer met Renee’s clear eyes, a sudden, ominous feeling washed over her.

"They won’t...? How could they not..."

Renee Jennings’s expression was calm. "Have you forgotten what I told you? Your family wants to harm you."

Danielle Archer pressed her lips together, a sudden chill running down her spine.

"You can’t be saying..." Her voice trembled. "That my sister wants to harm me?"

Renee Jennings replied, "Her entire family wants to harm you."

"But..." Danielle Archer’s eyes instantly welled up. "You’re not joking, are you?"

Renee Jennings’s gaze sharpened, and her tone was grave. "I am completely serious."

"All because I wouldn’t lend them that 200,000?" Danielle Archer’s voice was thick with emotion.

Renee Jennings said, "Your nephew has been gambling. He lost big, and the loan sharks he borrowed from are already coming to collect their debts."

"He took money from loan sharks to gamble?" Danielle Archer’s brows furrowed in anger. "He’s gambled before, and I paid off his debts for him. He knelt in front of me and swore he’d never do it again."

"Oh, really?" Renee Jennings gave a short, scornful laugh. "The loan sharks have already chopped off one of his fingers. If he doesn’t pay them back, he might lose his life."

"What?" Danielle Archer cried out, agitated. "They chopped off his finger?"

"So what if they did?" Rhea Dempsey said with disgust. "He’s planning to harm you for money, and you’re worried about his finger?"

Danielle Archer: "..."

’Rhea Dempsey was right. That wasn’t her problem.’

Danielle Archer looked at Renee Jennings anxiously. "How... How are they planning to harm me?"

"They’re likely planning on causing a gas leak," Renee Jennings said quietly. "Do they have a key to your place?"

"Yes." Danielle Archer nodded, explaining, "I live alone, so they have a key and can come and go as they please."

Renee Jennings raised an eyebrow. "In that case, you should call a technician to your house right now and have them check if your gas line has been tampered with."

"Okay." Danielle Archer shot to her feet. "I’m going home right now."

Renee Jennings and Rhea Dempsey also left Danielle Archer’s company, taking the two small birds with them.

The magpie twittered in delight, "CHIRP! CHIRP! Does this mean that Danielle Archer won’t die now?"

"That’s right," Renee Jennings said with a grin. "You two saved her life. What would you like as a reward?"
