Chapter 351: Chapter 351: It’s About My Daughter’s Innocence
Glenn Zane said nervously, "I don’t have any requirements. Just having a salary is fine."
Renee Jennings looked at her and was suddenly reminded of Edith Zane.
She smiled. "No need to be nervous."
"I... I can’t help it." Glenn Zane gave an embarrassed smile.
"So, how many days off would you like a month?" Renee Jennings asked. "Four, six, or eight?"
Glenn Zane quickly shook her head, waving her hands. "No, no, I don’t need any rest. I can work all the time. Don’t you worry, I promise I won’t be lazy."
"How could you not need rest?" Renee Jennings said helplessly. "How about this? We’ll schedule four fixed days off each month. If you don’t want to take that many days off, you can exchange them for pay."
"Okay." Glenn Zane nodded vigorously, asking excitedly, "So does that mean I can start working today?"
Renee Jennings looked amused. "I haven’t even told you the salary yet. Aren’t you afraid I’ll deliberately lowball you?"
"I’m not afraid. You seem like a good person to me." After saying this, Glenn Zane lowered her head and smiled, feeling a bit sheepish.
Renee Jennings glanced at Danielle Archer. "What’s the agency’s commission?"
Danielle Archer explained, "Our housekeeping agency takes a twenty percent commission for the first month."
"Okay." Renee Jennings nodded. "The salary will be seven thousand a month for the first three months of the probationary period. After that, it’ll be eight thousand."
Glenn Zane’s eyes went wide. She stared at her in disbelief. "Miss, are you saying you’ll pay me seven thousand a month?"
"That’s right," Renee Jennings reminded her. "But you’ll need to give twenty percent of your first month’s salary to the agency, which is one thousand four hundred."
"That’s fine," Glenn Zane nodded quickly. "I accept! Oh my gosh, I never thought I could earn so much money in a month."
Renee Jennings’s lips curved into a smile. "Then I’ll call you Ms. Zane from now on."
"No, no," Glenn Zane said, waving her hands. "Just call me Zane. You’re the one paying me, how could I let you call me Ms. Zane? That wouldn’t be right."
"Alright, Zane it is." Renee Jennings asked, "Can you start today?"
"I can start working right away."
"Do you have a medical report or health certificate?" Renee Jennings asked Danielle Archer.
"Yes," Danielle Archer said. "We only recommend them to clients after we’ve reviewed them and confirmed there are no issues."
"Then that’s settled." Renee Jennings said with a smile. "Let’s sign the contract."
As she was about to sign, she suddenly remembered something. "Zane, do you know how to cook?"
"I do!" Glenn Zane said quickly. "I used to work in a restaurant back in my county."
"Good."
After signing the contract, Renee Jennings left the housekeeping agency with Glenn Zane.
As the car drove into Eastgate Villa, Glenn Zane saw the buildings outside the window, her face a mask of shock. "Miss, is this your home? It’s beautiful!"
"I think it’s beautiful, too." Renee Jennings parked the car and helped open the door for her. "Zane, let’s get out. I’ll introduce you to my family."
At this time of day, only Rhea Dempsey and the two children were home.
Lyris Garden Kindergarten had already announced an early start to summer vacation and had issued full tuition refunds.
Renee Jennings had already given her a heads-up, so Rhea Dempsey wasn’t the least bit surprised to see someone new with her.
Glenn Zane stood on the rug, her hands clutching the fabric of her pants, her back ramrod straight.
"Zane, this is my mom, Rhea Dempsey," Renee Jennings said softly. "Mom, this is Glenn Zane. You can just call her Zane."
Glenn Zane looked at Rhea Dempsey and swallowed nervously. "Ma’am... hello, I’m Zane."
"Hello there." Rhea Dempsey gave a friendly smile and called the two little ones over to greet her. "Zane, Jasmine, say hello to Auntie Zane."
Zane and Jasmine said in unison, "Hello, Auntie Zane."
"Hello, hello to you too!" Glenn Zane was both surprised and flattered.
Renee Jennings introduced them, "These two are my sister’s children. The boy is Zane, and the girl is Jasmine. My sister and my dad are still at work; they’ll be back later."
"Okay, okay, I understand." Glenn Zane nodded emphatically.
Renee Jennings smiled. "I’ll let my mom explain everything else to you."
She looked at Rhea Dempsey and raised her eyebrows. "Ms. Dempsey, she’s all yours."
Rhea Dempsey also smiled brightly. "Then I’ll leave these two little ones to you."
"No problem." Renee Jennings extended her hands to the two children. "Zane, Jasmine, Auntie is going to take you to play with the furry kids."
"Yay!"
"Let’s play frisbee!"

At ten o’clock that night, Renee Jennings started her livestream from the study.
She had last streamed on Thursday, and today was Tuesday. She felt like she was streaming quite frequently, but some viewers still complained that she was taking too long between streams.
’What’s up with the system lately? Why has it been so quiet?’
Just as Renee Jennings was thinking this, a familiar voice echoed in her mind.
[System 009: New Level 3 mission triggered: Pacify The Snake King. Mission rewards: 100 points; 1,000,000 Cash.]
Renee Jennings raised her eyebrows slightly, feeling as if she had come back to life.
A smile played on her lips as she said cheerfully, "Good evening, everyone. We’ve already hit ten thousand viewers in the stream, so let’s connect with our first audience member now."
[Please, please, can I get picked this time?]
[I really have something I need the host’s help with!]
[Ahhh, it’s not me!]
The viewer "Fallon" successfully connected. A middle-aged woman with shoulder-length hair appeared on the split screen.
"Hello, host." Fallon waved at the camera.
Renee Jennings waved back and smiled. "Hello, Fallon. Do you need my help with something?"
"Yes." Fallon nodded. "My family is here with me."
She flipped the camera and began introducing them one by one. "This is my husband, this is my mother-in-law and father-in-law, and this is my sister-in-law."
The view shifted, and two children, around seven or eight years old, appeared on camera.
"These two children—the girl is my daughter, Joy, and the boy is my sister-in-law’s son, Momo."
[What’s going on? Why is she introducing her whole family?]
[Can you just get to the point? Honestly, I don’t really care to meet your family.]
Fallon saw the comments in the live chat and explained, "I’m introducing them because this matter concerns my family."
Her camera wobbled again, this time pointing at a snow-white Samoyed. "This is our family dog, Dumpling."
[Wow, what a cute dog!]
[Hurry up and get to the story, my gossip-loving heart can’t wait.]
Fallon’s expression turned grave, her tone serious. "This is about my daughter’s reputation."
[Whoa! What’s the deal?]
[Reputation... is it that serious?]
"As a mother, I believe this is extremely serious," Fallon said. "My family of three, my sister-in-law’s family of three, and my in-laws all live together."
[Three families living together? That must be a total mess...]
[Isn’t it inconvenient with so many people under one roof?]
A disgruntled mumble was heard from Fallon’s side. "Your wife is being so dramatic. You should keep her in check."
Hearing this, Fallon shot a sideways glare in that direction.
[That’s a killer look!]
[If looks could kill! Who do you want to murder?]
[Who was that talking?]
"My sister-in-law," Fallon said, her tone hostile. "This whole thing has to do with her son, too."
