The Villainess's Heartthrob Script: I Can Talk to Animals

Chapter 397: I Just Heard Auntie Call You Husband

Chapter 397: Chapter 397: I Just Heard Auntie Call You Husband

The audience roared with laughter at the two male lions.

[HAHAHA, have they resorted to arguing with their butts now?]

[They’re hilarious!]

[You two bicker all day but can’t bear to lay a finger on each other. I’m shipping this pairing, you have my respect!]

[This pairing is so weird, hahaha.]

Renee Jennings never expected some viewers would want to ship Thunderbolt and Blaze.

She blinked and commented, "It is a little weird."

Thunderbolt and Blaze lay sprawled in front of Renee Jennings, butt to butt, looking lazy and content.

’Where’s the animosity of mortal enemies?’

’I guess this pairing isn’t entirely unshippable.’

Renee Jennings glanced at the viewer count in the top-right corner. 150,000 people were watching live, a faster increase than any of her previous streams.

She panned the camera, hoping to chat with Thunderbolt’s three "wives," but found they had already run off.

"Dani and the others went to play in the water, so let’s start a call-in."

[Host, call Marmalade!]

[Renee, hurry and call Marmalade!!!]

[Marmalade! Marmalade!]

Renee Jennings looked away from the lions and saw the bullet comments were all about Marmalade.

She remembered Marmalade. Her father had brought Number Three home, causing her mother to faint from anger. He didn’t take her to the hospital in time, which led to her tragic death.

[Renee, did you see? Call Marmalade!]

[Call Marmalade!]

"Call Marmalade," Renee Jennings said in a serious tone. "I see. I’m calling her now."

She did something on her phone, and the screen instantly split in two.

On the split screen, Marmalade was wearing a white baseball cap with a white mask hanging from her chin. She raised a hand in greeting. "Hi, host. Hello, brothers and sisters in the stream. Thanks for your concern."

She had only sent two bullet comments earlier, but the viewers had immediately started spamming the chat, telling Renee Jennings to call Marmalade.

Renee Jennings switched the camera back to herself and asked gently, "Marmalade, hello. Has everything at home been taken care of?"

"Almost," Marmalade said. "I’ve already secured some evidence, and now I’m gathering proof of Bruno Lawson’s affair."

She and her friends were at a mall right now. Bruno Lawson was in a jewelry store with Joan Lowe.

She and one friend were filming from a distance, while another friend was following Bruno Lawson and Joan Lowe, recording their conversation up close.

While this part couldn’t be used as evidence to sue Bruno Lawson, it could show everyone just how shameless he was.

Marmalade’s friend next to her saw a message from the friend inside the jewelry store and said, "Those two are talking about getting married."

"He’s getting married?" Marmalade gave a scornful laugh. "How long has it been since my mom passed? Is he that desperate?"

[Getting married??? My god, his wife only passed away a month ago...]

[If he wanted to get married, why didn’t he agree when Marmalade’s Mom asked for a divorce in the first place?]

[Simple. He didn’t want to be left with nothing after the divorce.]

[Don’t forget, Number Three is already pregnant.]

Marmalade’s eyes reddened with anger again.

She felt so useless. She had been crying from anger for the past few days.

She wiped her tears and said with a choke in her voice, "I’ve changed my mind."

"What?" her friend asked.

"I’m calling my uncles over right now." Marmalade announced to the stream, switched to her contacts, and dialed her youngest uncle’s number. "Uncle, I need you, First Uncle, and Second Uncle to come to the first floor of Rainbow Mall right now. It’s an emergency!"

After hanging up, she switched back to the livestream and asked, "Host, I’m going to go over and pretend to run into my dad. Do you guys want to see it? If not, I’ll sign off now."

[Yes, yes, yes! I want to watch!]

[Don’t sign off! I love this drama!]

Renee Jennings also replied, "Watch."

"Okay." Marmalade switched to her rear camera, hung the phone on her chest, and marched over menacingly.

Inside the Eterna Jewels counter, Bruno Lawson was watching Joan Lowe try on rings.

"Hubby, do you think this ring looks better on me, or this one?" Joan Lowe held out both hands, her voice artificially sweet. "I love them both so much, what should I do?"

Bruno Lawson chuckled. "If you like them both, then we’ll buy them both."

That was the answer Joan Lowe had been waiting for. She giggled coquettishly. "Thank you, Hubby! I can’t believe I found a man as generous as you!"

The saleswoman, hoping to make a sale, also chimed in with praise. "Ma’am, you’re so lucky to have found a perfect husband."

Bruno Lawson loved the feeling of being flattered. He was just about to speak when he suddenly heard a familiar voice.

"Dad?" Marmalade said, feigning surprise. "It really is you."

Bruno Lawson’s whole body stiffened. His expression shifted, and he slowly turned his head. "J-Jolie?"

He was even more surprised than Marmalade. "You... What are you doing here? It’s a workday, don’t you have to be at your job?"

Joan Lowe, who was beside him, immediately turned her back. Her brows knitted, the smile gone from her face, replaced with a dark scowl.

Marmalade didn’t answer his question. Instead, she asked, "Dad, what are you doing at a jewelry store?"

"N-nothing," Bruno Lawson said unnaturally. "You’re back? Why didn’t you tell me?"

"I wanted to surprise you." Marmalade glimpsed Joan Lowe trying to sneak away behind him and immediately shouted, "Auntie, is that you?"

Joan Lowe’s steps faltered. Her heart trembled, and a cold sweat broke out on her back.

’How does that damn girl have such sharp eyes?’

Bruno Lawson’s heart sank. His eyes flickered as he quickly came up with a plan. He turned sideways, pointed at Joan Lowe, and explained, "I need to buy a gift for a client and didn’t know what to choose, so I asked her to help."

"Oh," Marmalade said with a smile that didn’t reach her eyes. "So you just asked Auntie to help you pick out jewelry."

The saleswoman’s eyes went wide. She couldn’t believe she was witnessing a scene straight out of an internet meme.

’I’ve made it! My first time with a front-row seat to some major drama!’

If she weren’t at work, she would have pulled out her phone to text her best friend immediately.

"What else would it be?" Bruno Lawson thought his daughter believed him and smiled. "Come on, Dad will take you out for a nice meal."

Joan Lowe kept her scowling face and didn’t say a word.

Marmalade’s gaze shifted between him and Joan Lowe. The smile vanished from her lips as she said coldly, "Is that all?"

"What are you talking about?" Bruno Lawson asked, confused.

"Dad," Marmalade repeated silently in her head, ’This is the last time I’ll ever call you that.’ "Are you really just having Auntie help you pick out jewelry for a client?"

Bruno Lawson’s gaze darkened. He frowned and asked, "What else would it be?"

"But I just heard Auntie call you ’Hubby’!" Marmalade demanded. "Are you her husband? Do you even know whose husband you are?"

"You heard wrong!" Bruno Lawson explained. "She called me ’Buddy’, not ’Hubby’. Don’t talk nonsense!"

Marmalade: "Then explain this: why was your hand around her waist just now?"

"I wasn’t!" Bruno Lawson retorted in a low voice. "You saw wrong!"

"Oh, really?" Marmalade sneered. "Then I suppose I also saw wrong when she kissed you?"

Bruno Lawson stared at his daughter, his expression changing slightly. He knew she had probably figured it out. His voice held a warning. "Judy, don’t make a scene here!"
