Chapter 466: Chapter 466: The Most Wonderful Girl
"No sugar, no milk." Renee Jennings placed the iced Americano on the table and gestured toward it. "Please, enjoy, Captain Stark."
"Thank you, Consultant Jennings." A slight smile curved Henry Stark’s lips. He picked up the coffee and took a few sips before asking with a smile, "Did you need to see me about something?"
Renee Jennings sat across from him. "Does the department have any cases that need my help in the next couple of days?"
Henry Stark asked, "Are you busy with something?"
"Yes." Renee Jennings nodded, explaining, "I’m planning to go to Crestview Wildlife Park in Lyris. There’s an orangutan there that’s not doing well, and the Breeder asked me for help."
"Lyris?" Henry Stark’s dark brows furrowed slightly. "You’re going alone? Sawyer is still on leave."
"I can ask a friend to come with me." Renee Jennings knew he was probably worried about her safety and raised an eyebrow. "I can handle myself. You don’t need to worry."
Henry Stark was still worried. After all, Lyris was too far from Zenvia. If something happened, he wouldn’t be able to get there in time.
"My main concern is that criminals might target you."
After all, Renee Jennings possessed a power that everyone envied.
Hearing this, Renee Jennings nodded seriously. "In that case, I’ll talk to the zoo again and see if we can solve this remotely..."
Henry Stark didn’t want to interfere with her normal life, either. He mused, "There are three of them. Why don’t you pick one to go with you?"
"You mean Kai and the others?" Renee Jennings asked.
Henry Stark nodded. "Yes."
"Won’t that interfere with the team’s work?"
"Protecting you is part of our job, too."
Renee Jennings raised her eyebrows slightly and joked, "So I’ve become a protected species now."
"That’s right." A hint of a smile touched Henry Stark’s eyes. "Have you chosen?"
Renee Jennings thought for a moment. "How about Zachary? I think he’s a bit more familiar with my friend, so the trip shouldn’t be boring."
"Alright." Henry Stark used the intercom to call Zachary Conway to his office.
Upon learning that he had been chosen by Renee Jennings to go to Lyris Crestview Wildlife Park, Zachary Conway was instantly filled with honor and excitement.
’A business trip! I love business trips!’
Zachary Conway saluted and said solemnly, "Don’t worry, Chief. I will ensure Consultant Jennings’s safety!"
"Good." Henry Stark looked at Renee Jennings. "When are you planning to leave?"
Renee Jennings replied, "Tomorrow morning, then. Zachary, send me your ID number, and I’ll book the plane tickets."
"You got it!" Zachary Conway replied cheerfully.
The two of them left Henry Stark’s office together. Back at her desk, Renee Jennings saw that Sawyer had replied on WeChat.
It turned out her mother was sick and needed surgery.
Although Sawyer hadn’t specified what kind of surgery, she needed to take a week off to be there, so it probably wasn’t a minor procedure.
Renee Jennings hesitated for a moment, then transferred 100,000 to her with a message: "I hope your mom gets well soon."
Sawyer immediately returned the money. "Renee, I’m really touched by your kindness, but I can’t accept this."
Renee Jennings replied: "If you consider me a friend, you’ll accept it. It’s just a small gesture, friend to friend."
Sawyer’s salary wasn’t low, but in a high-cost city like Zenvia where every inch of land was worth gold, it was truly difficult to save money.
Moreover, out of guilt for losing her younger sister, she sent money home every month.
Renee Jennings transferred the hundred thousand again, this time with another message: "Sawyer, do you have a photo of Sweetie? I think pinning it to my profile might be more effective."
Sawyer quickly sent a blurry, yellowed old photograph. "This is the only one. Our family wasn’t well-off back then, so we didn’t have many chances to take pictures. A neighbor took this one and gave it to us. The one being held is Sweetie, and I’m standing next to her."
In the photo, Sawyer was very young, and Sweetie was even younger, held in an adult’s arms. The two sisters wore padded jackets with the same floral pattern, their features somewhat blurry.
Sawyer: "I was so careless back then. I didn’t take good care of the photo."
Renee Jennings comforted her: "I’ll see if I can find someone to restore it."
Sawyer: "Renee, thank you so much! I’m so glad to know you! You’re the most wonderful girl I’ve ever met! /heart"
Reading the message, Renee Jennings’s heart was stirred, and she couldn’t calm down for a long time.
’Am I... succeeding?’
’Instead of becoming the villainess who dies a tragic death, I can be praised as a wonderful girl.’
Renee Jennings stared at her phone, a silly smile spreading across her face as the corners of her lips turned up.
A moment later, she glanced around, worried someone might have seen her goofy grin.
Seeing that no one had noticed, she relaxed and sent another WeChat message urging Sawyer to accept her gift. Little did she know that Kyle Morgan had just started a small group chat to gossip—
Kyle Morgan: Why is our Consultant Jennings staring at her phone with a silly grin?
Levi Hollis: Is she in love?
Zachary Conway: With who?
Levi Hollis: How should I know?
Kyle Morgan: You go ask.
Levi Hollis: No way, that’s so rude.
Zachary Conway: And gossiping behind her back is polite? You two are shameless.
Kyle Morgan: ?
Levi Hollis: ??
Kyle Morgan: Don’t think you’re so great just because you’re going on a business trip with Renee Jennings.
Levi Hollis: I’d advise you to play nice. You can’t take the two of us at once.
Zachary Conway has left the group chat.
Kyle Morgan and Levi Hollis simultaneously looked up, trying to kill Zachary Conway, the traitor, with their glares.

The next morning, sunlight streamed through the massive floor-to-ceiling windows of the airport as Renee Jennings, Michelle Fuller, and Zachary Conway walked toward their boarding gate.
After a flight of over three hours, the trio landed safely at Lyris Airport.
Hilary had arrived at the airport half an hour early to pick them up, holding a sign with all three of their names written on it.
"Wow, they even put my name on it." Zachary Conway was surprised and took out his phone to snap a picture.
Renee Jennings smiled. "Hilary is very thoughtful."
"Ms. Jennings!" Hilary said excitedly. "Welcome to Crestview Wildlife Park! This is the director of our Lyris Crestview Wildlife Park, Jude Sherman."
"Ms. Jennings, it’s a pleasure to meet you. Thank you for taking the time to visit." Jude Sherman was a middle-aged man. When he smiled, natural crow’s feet appeared at the corners of his eyes beneath his glasses. His black hair was meticulously combed and tied back in a low ponytail.
Renee Jennings gently shook the hand he offered. "Director Sherman, you’re too kind."
After a brief exchange of pleasantries, the group got into a van and left Lyris Airport.
Jude Sherman first took Renee and the others to lunch before heading back to Crestview Wildlife Park.
In the car, Jude Sherman said with a broad smile, "When netizens learned that Ms. Jennings was coming to Crestview, the park’s tickets for the next week sold out completely."
Hearing this, Michelle Fuller blurted out, "Doesn’t that mean your park has made a ton of money these past few days?"
After saying it, she stuck her tongue out, realizing she had spoken her thoughts aloud. "Oops, sorry. Just pretend that didn’t happen..."
She turned and leaned toward Renee Jennings’s ear, looking like she was about to cry, and whispered, "Renee, did I just cause trouble for you?"
"No, you didn’t." Renee Jennings patted her shoulder reassuringly.
Zachary Conway stared at Michelle Fuller without blinking, shouting internally: ’What a genuine girl! So cute!’
