The Villainess's Heartthrob Script: I Can Talk to Animals

Chapter 470: She Just Wants to Earn Your Money

Chapter 470: Chapter 470: She Just Wants to Earn Your Money

"Of course, there’s nothing wrong with protecting your friend." Renee Jennings sized up the girl, her expression impassive. "But are you protecting Sasha right now? You’re clearly harming it."

"Nonsense! I would never harm Sasha! I’m protecting Sasha!" the orange-haired girl said with conviction. "I’m stopping you from hurting it!"

Hearing this, Renee Jennings’s brow furrowed slightly. Not wanting to waste any more time arguing with the girl, she turned to Sasha. "Sasha, can we talk?"

Sasha tilted its head, still thinking about how to answer, when the orange-haired girl cut in excitedly, "No! Sasha would never talk to someone like you!"

Renee Jennings’s expression suddenly darkened. Her eyes narrowed, and her voice turned frigid. "That’s a shame. You have no right to interfere."

Hilary also spoke up sternly. "That’s right. This is an internal matter for our park. We ask that all visitors cooperate."

"No way!" The orange-haired girl rushed forward, spreading her arms to shield Sasha. "I won’t let any of you bully Sasha! It’s a very good, well-behaved orangutan! Don’t you dare slander it!"

Her friend with the ponytail stepped up beside her. "That’s right! As long as we’re here, you can forget about bullying Sasha!"

Michelle Fuller was getting a headache just listening and couldn’t stop herself from rolling her eyes.

’These people are nuts!’

Renee Jennings was rendered speechless by their behavior, but she didn’t want to get bogged down. She glanced at Hilary. "Could you try talking to them?"

Hilary’s face was full of apology. "Ms. Jennings, I’m so sorry to have troubled you."

Renee Jennings thought for a moment, then asked, "Is it okay if we take Bonnie for a little walk?"

At this, Hilary looked a little sheepish. "I’m sorry, Ms. Jennings, but I don’t have the authority to approve that. I’ll need to ask the park director first."

"Okay." Renee Jennings nodded in understanding. "No problem. Go ahead and ask. If it’s not convenient, we’ll just drop it."

"Okay, I’ll call the director right now." Hilary took out her phone and stepped aside to make the call.

After getting the director’s reply, Hilary walked back to Renee Jennings with a smile. "Ms. Jennings, the director said she feels very comfortable leaving Bonnie with you."

"Please thank the director for her trust." A small smile touched Renee Jennings’s lips. "We’ll be in touch by phone later, then."

"Okay, sounds good," Hilary readily agreed.

When Sasha saw Bonnie being led away by the three humans, it wanted to follow them.

Seeing this, the orange-haired girl quickly blocked its path. "Sasha, you can’t go! They’re bad people! They’ll hurt you!"

Sasha said unhappily, "Stay out of it! I want her to give me the same kind of gift she gave Bambi, but even more!"

Seeing this, Hilary and Brother Gus exchanged a look. Brother Gus then walked over to the orange-haired girl and her companion.

"Hello," Brother Gus explained in a gentle tone. "Based on our staff’s observations, it seems Sasha has had a conflict with one of its friends. The park has specially invited an animal consultant to help out. In the meantime, you two are welcome to go see some of the other animals. We’ll welcome you back to the Orangutan Pavilion once we’ve sorted this out."

But the orange-haired girl said resolutely, "Sasha is so wonderful, how could it possibly have a conflict with its friends? That bullshit animal consultant is just making things up! She’s just trying to scam you for your money!"

Hilary frowned and snapped, "You’re the one talking nonsense! I’m the one who asked Ms. Jennings for help, and she hasn’t said a single word about money. She came all the way from Zenvia out of her love for animals, you get it?!"

The orange-haired girl was left speechless by the retort. She opened her mouth, but she didn’t know how to argue back.

"Please stop interfering with our park’s work!" Hilary said with a stern face, her tone now carrying a clear warning. "If you refuse to listen, we’ll have no choice but to ask security to escort you out!"

"What kind of attitude is that?" the orange-haired girl demanded, annoyed. "Are you trying to kick us out?"

Hilary didn’t answer her question. Her voice was flat as she said, "Enjoy the rest of your visit to the park."

She turned to Brother Gus. "Let’s take Sasha to Ms. Jennings."

"Okay," Brother Gus agreed, then gave a brief nod to the orange-haired girl and her friend as a farewell.

The orange-haired girl stared at their retreating backs and shouted, "Sasha, if they bully you, you have to fight back! Don’t let them push you around!"

Cradled in Brother Gus’s arms, Sasha kept pointing in the direction Renee Jennings and Bonnie had gone. "Over there! I want to go over there!"

Brother Gus understood what it meant and soothed it, saying, "Alright, alright, I’ll take you."

The orange-haired girl watched them disappear, then looked down at the phone hanging around her neck. "Well, there’s my video content," she said smugly.

She couldn’t even wait until tomorrow; she wanted to edit the video and post it online right away.

This was sure to get her a ton of new followers.

While Renee Jennings was out for a walk with Bonnie, they ran into Layla.

Seeing Bonnie being held by a strange human, and with two pretty little flower clips in its hair, Layla called out in surprise.

"Bambi, who is this human? How did you get hair clips? What’s that on your back?"

"It’s Layla!" Bonnie clung to Renee Jennings’s neck and said plaintively, "Layla is mean! It and Sasha are always calling me Bambi! I hate it!"

Renee Jennings patted its head, coaxing it gently. "Don’t be angry, Bonnie. Let’s talk to Layla nicely."

Layla stared at Renee Jennings curiously, as if it recognized her. "Human! You’re the human from the phone!"

Renee Jennings raised an eyebrow slightly. "Layla, you remember me? My name is Renee."

"I remember. Why are you holding Bambi?" Layla tilted its head, confused.

"Its name is Bonnie, not Bambi. Please don’t call it by the wrong name again, okay?"

"No way! Sasha says it’s Bambi—the ’Bambi’ that means stupid!"

Bonnie was so angry it started to whimper, on the verge of tears. "I’m not! Don’t call me Bambi! I’m not the ’stupid’ Bambi!"

Seeing it cry only egged Layla on. It bared its teeth and taunted, "You are too Bambi! You’re stupid and ugly!"

Bonnie’s lip trembled with grievance, but it didn’t know how to taunt back. All it could do was complain to Renee Jennings. "Renee, Layla’s mean! A meanie Layla!"

For a moment, Renee Jennings felt as if she were seeing Zane and Jasmine, being mocked by their classmates in kindergarten for not having a father.

Her slender brows furrowed, and her voice grew sterner. "Layla, you can’t bully your friends. The way you’re treating Bonnie is wrong!"

Sensing Renee Jennings’s displeasure, Layla flinched, shrinking back slightly. "But... if I don’t bully Bam... Bonnie, then Sasha will bully me."

"Layla." Renee Jennings softened her tone, a sense of helplessness in her voice. "You told me before that if you don’t listen to Sasha, you’ll end up miserable like Sparkle and Bonnie, right?"

Layla blinked and nodded its head. "Yes."

"Can you tell me what happened to Sparkle?" Renee Jennings coaxed. "I can give you some yummy treats."

Layla pointed to Bonnie’s hair clips, then touched its own head. "And pretty things, too."
