Chapter 563: Have Him Hide All This for You

Chapter 563: Chapter 563: Have Him Hide All This for You

Yvonne Morgan suppressed her dissatisfaction and forced a brave smile. "It’s okay. It’s not your fault, Auntie. I guess I was just born unlucky, not getting to be Mom and Dad’s real daughter."

"Yvonne," Zoe Morgan called softly, an uncontrollable wave of emotion washing over her. Her voice was tight and choked. "You aren’t unlucky. You really aren’t."

"Auntie, you don’t have to comfort me," Yvonne Morgan said, feigning consideration. "I’ve already caused you so much trouble these past few days, always burdening you with my negative energy. Thank you so much for not getting tired of me."

Hearing this, Zoe Morgan’s heart ached for her even more. Her voice was as soft as a whisper, as if afraid of shattering something fragile. "Yvonne, there’s actually something I’ve been hiding from you..."

For some reason, Yvonne Morgan’s eyelid twitched. A flicker of confusion appeared in her eyes. "What is it?"

Zoe Morgan took a deep breath, but her voice still trembled. "You are your father’s biological daughter. You have the Morgan family’s blood in your veins. You are a child of the Morgan family."

At first, Yvonne Morgan didn’t really register what she was saying, assuming she was just trying to comfort her. She chuckled lightly. "Auntie, you don’t have to say that just to make me happy."

"Yvonne, I’m not lying to you." Zoe Morgan glanced around, her tone growing much more serious. "Everything I’m saying is true. Your father is Zachary Morgan, and your mother is Genevieve Hayes."

It wasn’t until she heard the name Genevieve Hayes that Yvonne Morgan finally took her seriously. "What was Genevieve Hayes’s relationship with my father?"

In her previous life, she had indeed discovered that her biological mother was Genevieve Hayes. But Genevieve had passed away long ago and had no fortune to inherit, so Yvonne had never bothered to get in touch with her family.

"She..." Zoe Morgan was suddenly at a loss for words, unsure how to explain the relationship. "Genevieve was a good friend of mine."

Yvonne Morgan couldn’t care less about Zoe’s relationship with Genevieve Hayes. "And what about her and Dad? Why did they have me?"

Zoe Morgan pressed her lips together and fell silent.

’Should I let Yvonne know the truth?’

"Auntie," Yvonne Morgan urged, overjoyed and impatient. "Hurry and tell me what’s going on."

"Genevieve fell deeply in love with your father the first moment she saw him," Zoe Morgan said slowly. "But your father was already married at the time."

Yvonne Morgan pressed her lips together, inwardly vexed.

’If only Genevieve Hayes had met Zachary Morgan sooner!’

Even though she was Zachary Morgan’s biological daughter, she was still an illegitimate child who had to be kept hidden.

Yvonne Morgan pressed on, "So, was Dad moved by my birth mother’s love? Did they fall in love, but because of Mom..."

Zoe Morgan instinctively opened her mouth, but her throat felt as if a tiny, sharp fish bone were lodged in it, painful and constricting. The words on the tip of her tongue refused to come out.

"Auntie, does Mom know that Dad and my birth mother were in love?"

"Aria... doesn’t know," Zoe Morgan managed to say. "And your father wasn’t in love with Genevieve, either."

"How is that possible?" Yvonne Morgan frowned, her voice filled with urgency. "If they weren’t in love, how could I have been born?"

Seeing Yvonne’s agitated state, Zoe Morgan still couldn’t bring herself to reveal the truth of what had happened, worried it would wound her pride and tarnish the image of her birth mother.

"It’s a complicated story. Can I explain it to you slowly when I get the chance?"

"Then does Dad know I’m his biological daughter?"

"He only found out today."

"I see." Yvonne Morgan nodded, her mind already racing with calculations.

’I may be an illegitimate daughter, but I’m still Zachary Morgan’s biological child. I no longer have to worry about being replaced by Renee Jennings and forced to leave the Morgan family.’

A sly smile touched her lips. ’This is great news.’

"Yvonne, I know you’ve been heartbroken because you thought you weren’t part of the Morgan family," Zoe Morgan said softly, taking her hand. "Now you can finally be at ease."

But inwardly, Yvonne Morgan sneered.

’This old woman knew the truth all along but kept it to herself, making me suffer in anger and frustration for the past six months!’

"Auntie." Yvonne Morgan hid her displeasure and asked in a low voice, "So, what was Dad’s reaction when he found out?"

"Your father is angry with me," Zoe Morgan said. "But you’re his daughter, and you’re innocent. I think you might be able to calm him down."

"What do you mean?" Yvonne Morgan asked, confused. "Calm him down about what?"

Zoe Morgan sighed. "Your father is demanding that I tell your mother—Aria—that you’re his and Genevieve’s biological daughter."

"Isn’t that a good thing? Why should I talk him out of it?"

"Silly girl, you’re oversimplifying things."

Yvonne Morgan’s brow furrowed, her tone clearly laced with displeasure. "What’s the real reason you can’t tell her?"

"If you were a child who was switched at birth, your mother would let you stay with the Morgan family, cherishing the bond you’ve built over the past twenty-four years," Zoe Morgan explained gently. "But you’re the child your father had with another woman. Do you think she could still tolerate having you around?"

Hearing this, Yvonne Morgan’s lips pressed into a thin, hard line.

’The old woman has a point. Aria Sinclair has been growing more distant lately. If she found out about this, it wouldn’t do me any good at all.’

"I understand." Yvonne Morgan, seeing the logic, said obediently, "I’ll do as you say, Auntie."

A fond smile appeared in Zoe Morgan’s eyes. "For now, just focus on keeping your father happy. Get him to hide this for you."

"Okay." Yvonne Morgan nodded. "I understand."

**

Brilliant sunlight streamed through the floor-to-ceiling windows, filling the spacious bedroom.

Aria Sinclair held a cup of coffee, leaning back contentedly in a soft leather armchair.

The tablet in front of her was on, its screen displaying Renee Jennings’s livestream.

Her lips curved into an uncontrollable smile as she watched the young woman’s delicate, beautiful features.

The next moment, the phone sitting on the desk suddenly rang.

She tilted her head and glanced at the screen as it lit up, displaying the name: Faye Wyatt.

A flicker of confusion crossed Aria Sinclair’s eyes. She set down her coffee, picked up the phone, and answered, "Fanny, good afternoon."

"Aria, good afternoon. I’m not disturbing you, am I?" Faye Wyatt asked with a chuckle.

Aria Sinclair smiled as well. "Not at all. If anything, you’re the busy one. It was so thoughtful of you to send a gift for Yvonne yesterday."

"It was nothing, really." Faye Wyatt then got down to business. "Aria, would you and Vincent be free sometime in the next couple of days?"

Aria Sinclair immediately sensed something was up and asked softly, "Just Vincent and me?"

"Yes," Faye Wyatt explained. "It’s actually Renee Jennings’s idea. She asked me to see if you and Vincent would be free for dinner. It sounds like she has something she wants to talk about."

A wave of delight washed over Aria Sinclair, her eyes instantly brightening. She answered without a hint of hesitation, "We’re free tonight."
