Lord: Stripped of My Inheritance from the Start

Chapter 509 - 482: Epilogue

Chapter 509: Chapter 482: Epilogue

Ronin’s longsword pierced Catherine’s heart with precision, eliminating the Alien Race member who had followed Serdil from Sorrowwind Plain.

Only then did Aluba match his speed and land on the ground.

Seeing this outcome, the already aged man seemed to instantly grow ten years older.

They had practiced the Trapping and Killing Array before their arrival. Their sparring partner had been the Proud Sun Level Flame Divine Envoy, Lord Flame Wings.

Although Lord Flame Wings’s own power had been diminished from creating so many Flame Seal Knights, he still possessed the true strength of a late-stage Proud Sun.

Yet even someone that powerful, without attacking its weak point, had been trapped by their Trapping and Killing Array for a full half-hour before breaking free.

It was this very drill that had given Aluba, Catherine, and the others the confidence to slay a dragon and kill Ronin.

They never expected that in a real battle, Ronin would discover the Trapping and Killing Array’s weakness and break through it so quickly.

Ronin turned to face him. "If I’m not mistaken, you must be Marquis Aluba, the long-renowned Grand General of the Tricia Kingdom."

Aluba nodded. "Marquis Ronin, your power is astounding. With such potential, why not join the Holy Storm Organization? Once you receive the Flame Seal from Lord Flame Wings, your power is guaranteed to surpass the Proud Sun Level. You’ll become a Legendary Knight, the likes of which haven’t been seen for centuries!"

"Lord Flame Wings and Lord Serdil both intend to build their own kingdoms. Then, with Legendary Power, you can sweep across the continent and establish a vast Empire, just like the first Great Emperor Orland!"

Ronin scoffed. He never thought that, even now, the man would be trying to persuade him to join the Holy Storm Organization.

"It’s a shame that an old man like you would sacrifice his freedom and place his life in another’s hands!"

"You misunderstand."

Aluba shook his head. "By joining the Celestial God Race, my freedom and my life are my own. Serdil cannot force us to do anything."

"Oh? Is that what they told you?"

Ronin knew the traits of these two races from Sophia.

It was true. Neither the Celestial God Race nor the Flame Seal Knights would lose their minds or have their lives controlled by another. In that respect, they were completely different from the Witch Soul Race.

But as soon as they used their wings or activated the Flame Seal, they would be corrupted by the Demon God’s power. Before long, they would become its faithful servants.

"What do you say?"

Aluba extended a hand in a gesture of invitation. "Join us, and we shall hail you as king!"

"Do you think I need that kind of Power?"

Activating Wind Instant Step, Ronin appeared at Aluba’s side in a flash. "I don’t need some so-called Flame Seal to become a Legendary Knight!"

He brought the Flowing Flame Sword down, but Aluba narrowly dodged it with a Wind Instant Step of his own.

But Ronin’s ensuing flurry of close-range attacks completely overwhelmed him.

Flashes of sword light, clashes of Combat Skills—the battle between the two Proud Sun Knights blurred the sky and earth as buildings collapsed all around them.

Though Marquis Aluba was a seasoned veteran, he was finally feeling outmatched in the face of Ronin’s tempestuous assault.

He tried to distract Ronin with words, but Ronin’s will was like steel, and he remained completely unfazed.

Soon—after only three or four exchanges—Aluba was covered in gaping wounds.

"Ronin, do you really think you can stand against the entire Holy Storm Organization?"

Aluba gasped, trying to find a moment’s respite.

Ronin sneered, his assault unceasing. "I fear no organization, and I bow to no Power. You who join them are nothing but pitiful wretches, blinded by Power and willing to cast aside your own humanity!"

Aluba knew that if this dragged on any longer, he would die.

But he didn’t want to die.

’Flee!’

’If I can just get back and have Lord Flame Wings grant me the Flame Seal, I’ll have the Power to defeat Ronin!’

He poured all his Fighting Qi into his wings, his speed soaring to its absolute limit.

Ronin executed his Wind Shadow Skill, then instantly cast his Light Body Skill and Rapid Movement Skill, all while using Wind’s Touch to hinder his opponent’s movement.

"You’re still too slow."

Ronin’s voice rang out from behind Aluba.

A moment later, a chilling stream of Sword Qi pierced through Aluba’s chest.

An expression of disbelief spread across Marquis Aluba’s face. He slowly turned to look at Ronin, his eyes filled with resentment.

"You..."

Aluba managed to spit out a Curse: "You will die! Lord Flame Wings will kill you!"

"At least you’re dying before I do."

A burst of Fighting Qi tore Aluba to pieces.

Ronin took a deep breath and glanced up at Carlos in the sky.

The remaining Silver Moon and Meteor Level Birdmen were no match for the Giant Dragon. As time passed, Carlos had already eliminated most of them.

He vaulted into the air. The battle over on Ridder’s side was also nearing its end.

"To the West Gate."

He activated his Wind Shadow Skill and shot straight toward the West Gate.

’With Ridder at the North Gate, things should be fine.’

He was most worried about the West Gate. Elron, Sophia, and Melonika were all his people. If Ural and Aluba had stationed a large force at the West Gate to target Sophia, his losses would be devastating.

However, it seemed the enemy had no intention of targeting Sophia; there wasn’t a single member of the Alien Race at the West Gate.

By the time Ronin arrived, Elron, Sophia, and the others had already breached the gate and stormed into the city.

"Go support the North Gate."

Ronin shouted from the sky. Before the words even left his mouth, he rocketed upward and sped north.

At least five or six minutes had passed since he’d first been trapped.

And those five or six minutes were the darkest hour of Garrett’s life.

His Griffin Knight Squad was besieged by the winged Knights and the enemy’s Dragon Eagle Knights, and his men were falling from the sky one after another.

Just as he took to the air to cut down a few of the airborne enemies, three Silver Moon Knights descended upon him, pinning him down completely.

Fortunately, Yuge had come to his aid, allowing him to escape serious injury. But in doing so, his strongest Knight, Yuge, had been killed in the skies.

Scanning the battlefield, he saw Gushan and Ibn locked in combat with Ural and his Silver Moon Knights, while Ridder was tied down by an enemy Proud Sun Knight.

But what horrified him most was Viscount Willis of Black Jade Bay—he had been run through the chest!

’That old Viscount, a man of such importance in the Kingdom, is going to die on this battlefield?’

Garrett was stunned.

A Knight’s death was one thing, but if an established noble died on the battlefield because of his actions, and if anyone ever found out that he had altered Bruno’s orders, he would absolutely be held accountable.

In his moment of shock, a sharp longsword pierced his arm, the immense force sending him flying backward.

"Don’t kill him," someone warned.

"Relax, I didn’t pierce his heart."

The three of them had no intention of killing Garrett, and it was precisely this fact that made him feel an unprecedented sense of desperation and despair.

But just then, he caught a glimpse of Ronin pausing in the air for a moment. A flame of hope ignited in his heart.

’As long as Ronin breaks free from his own predicament, I’ll be saved.’

To his utter disbelief, however, Ronin merely glanced at the battlefield before flying away!

"Ronin!"

Garrett’s despair morphed into a burning rage directed at Ronin.

’He could have come to help me! Why did he fly away?’
