Beast Taming: I'm Really Not a Cultivation Master

Chapter 450 - 418: Spirit Awakening Array

Chapter 450: Chapter 418: Spirit Awakening Array

After speaking for about fifteen minutes, Teacher Liang went quiet.

The students left, still wanting to hear more.

After the students had left, Bai Bingbing went up to Teacher Liang and briefly explained the situation.

Li Qian was a bit dumbfounded when he saw this.

’What’s going on?’

’I’m the one trying to evolve a Pet Beast, so why are you being so eager?’

’The thing is, I’m right here. I could have said it myself.’

’Now that you’ve done that, it really looks like there’s something going on between us.’

But Bai Bingbing had already started talking. It was too late to stop her, so he simply waited where he was.

Sure enough, what happened next was exactly as he’d expected. Bai Bingbing waved at him from across the crowd.

Seeing this, the corner of Li Qian’s mouth twitched. He silently walked over.

However, out of the corner of his eye, he saw that the boy with glasses—Liuqing Garden—had a dark and unpleasant expression on his face.

’Great. No point in explaining now. It’s already too messy to explain.’

A smile appeared on Li Qian’s face as he faced Teacher Liang. He walked over at a calm pace and said respectfully, "Teacher Liang, hello. Your lecture just now was very enlightening. I hope you don’t mind that I was eavesdropping?"

"Of course not. You’re also a student at our Shazhou Beast Taming University, and I don’t even mind students from other schools listening in," Teacher Liang said in a gentle voice.

As she spoke, she glanced at the few students nearby, Liuqing Garden among them.

Li Qian was a little confused and glanced at Bai Bingbing, who was standing nearby.

Bai Bingbing knew what Li Qian was thinking and offered an explanation. "Teacher Huang and his team are from Shazhou Defense University."

Li Qian’s eyes widened in understanding. He nodded, thinking to himself, ’Teacher Liang is truly broad-minded.’

"I hear you’re conducting some research on evolution and need my help?" Teacher Liang asked as Li Qian approached.

Li Qian nodded. "Yes. I’m afraid I have to trouble you, Teacher Liang."

Teacher Liang gave a faint smile. "Of course I can help you, but first you have to tell me what it is. I’m worried it might be outside my area of expertise, and I won’t be of much use."

This was, of course, a joke.

Li Qian immediately waved his hands dismissively. "Not at all. For you, Teacher Liang, this will be a piece of cake."

Teacher Liang continued to joke, "Now you’re putting the pressure on. Go on, tell me. What is it, specifically?"

Li Qian pointed to a spot. "Teacher Liang, would you mind coming over here for a moment?"

A moment later, they arrived at the spot where Li Qian had seen the mysterious Array Pattern.

"It’s this Array Pattern. Teacher Liang, can you set up this Array?" Li Qian asked, pointing at the mysterious pattern.

The Array Pattern was for a Spirit Awakening Array. On his way back up the stone steps just a moment ago, Li Qian had already submitted the task.

He had successfully obtained the complete evolution method, raising his Achievement Points to twenty-six.

After obtaining the complete evolution method, Li Qian now understood every detail of the process.

It overlapped quite a bit with the evolutionary hypothesis provided by the university.

The Pet Beast had to consume Starlight Fish and possess the Leaping Dance Skill at the Mastery level, then complete its evolution with the aid of a Spirit Awakening Array.

There were many other minor details, but that was the general process.

The difficulty of this evolutionary path wasn’t particularly high. The only problem was... Li Qian didn’t know how to set up the Spirit Awakening Array.

Although he couldn’t set it up himself, Li Qian could tell the Array wasn’t very complex. It shouldn’t be difficult to create.

For a renowned archaeologist like Teacher Liang, setting up this kind of Array would be, without exaggeration, a piece of cake.

As far as Li Qian knew, archaeologists were often also Array Masters.

The higher an Array Master’s level, the greater their command over Arrays.

Without a doubt, Teacher Liang was surely a master-level Array Master.

As it turned out, Li Qian’s guess was correct.

After seeing what he needed help with, the smile on Teacher Liang’s face grew wider. She gave Li Qian a meaningful look. "Student Li Qian, do you know what this Array is?"

’Clearly, Teacher Liang is testing me.’

’Besides, I said I needed her help setting up this Array. If I don’t even know what it is, it’s like I’m just messing with her.’

"The Spirit Awakening Array," Li Qian said.

Teacher Liang nodded. "Alright. No problem."

She paused, then added, "But not today. It’s about to get dark."

A moment later, it was dark.

Just as Irina had said, it was as if someone had flipped a switch.

The sky, which had been growing dim, suddenly plunged into darkness.

Seeing this, Li Qian couldn’t help but remark, "That’s truly amazing."

"So what now? Do we head back to Luoying Castle?" Li Qian asked.

"There’s no need."

Irina shook her head. "Going back and forth is too much of a waste of time."

"Li Qian, why don’t you camp with us tonight?" Bai Bingbing said, suddenly walking over.

Li Qian chuckled. "I’m not sure that’s a good idea."

"Why not?"

Bai Bingbing said, "My teacher arranged it."

"Alright, then." Hearing this, Li Qian nodded.

’I still need Teacher Liang’s help tomorrow, so I can’t really refuse now.’

"I think going back isn’t out of the question," Irina suddenly said in a low voice, changing her tune.

"Too late for that," Li Qian said with a sigh of resignation.

With that, he followed Bai Bingbing over.

Teacher Liang’s team consisted of eight people, and they had pitched eight tents right where they were.

Her tent was pitched closest to the Stone Tower.

The guards’ camp formed an outer perimeter.

Li Qian entered the encampment, held out his hand, and a folded tent materialized in his palm.

Li Qian unfolded the tent and was just about to stake it down when Bai Bingbing’s voice rang out again.

"Li Qian, over here!" she called, pointing to an empty spot next to her tent.

As she spoke, several heads poked out from nearby tents, their owners wearing expressions like they were settling in to watch a good show.

Li Qian felt a headache coming on, but he had no choice but to walk over.

’If I refuse now, it would definitely be awkward for Bai Bingbing.’

"Okay." So, being agreeable, he picked up his tent and walked over.

But then, the awkwardness escalated.

Irina followed him, also carrying her tent.

In the end, the three of them pitched their tents right next to each other in a tight cluster.

"Sigh..." Back inside his tent, Li Qian let out a helpless sigh.

The next morning, Li Qian woke up early.

After a quick wash, a meal of compressed biscuits, and a drink of water, Li Qian headed to the spot with the Array Pattern.

He had just arrived and hadn’t even had a chance to look at the pattern when he saw Teacher Liang standing there quietly.

"Let’s go. Come with me." Spotting Li Qian, Teacher Liang pointed a finger.

The next thing he knew, Li Qian was shocked to find himself levitating in mid-air.
