Chapter 482: Chapter 225: The Next Move
At this time, Robson was unaware of the events unfolding on the central front.
He had already led his army into the territory of the Tiger Race Royal Court.
The Tiger Race People had just lost a battle and presumably hadn’t regrouped yet, so no one came to intercept Robson.
Of course, even if someone had come to challenge him, Lord Robson wasn’t afraid.
After all, he now commanded seven thousand elite Alien Race Warriors, about three thousand elite human soldiers, plus the Knight Order. ree
With this kind of force, it would be impossible for the Tiger Race People to pose a threat to Robson unless they could quickly muster another elite army of the same size as before.
Robson entrusted his main force to Bo Yang, Ais, Turalyon, Ed, and the others.
With Earl Uman mediating, there shouldn’t be any trouble.
Valentino, for her part, handed the Fengman Knight Order over to Knight Commander Elon and followed Robson to the Tiger Race Royal Court.
For some reason, Robson felt that Valentino was treating this trip like an armed vacation.
Of course, Robson didn’t know.
In the past, Valentino had always been the sole designated heir of the Fengman Clan. One can only imagine the pressure she was under. At the time, she was still just a young girl.
Lately, even though Valentino had been constantly on the battlefield, she was much more relaxed than before.
The reason for this all came down to Robson.
The recent battles, coupled with Robson’s rapid growth, had somewhat alleviated the pressure Valentino felt about inheriting her clan.
Setting aside her title of Countess, she was, in fact, a young woman just past her teens. So, when she was with Robson, she would unconsciously relax and start showing the youthful energy of a girl her age.
’She had only experienced this kind of reassurance with her maternal grandfather, but she knew he would one day be gone. Only a partner by one’s side was forever.’
No matter how much of an all-rounder Robson was, he had never studied female psychology. But if Valentino wanted an armed vacation, then an armed vacation it would be. She was very sensible and wouldn’t wander into dangerous places.
’Besides, to be honest, her presence on this battlefield didn’t change a thing. Knight Commander Elon was probably even more seasoned.’
After arriving in the lands of the Tiger Race Royal Court, the first thing Robson did was not to order the army forward.
Instead, he mounted Everton, soared into the sky, and sped off into the distance.
His destination, of course, was the distant camp of the Gray Dwarves.
In his spare time, Robson had studied the history of the Beastman Empire and the Gray Dwarves.
The Gray Dwarves: a race with no scruples, yet exceptionally clever. Such was the assessment of human scholars.
Humans used to be in contact with the Dwarves, so they were fairly familiar with the history of the Gray Dwarves.
The Gray Dwarves were originally a power within the Endless Desert. For some unknown reason, they were driven out. They then went to the Dwarf Kingdom, only to be driven out again, before finally arriving in the Beastman Empire. This was a true testament to a millennium of wandering.
Judging by the current situation in the Beastman Empire, a victory for them would likely mean a complete turnaround in their fortunes. If they lost, however, they would have to wonder which race on the continent would dare to take them in next.
The reason Robson dared to cooperate with the Gray Dwarves was that, while they were certain to betray their allies in the long run, they were fairly reliable in the short term.
Furthermore, the Gray Dwarves always put their own interests first. Since Robson’s interests currently aligned with theirs, cooperation was a natural possibility.
The Gray Dwarf king, Monroe, had left his location for Robson.
In truth, there was no need to search. Everton had a feel for the scent of bloodlust.
The Gray Dwarves had already fulfilled their promise and had engaged the Centaur reinforcements.
This had little to do with keeping a promise. The two sides shared a century-long blood feud; the Gray Dwarves would have attacked even without Robson’s involvement.
Their enemy was finally on its last legs; it simply wasn’t in the Gray Dwarves’ nature to miss an opportunity to kick them while they were down.
It seemed they had just been through a bloody battle, and the Centaur Clan had apparently suffered a defeat.
Riding Everton, Robson circled once above the Gray Dwarves.
.....
Robson’s appearance quickly caused a stir among the Gray Dwarves.
It couldn’t be helped; a great dragon was simply too conspicuous.
Most people go their whole lives without ever seeing a dragon.
Robson had arrived at the perfect time. King Monroe had just repelled the Centaur Clan and was on his way back to camp.
The moment he saw the great dragon in the sky, Monroe understood what was happening.
’It must be that human who’s come.’
By now, news of Robson crushing the elite Tiger Race forces had spread across the grasslands.
Just as Chief Mole had said, the Beastman Grassland was a place that respected the strong.
If destroying the Centaur King City could be dismissed as Robson bullying the old and the weak, then the battle against the elite Tiger Race forces served to once again legitimize Lord Robson’s strength.
King Monroe also gave this future "friend" a reception of the highest standard.
Without a moment’s delay, Monroe boarded an airship and ascended into the sky.
....
"General Robson, I trust you have been well. You are truly a peerless warrior among the great leaders of humanity!" King Monroe praised.
When dealing with other races, Robson wasn’t one for beating around the bush.
’This is a one-time cooperation; there’s no future in it. Besides, no one’s going to regulate the trade between us.’
