Chapter 483: Chapter 225: Next Move (Part 2)
Robson, riding Everton, tossed the Memory Stone in his hand from a distance.
The Memory Stone was caught perfectly by King Monroe.
On it was the Memory Stone recording of Louis III’s letter agreeing to the alliance.
’What a difficult guy...’
King Monroe was stunned. He finally understood why the other party hadn’t given him a clear answer before.
’He must be afraid of the Gray Dwarves turning on him and pinning the blame in the future.’
Of course, if Robson hadn’t done this, the Gray Dwarves would have definitely used this cooperation to cause trouble later.
"I have come this time with a matter to ask of you," Robson said.
"Oh? And what important matter might that be, General?" Monroe asked.
"I was wondering if you have a map of the resource distribution in the Tigerman Royal Court?
These things aren’t hard to find; it just takes a little time. I don’t believe you don’t have one," Robson said.
This was one of the reasons for Robson’s visit.
Of course, among these so-called resources, the most important were the Magic Beast Breeding Farms.
There was plenty of Magical Beast Meat back in his territory, but with an altitude difference of over a thousand meters, it couldn’t be transported here in a short amount of time.
And yet, whether it was fighting the Beastmen or anything else, Robson needed his Extraordinary Soldiers.
That was why Robson had rushed here to find King Monroe.
"Oh?" King Monroe was taken aback.
"General, the Beastmen are our common enemy. I imagine you’re also in a hurry to get rid of Kemal," King Monroe said with a cold smile.
’Does he take me for a fool? How can he just take and take?’
"If you give it to me, I’ll take what’s useful to me now. If you don’t, I will naturally develop the Tiger Race Royal Court’s resources myself in the future," Robson said.
"What, you don’t actually plan on staying on the grassland, do you?" Monroe said with a laugh.
"And why can’t I?" Robson retorted.
As soon as the words were out, King Monroe was about to refute him, but upon careful consideration, he realized Robson had a point.
’Why can’t he?’
’Never mind anything else, just based on that pack of Jackal Wolfmen under his command and their method of generously distributing others’ spoils...’
’He really could stay on the grassland!’
As he thought this, King Monroe realized he had oversimplified things before.
’The Purple-blooded Beastmen certainly deserve to die, but it seems the humans are no pushovers either.’
"I’ll give it to you, and you withdraw from the grassland afterward..." Monroe said.
"I will withdraw from the Tiger Race Royal Court."
"My Jackal Wolfmen still need a place to graze their horses," Robson said slowly.
Monroe was silent for a moment.
’This human seems no better than the Purple-blooded Beastmen.’
Monroe didn’t think for too long.
The humans were certainly a major threat, but the Gray Dwarves’ main enemy at present was still the Purple-blooded Beastmen.
They had already raised the banner of rebellion; if the Purple-blooded Beastmen ever got a chance to recover, the first ones they would exterminate would be the Gray Dwarves.
Although the humans wanted to maintain an outpost on the Beastman Grassland, it wasn’t, on the whole, an unacceptable situation.
’As long as we defeat the Purple-blooded Beastmen, everything is negotiable. At worst, I’ll just move Iron Dome Castle to Madar Mountain, become the Emperor myself, and be the one to shout ’Long live the Beast God’.’
"Since the General has such needs, it’s not my place to say much more."
Monroe said no more, directly handing over the maps he held.
He knew the other party might not keep his word. He might say he would withdraw from the Tiger Race Royal Court now, but the future was uncertain.
However, the moment Monroe realized Robson had the ability to remain on the Beastman Grassland, the very nature of this war had already changed.
Whether Robson withdrew or not was no longer important; there was nothing Monroe could do about him anyway.
The only thing that mattered to Monroe now was getting rid of their number one enemy, the Purple-blooded Beastmen, as quickly as possible.
As long as the Purple-blooded Beastmen were pushed out, the Gray Dwarves could naturally find ways to recoup their losses from other places.
’Besides, if I don’t give it to him now, Robson will be able to find and scout out those resources on his own in the future. I might as well give them to him now and earn a favor.’
Robson, for his part, hadn’t expected Monroe to agree so readily.
The maps were all in Monroe’s Space Ring and were handed directly to Robson.
Robson opened them up and took a look.
He had originally thought the Tiger Race Royal Court’s territory was barren of resources...
But now, seeing this, it seemed he, Lord Robson, had underestimated the heroes of the world.
Not to mention anything else, in terms of magical beasts alone, there were three large-scale Magic Beast Breeding Farms.
It made sense when he thought about it. There were only ten Beastman Royal Families, and those ten Royal Families occupied the entire Beastman Grassland.
The Beastman Grassland was several times larger than the Frank Kingdom.
The Gray Dwarves’ maps were also made with sufficient detail.
Robson focused his gaze and was surprised to find a familiar name.
Bley Tribe, a tribe that guarded a large breeding farm.
Wasn’t this the Jackal Wolfman Tribe that Clan Leader Fer had said kidnapped his people?
’Talk about a lucky break. This solves everything at once.’
"In that case, my thanks," Robson said with a smile.
Without another word, Robson mounted Everton and flew away.
King Monroe cursed under his breath and had his Soldiers steer the airship to descend.
The thought of potentially having another rival in the future left a bitter taste in Monroe’s mouth.
...
After getting what he wanted, Robson immediately returned to the camp.
At that moment, he happened to run into Valentino, who had just returned to camp after making her rounds.
Seeing this, Chief Moer and Clan Leader Hall immediately rushed to Robson’s side.
Clan Leader Hall was especially anxious.
Clan Leader Hall had, in a sense, abandoned his wife and clan to come find Robson.
Now that all of Clan Leader Hall’s people were in the hands of that group of Jackal Wolfmen, how could he not be anxious?
...
Robson dismounted his dragon without a word. He took the maps from King Monroe, along with the Beastman Grassland map he had acquired earlier, and walked over to a natural stone table.
They hadn’t had time to make a proper camp yet, so they were making do with the stone.
A crowd of non-human and Human Race commanders quickly gathered.
"How did it go, Robson? How are the preparations?" Valentino asked.
Valentino was the one who knew the most about the situation, so she was also the most excited.
One thousand Extraordinary Warriors! A full one thousand of them!
If Valentino had once had doubts about whether they could take the Tiger Race Royal City, now she could say with confidence that there was nothing Robson couldn’t do.
If the enemy hadn’t lost that elite unit, it might have been a different story.
But since they had, as long as Robson could open the city gates, and those one thousand Extraordinary Warriors charged inside...
What followed could no longer be called a battle.
Robson nodded and looked at Chief Hall.
"Before all that," Robson said, "I think we should first help our wood spirit friends."
’Even though we’re doing both things at the same time, phrasing it this way will definitely earn more goodwill from the wood spirits. If I don’t deeply move them now while they’re in need, how can I expect them to willingly toil away like cattle for me, Lord Robson, in the future?’
Sure enough, just as Robson had thought, Clan Leader Hall’s face was filled with gratitude upon hearing his words.
When Chief Moer had introduced Robson to him, he had said Robson was a generous and benevolent lord. Seeing is believing, and now it seemed to be true.
At least, on the Beastman Grassland, no other race would ever prioritize the affairs of the wood spirits.
"In that case, let’s get ready quickly," Valentino said with a nod.
Robson hadn’t actually discussed this with her beforehand, but Valentino’s thinking on some matters was starting to resemble that of Robson’s old subordinates.
She had unconditional trust in Robson’s missions. Besides, Robson’s military prowess was clearly far superior to hers, so why should she have to strain herself? It wasn’t that Valentino wanted to just slack off; she simply believed that everyone has their own specialty, and her comfort zone was in politics.
Time was of the essence. They didn’t know when the enemy reinforcements would catch up, and Robson was also needed on the central front as quickly as possible.
Although no one had gotten much rest, the army Robson had brought with him was the cream of the crop. The Jackal Wolfmen were all fifth-rank at a minimum, so a little fatigue was nothing to them.
